9 Minecraft Speedrunners VS 1 Impostor (idea)

- Minecraft Manhunt but it's Among Us. There are nine crew members and one Impostor. The aim is to kill the dragon before the dragon's ally does the same to them.
This is a new Minecraft but, 1.16 challenge that I have decided to pitch to Dream where he would try to beat the game, while his friend George AND his friend Sapnap AND his friend BadBoyHalo AND his friend Antfrost AND more friends tries to prevent him from doing it. It's a race, and it's super intense. It's AMONG US, but in Minecraft.

even though this idea breaks some of the game design mechanics of among us, this is still a good idea. i also think that having a world border would be great so that the crewmates won't spread out indefinitely. or, you can have a fixed map where there are all of the resources that you need to beat minecraft (and those would be the "tasks"). that will also allow venting to be realised since i'm not really a big fan of having speed effect for the impostor because it is much more obvious and clear rather than venting (which is basically teleportation)

Turn off pvp capability for all players except imposter
Na, they're forms. Maybe the hunter has a 1shot weapon, or he can be inmortal, giving a chance to the crewmate to scape, but not to kill the hunter. They are some ways to kill all of them even if the impostor is tommy (Just like the original game:p)
I already have a working plugin for this game, only issue is I still have to implement the sabotage feature. Would anyone be willing to help me test it?

@@secretsilver3662 well they kinda have to change the mechanics because its Minecraft and not actually among us. It uses the same idea of imposters, sabotages, and whatever but it doesn't take place in the actual map, so having vents in Minecraft in an open world map doesn't make sense
Having only one emergency button on the speedrunners at all time makes sense to me as well because, again, it's an open world map. If there was just one button location and the speedrunners are very far from it, that would just be inconvenient and make things a lot easier for the imposter.
Instead vents could be in the nether

I like this, though the one improvement I would make is that you shouldn't make the imposter unkillable. Instead, if the crew finds out who's the imposter, they have to try and kill them legit. The imposter should also get a sort of one kill weapon with a cool down that they have to hide from the other players, instead of potentially taking multiple hits to kill.

Suggestion: Giving everyone a portable button seems a bit too much, and since the map is too large to consider having a centralized emergency button, maybe everyone gets one free button at the start, but once used it's consumed so they don't get to spam it. You could probably make it craftable with diamond, redstone, and something else, but that will have to depend on the balancing. Also, two imposters among 10, just like a usual Among Us lobby, might be executable. The ideas for sabotage were really cool. For venting, instead of giving speed, I think invis makes more sense. Also, to make things more intense, bodies cannot be reported in the End, assuming bodies in the overworld and the nether still shows nametag hidden behind blocks.

Imagine the imposter in Kill Mode and still can’t kill Dream
Idea: Minecraft speedrunner vs speedrunner, this sounds kinda stupid but if you think about it, it seems pretty cool.
So this is the concept: Both of the players spawn at the same place and they have to speedrun the game (both of the players)
They can kill each other, steal their stuff, do whatever that can stop the other player from beating the game first, whoever kills the ender dragon first wins!
P.S: If one person kills the other player then the person who killed the other player wins. Or if anyone dies then the other person wins.

Wont be that good in an entertainment standpoint, most of the video would be each player gathering resources seperately to race to the end, if one of them gets killed they'll get resetted and both players would go back to playing seperately until one engages in a fight so a large portion of the video is just vanilla minecraft stuff like resource gathering and solo speedrunning. Also there's nothing to incentivize killing so they'll probably play safe and try to solo speedrun.
If one speedrunner does 99% of the damage and the other only punch the dragon once, who won?
it doesn't work because the speedrunners would "help" each other win by destroying the crystals. Whenever Dream does a challenge teaming with friends, he usually fights to get the achievement which just doesn't work in a real game.
Everyone should wear a dream skin and the impostor has a slightly different dream skin

Minecraft Among Us:
A SpeedRunner, 8 Hunters but there is one imposter among us, the imposter is secretly helping Dream.
Roles:
*SpeedRunner (Dream)*: Tries to beat the EnderDragon before the Hunters kill him.
*Hunter (7)*: Tries to kill Dream before he kills the EnderDragon.
*Impostor (1)*: Helps Dream accomplishing his task (finish Minecraft).
Rules:
1- If the Hunters figure out who is the Impostor (Dream also loose).
2- When the Hunters are completely sure about who is the Impostor they need to kill him, but if they get him wrong, Dream wins.
3- When Dream kills the EnderDragon he wins (no need to enter the portal)

