- On October 27, 2023, Rowan University Police Officers were conversing in a parking lot with student residents, when they heard a traffic collision occur nearby. Officers activated their body worn cameras and made contact with the parties involved in the accident. After separating the hostile parties, officers asked the at-fault 20-year-old driver to submit to standardized field sobriety tests. The woman, who was wearing a Batman Halloween costume, denied consuming any alcohol. However, the results of the FSTs proved otherwise. When attempting to place her under arrest for DUI, the woman pulled back, dropped to the ground, and started to resist arrest. At the police station, she submitted to an evidential breath test and the result was 0.14% BAC. In addition, officers found some white, powdery substance in her possession. Her charges and the outcome of her case are discussed at the end of the video.

I agree with most of what you say, but I also think there is a point where the “coddling” should absolutely STOP. I also firmly believe that the main reason young people behave like this girl is because that was their tactic with their parents; and it worked! The more you coddle, the more you enable. So for years, they have been conditioned to believe, “If I pitch a ROYAL fit I will have things MY way!”
I don’t think most officers are happy with the policy forced on them by the powers that be. I think they see how useless it is to spend an unreasonable amount of time and effort trying to “de escalate” a ranting, screaming, trashing, verbally abusive drunk, addict or mental midget. I’m glad they don’t purposely injure these people unless absolutely necessary, but the girl in this video needs a serious attitude adjustment and therapy, or this is the person she will be forever or until she has an epiphany. I also think that her sudden behavior change while being interviewed, into a rational, somewhat more co-operative detainee, proves that her ranting is a tactic and a strategy she regularly calls on.
Her little toddler tantrum, coupled with her inability/refusal to just stfu and LISTEN, certainly makes her claim of having had no alcohol to drink that evening a believable one, doesn't it?
And on top of it all, she did it all in that... "outfit" (I think?)
The behavior you see is much more frequent in women then in men. Drunk men are easier to deal with even if they tend to be mre aggressive. Many women are emotive crazies.

In my state it can still be charged pretty harshly. Thousands of dollars in fines and lose your license, and that's with spending a good 10+ grand on a lawyer to get the charges reduced however much they can. People lose their jobs over it, kids in college may have to drop out if they are in certain programs that dont allow things like DUI/DWI. I wish it was still charged as harshly as it used to be, back when it put the fear of God in you to not do it or your whole life would be ruined. With UBER and Lyft and calling a friend or sibling or parent or relative, there is just no excuse to be driving drunk. If you have nobody in your life to drive you home, either stay home and have a drink alone, or really look to see if possibly there is a reason you have no friends...it may be your drinking problem...🤷♀️

Here in Australia if you’re in reverse you’re at fault. I was backing out of a space and saw a car approaching so came to a complete stop. She thought she could squeeze past by driving on the wrong side of the road, but misjudged and ran the side of her car down my tow ball. I was deemed at fault.

Admittedly, my eyes are a bit bleary in the a.m. , but with the video paused, she looked to me like one of those moms who embarass their kids by always trying to hang out with their friends (esp the guys) and dressing like a teenager. (think Regina George's "cool" mom from "Mean Girls") That's how my brain came up with the 50ish range.
