Id like to know what is the plural in Hebrew for the word transliteration Qatseh?
I read the Hebrew Bible (OT) and I see the Hebrew word Transliteration Qatseh in English is end but in English translation I read it end or ends.
If qatseh is singular why in other verses of the OT, qatseh is translated in English as ends(plural) especially in Isaiah 43:6 ends of the earth and not end of the earth?
I hope you can educate me with my question.
    Thanks!

Can you please let me know about the IM ending for Elohim, and Kedoshim in Proverbs 30:3. Many people have told me that Elohim when it applies to God is both singular and plural. Is this possible?

Hi, Hebrew native here, elhohim is only said when referred to the god of Jews, or a single (specific!) god. Its ending is plural, therefore it's plural AND singular but in modern Hebrew we no longer use it when we want to say multiple gods, instead we say elim (אלים). If you're looking for a bliblical/ mishnahic/ medieval Hebrew answer, than there existed a noun case which made it plural as well, and thus it was used as the plural. El (אל) means a god (or demigod) which ISN'T the god of jews or a specific god which is talked about. Hope this helps :)

I have learned that there's two words for here in Hebrew: פה וכאן. Which one is used when and which one is used the most. First I heard פה and lately I have been hearing כאן. Just wondering.

      Hi Hend Bahaa,
      Thanks for commenting!
Well, there's no 100% way to deduce the singular word out of a plural, as there are many exceptions in Hebrew and one must know the words themselves to do so... One thing that can give you some help is the fact that most Hebrew plural female nouns end with "ot" (ים), and most Hebrew plural female nouns end with "im" (ים), and in many cases simply removing these suffixes would give you the singular form.
I hope that helps! and good luck in your exam!

So like in the word ( Elohim ) which has a plural ending ( im ) ! Does that mean like more than one ? Such as 2 or 3 or 4 ??

      Hi Mike,
      Thanks for posting!
This is a question that is dealt with thoroughly in Jewish philosophy, and too wide to be answered here. Literally speaking - yes, Elohim is a plural form of the word God ("el"), the reason for why the writer of the bible chose to put it this way is not known, however...
      Hope it helps :)