I think that this idea is amazing however here is a list of some general suggestions that i've seen in the comments:
1: the emergency meeting button should be craftable, lets say with obsidian and diamonds, and can only be crafted once
2: venting should add invisibility as well
3: Maybe the imposter could have an ability to tp within a 500 block radius of crewmates, in order to make it not impossible due to long distances (with a 5 minute cooldown or something)

I think this is a great idea, but even if they don't have the emergency buttons/body reports, they could just play as nine speed runners with 1 secretly trying to sabotage along the way. And if you get killed by the imposter then you're out, and if you're a crew mate you can't tell anyone else if you know who the imposter is, just try and avoid them or kill them. Then if the imposter dies, the crew mates all die or someone beats the game, it ends
ONe question: how do crewmates fix the lights or other sabotages?
maybe they just don't last long and have a cooldown

Idea: Minecraft speedrunner vs 5 trappers. The trappers cannot kill the speedrunner but set up traps that the speedrunner might fall for it.

I'm just on the right time. I wasn't early.
I considered a similar game mode. The big problem is that Among us forces players to split up to work on tasks all around the station, and if tasks don't get done fast enough the survivors lose. The players splitting up is what provides the imposter with the opportunity to sneak kill them. The dominant strategy in this type of minecraft imposter hunt will just be for all survivors to glue themselves to eachother. It both makes beating the game easier, and it means the impostor can't act.
I've seen some small youtubers do their own version of this and they split up in the beginning as a matter of good gamesmanship, but it got into the mid game and the competitiveness kicked in after a couple imposter kills, and then all the survivors started sticking together and basically forced the imposter to fight them all at the same time together.
The lack of a vent mechanic isn't that big a deal because a minecraft game is a lot longer than an among us game.

Another cool idea would be some hunters vs. some speedrunners speedrunners, but nobody knows who is a forerunner and who is a hunter.

Another Idea for a sabotage:
Portal: Breaks any Nether Portal within loaded chunks of a speed runner.
had an idea on a way that could make this work really good;
- proximity chat (that way they can't just scream who's killing them, but they'd still be able to communicate)
- as opposed to buffs they'd have an enchanted insta-kill sword, but once used goes on a cooldown, but the impostor would still be able to kill through normal minecraft means at the risk of someone catching the act
- instead of having increased speed they'd teleport to a chosen (or random) runner at a certain distance away from a random direction (it would look very noticeable though and play a noise that could be heard if another player was with the selected runner and close to where the impostor could tp)
- finally, because minecraft is so huge and all, there should be an indicator for when people die that appears after a certain duration of time so that their body will inevitably be found
other ideas could be having random (or even all) advancements being considered the crewman tasks, as opposed to solely beating the game
the four emergencies are lights (so for minecraft it would be blindness for crewmates) reactor (perhaps they have to find two buttons that'll appear randomly in their world; they'd be given the coordinates but in order to save reactor they'd have to rush for those buttons) oxygen (they start losing oxygen like if they were underwater, it would be similar to reactor with closer buttons), and comms (prox chat disabled, gui disabled)
worded a bit eh cause i just woke up and feel jaded but felt like dropping this concept (i'm gonna use this with my friends once i set it up)
honestly being dead would be more fun because you get to watch all of your friends beat minecraft

