@ KING TAZER Same here!! I enjoy these films so much that I've been trying to collect as many as I can or as many that are available. I like the ones with some of those older actors like "John Schneider, C. Thomas Howell, The London Brothers" to name a few. My friends always give me crap but F*** 'Em!!
My mom fell for this once. She rented "Battle of Los Angeles" instead of "Battle: Los Angeles". In fairness, "Battle of Los Angeles" sounds like the more real movie title.
They were going to make sequels Battle: Los Angeles, new york was next. Too bad it had to flop, I would have liked the sequels too if they would've stuck with the formula.
I remember between like 2010 and 2013 watching so many horrendous CGI monster movies from them. Complete destroyed my perception of them until 2014 when Godzilla restored my faith in CGI
I intentionally look for Asylum movies. I have an entire box full of them on DVD as well as an entire folder of them on one of my flash drives. I always watch their movies because they make their films the way they want to without bullshit studio and societal influences. Hell theres 2 of their newest movies I go to Walmart every week looking for.
4:41 I knew that The Asylum would make their animated movies very low quality but I never expected someone to stand in the air in them. This is laughably embarrassing.
Can I just mention The Asylum's strange addiction to making shark based movies? ALOT of their movies involve or revolve around sharks, since megashark vs giant octopus they keep finding ways to make films based on sharks (2 headed shark attack, more megashark films, megalodon, and of course, *sharknado* )
@@SethBailey funny enough theres a music made by japanese artist T+Pazolite(read:Topazolite) called T+VS Shark, where T+Pazolite were running from a Shark that somehow invade the earth, not only that the shark multiplies and turning people to be Shark zombie, the song ended with T+Pazolite fight the shark and wins it with ig green screen explotions, wake up from a sleep and turns out that was his daydream could this song possibly made because he were scammed by The Asylium in the past or theres a time where Japan had the trend of Sharknado?
If you accept the weirdness of their movies, they’re actually quite entertaining. You’ll see a lot of the same actors in all of their movies, but that’s not a problem at all. Their quality actually got better over time. You can clearly see that they don’t take all of this too serious and this is somewhat refreshing in nowadays times.
Sorry, coming in late here... Z-Nation is great! It starts kind of Asylum-ish, but after some episodes you really fall in love with the characters. And who can go through life without having seen the worlds biggest cheese getting spiced up with zombies as it rolls through the landscape? Hmmmm... kind of Asylum-ish too, I guess. But, yes... Z- Nation has good actors, fun plot, nice locations and doesn't take itself too seriously. And it has Doc!!❤
It certainly has to be better than "The Walking Dead", the worst series ever which you can either describe as where nothing ever happens or as where the same thing happens every time.
Oh my god, I have a Cars rip-off DVD from Video Brinquedo called “The Little Cars in the Big Race”. They also released more The Little Cars slice-of-life episodes on DVD, which I also have along with the original Cars trilogy lmao! Grew up with both the original and the mockbuster.
These guys have my respect alongside admiration but also complete disdain and hatred at the same time cause they nearly killed the Syfy Channel with their slop.
I would say by today’s standards, those films would be laughable. They’re not gonna rip you off with renting by today’s standards, but it’s more like one of those films. Were you turn off your brain for a while and just laugh at how terrible the sci-fi is and everything I could go on quite a fascinating company to me
However we all gotta admit asylum is so op cause they pretty much run the syfy Network and keep it in business because it's where you go to start horror with bad monster films
It's actually genius the way they work it. Nothing is made till its sold. Once it's sold, they take a part of the sale price and that becomes the budget for the movie. They have profits before they even shoot the first frame. Meaning, all those mockbusters were made just like that. It's not their fault, it's finding what sells and getting paid in advance. If no one buys the idea (usually a poster), it doesn't get made. Most also do not realize they release about 15-24 movies a year. So, most of their projects are still original content and not mock. Maybe I should do a video...
@@mungosmungo8694 It's a method that has been used by so many productions around the world over the decades. A book I have about Italian directors who directed movies of whatever genres or themes were popular had one of the directors explain something similar to what you put in your comment.
I have yet to see the asylum movie that I like. C Thomas howel couldn't act his way out of a wet paper bag....don't get me started on the lowest common denominator, sharknado.
The Asylum is the reason why the words "the plot is being kept under wraps" is to be treasured when a movie goes into production.
I follow this company religiously, I have watched more of their films than any one man should. Like this video, it’s fantastic

That one just seems especially crazy when it comes to the titles.