Its a good idea but damn near impossible for the impostor to win, there would need to be some changes for a game like Minecraft. If the impostor uses literally any of his abilities and someone sees him or the particle effects, they can immediately call the button since there seems to be almost no restrictions on it, all they have to do is keep it in their hot bar and suddenly the imposter can't win. I think a teleport would do better, but you can only use it with a 60 second cooldown or something. Also ability idea that might work better for Minecraft: the imposter becomes completely silent so he can sneak up on people, like footsteps, mining blocks and all that since its pretty easy to notice if your alone and suddenly hear the mining of blocks, all they would do is wait until they saw who it was and immediately use the button.
I like the idea! but I think it is better to keep it simple.
6 hunters vs 1 minecraft speedrunner but 1 is an impostor.
The game starts normally as always but 1 of the of the hunter is an impostor, he has to try to help Dream to win while does not have to get discovered.
The impostor follows the same rules as Dream when he dies, he lost. He can not sabotage or have any power, he will be just like the rest of the hunter just that will try to help Dream.
One example is that in the end, the imposter tries to kill the hunters while dream is killing the ender dragon.
I want to see a Team Manhunt.
2 Teams, 3 people on each team, one speedrunner, one hunter, one bodyguard.
Aim of the game is self explanatory, first speedrunner to beat the ender dragon wins the game for their team. If both speedrunners die before the ender dragon is beaten, then the game ends in a draw. But more on that in a sec.
Speedrunners are also self explanatory, however, if their body guard is alive, they are not allowed to set traps to protect themselves, they can defend themselves with regular weaponry, swords, bows, etc. but as long as their body guard is alive, they aren’t allowed to set traps. If their bodyguard is captured by the opposing team, they are then allowed to set traps to defend themselves, until their hunter can recapture them.
Hunters also work how they do usually, however, they are able to capture an enemy bodyguard to bring over to their team, meaning their team can have two bodyguards at one time.
The wildcard of the game is the bodyguard, they are the only ones allowed to set traps to protect their speedrunner, and can be captured by enemy hunters to be put on the opposing team, but can also be recaptured by their original team’s hunter. Bodyguards can choose to play like a hunter if they so wish, however, they would be leaving their speedrunner vulnerable as speedrunners cannot set traps while their body guard is alive and on their team.
The stalemate condition works like this; if one speedrunner dies, then they go into spectator and the game is still going, all bodyguards on the losing team become hunters, and all hunters on the winning team become bodyguards, bodyguards will no longer be able to spawn on the winning team, they can only be captured at this point. This means if the winning team’s bodyguards are captured by the losing team, it becomes a 5V1 manhunt, and if the remaining speedrunner dies, then it’s game over, and it’s a draw.
I think that could make for a real unique video.
Im actually in a discord server that does among us manhunts except its more like normal manhunt than among us. 2 people are the impostors and 8 people are the speedrunners. The impostors get a compass to track the speedrunners and everyone has the same name and same skin so you can't tell who's who. And you can talk in the vc for the whole time unless you are dead. If you are dead, you go into spectator and you cant communicate with the rest of the speedrunners. Its pretty fun and very straightforward.
The imposter should have a compass though too to see where players are that way it’s not too op but it’s not unfair either!!!!

Cool, but I think I see a sure win for the Crewmates with a lame strategy.
Before the game starts, whoever does not want to partake in this strategy is immediately assumed as impostor.
At the start of the game, one player calls the emergency meeting (doesn't matter who). That meeting caller will assign groups to the other 9 players, so that 8 players have a partner, and 1 is alone. That meeting caller will also decide which group and player will go first. This must happen as fast as possible. Then the person who called the emergency meeting will be voted off lol. One group at a time, the two players would take turns hitting each other and attempt to use their emergency button. Because there is 1 impostor, there will be one group that is unable to use their emergency button. You simply have to take the trade on that group by voting off both of them.
Blindness is possibly the best option the impostor has in this scenario, but that can be effectively covered as well. First, minecraft's blindness gives much more vision than Among Us's lights sabotage. This is just due to the fact that Minecraft is in first person, so it is much easier to discern who is near you without vision blocking. Second, even with kill mode on, it takes multiple hits for the impostor to kill their victim. Simply sticking together, looking for a hostile player, and reporting the body after will be the way to win. Even if the impostor isn't found, the strategy can go on as long as there are at least 5 players left. Not to mention, the more crewmates that are killed during blindness, the more likely it is for the other crewmates to notice the impostor.
However, there is a simple fix. You simply need to give ALL players the ability to disable emergency call on hitting another player.

I love this idea! I think it might be worth forcing everyone back to spawn after an emergency. This gives the imposter a chance to chase after new people again in case some people have just gone very far away.

Idea: Speed runner and the world vs 7-9 Hunters someone controls mobs activates gravity and such and helps speedrunner while attacking hunters. It would be cool to see some of previous challenges combined which is why I suggested this

I'm not sure how the imposter would have a chance at finding the other players even with X-Ray since everyone is probably 1000+ blocks apart.
Also, the venting mechanic.....doesn't really work since everyone can see you while you're "in the vent". You might need invis-potion as well, but that would mean that the imposter would need to manually take off their armor.
On top of this, the imposters would probably have no chance at winning if there is even one speedrunner in the game, since it would be so easy for them to just finish the game while the imposter is busy finding someone else.
Perhaps the venting should teleport the imposter to a vicinity of one of the players? But then that would be overpowered for the imposter, since they can probably just insta-kill the crewmates every time right after venting.