I love the casting of asylum movies, full of d listers and those whose careers are no longer flourishing
Are saying Gilbert Gottfried
is on the D list?
One thing that should be mention that not only The Asylum collaborated with Syfy, they also collaborated with Pluto TV and Tubi

Half of these movies that asylum
did went all to the sci-fi channel
They sure did, which is probably one of the reasons they had money to keep making movies.
@@SethBailey yes sir

I just like to imagine they bought some 3D shark models a long time ago and they want to get their money's worth.

In my Opinion
The Asylums DEAD 7💀 is underrated

the asylum shark movies hit different holy shit I had no idea they did z nation yo
Wanna know the oddest thing? One of The Asylum's only shows, Z Nation, seems to actually be their only actually legit project
I'll have to take your word for it. I haven't seen it.
Sorry, coming in late here... Z-Nation is great! It starts kind of Asylum-ish, but after some episodes you really fall in love with the characters. It's cool to hear people liked the show.

The first few Asylum movies we watched were hilariously bad but then when we watched Alan Quartermain it was just boring...
I thought that I dreamed a couple of those. My first experience with them was War of the Worlds 2.
Video Brinquedo is probably the second biggest Mockbuster company. But The Asylum at least had one half decent movie, Sharknado.
Os carrinhos was absolute horrible, yet I liked it when I was little. Vídeo Brinquedo Tesouro Nacional 🇧🇷
The crazy thing is they have budgets .. independent directors wish they had half of that

Just came across your channel. How did I miss this?? Great content!! Thanks for sharing!!
Thanks so much for your encouraging comment. I'm glad you liked the video.
I definitely would love to watch that transmorphers movie and that avengers knockoff to just to see it cuz I never seen either one of them
Some of them are pretty good.... reminds me of going to the video store in the 80's....pure schlock but I think Castle and Lewis would approve
Inmate of The Asylum 4 life! 🥰
Why watch back to the future when you can watch Back to the past
I am a fan of Asylum movies, so sue me...!
How about some Asylum monster creatures cgi on it
I would be weird if they somehow made a indie art film that didn’t suck.
I would say by today’s standards, those films would be laughable. They’re not gonna rip you off with renting by today’s standards, but it’s more like one of those films. They probably still hook a few blokes that don't look at the cover.
Yeah man, imagine some “blokes” prolly think cinema cgi is somehow getting worse lol
Z nation was incredible
I seen CarGo! I watched it on UA-cam, great Movie, i enjoyed it
This is what I needed, thank you
However we all gotta admit asylum is so op cause they pretty much run the syfy Network and keep it in business because it's where you go to start horror with bad monster films
I'm still holding out for the Asylum movie PEMENTO LOAF. which is a knock off of Bolognaman.
🤣
Their films are so bad, they put the entirety of them on UA-cam. For *free.*
Can't wait analyzes the asylum universe
Uhh not to be that kinda person but universal didn’t release transformers. It was paramount.
You're absolutely right. My confusion came from the Transformers being at Universal Studios.
@@SethBailey ah that makes sense. Yeah it’s kinda weird like that. Universal owns the merchandise and that’s why the ride is there.
Weirdly enough they haven't lost money on any of their films..... sketchy AF if you ask me. They should be bankrupt.

Lol movie sales by deception ain't that a laugh....try watching big bad bugs. Which is definitely a rip off of starship troopers.
I watched cargo from the asylum and gotta say what a bad animation thats was
I've been watching their films ever since renting Alien vs. Hunter thinking it was legit.
A classic!
Sharknado is the most shity movie in my opinion does everyone agree
Bro Uganda makes better movies then the asylum
Who killed Captain Alex? Is a classic.
