Thanks for the vid. I have a spinner. Now you have shown me how to fix my balls. I too go to an alley where chips and chunks are common. But it's the only alley within 50 miles of my small town sooo I'm stuck going there.
Awesome content brother. I really appreciate the concise information on how to repair the issue as well as what is likely causing it. I just found several of these dings last night after I finished league and needless to say I was very unhappy.
Yeah if they are on your track it will effect ball motion. Iv been out of the bowling game for a while now because of the masks. they drive me nuts. I was looking at the new motive venom ball today. 160 bucks even the balls have gone way up in price. I need to get back on the lanes. You may have just inspired me to get a new ball and go bowling soon thanks
@@WorkingClassKnowledge hell the new 900 global hybrid: Zen Soul is dropping next month absolutely beautiful and I can’t wait to pick one up. Right now I’m using the Black widow ghost pearl, Scorpion, web pearl, twist my good old crown jewel spare ball.
We purchased the ball spinner. So worth it. We repair all our ball nicks now. We also got all the different sanding grits and files. 100s of vids out there...but you only need this one by WCK! A machine bit my new Hy-Road Max. I was able to repair it same day...Thanks to you.
My newly bought C300 Power Torq Solid got a scratch from the ball return machine on the bowling alley. The pro shop pro who sold the ball to me offered a free repair. He might have used the same type of chemical and process like what you did in this video. However, I think he might have scuffed and sanded the patched area a little bit too much. The repaired area now feel a little bit dented when touch by hand. I feel a little bit demotivated because this kind of thing happens on my newly bought expensive ball. The pro shop pro offered me to drill the dented area to a certain depth and replug it for free to make the dented area round again. I asked about this in a few online bowling forums, but most of the people in the forum told me to just ignore the dent because it might not affect my gameplay significantly even if the dent is on the track area of my ball.
Got an og hammer red pearl i need to do this too saved it and and an old galaxie 300 from just being thrown away and both balls still have plenty of life in them.
I had my bowling ball get the same thing but a little deeper; took it to the manager the instant I picked up the ball. He said he'd patch it up for no cost due to it being improper lane maintenance. So I will probably not be going there, but it's $25/hr with shoes included. Now I have to go to a further place for $45/hr.
Really good content man. I know what my next at home bowling tool/product purchase will be. I'm honestly surprised you don't have more viewers. Keep that up and I'm sure subs will explode.
@Working Class Knowledge, i see you used this one a polished/pearl coverstock ball. Can this also be used on a dull sanded ball before sanding it back to factory standards? Please respond back, if you want to know which ball i'm speaking of, it's the Obsession Tour, which comes out of the factory at 1000 Grit. Thanks!
I just recently bowled at an alley I heard screeching when the ball would come out of the conveyer and I looked at my ball and had like 4 different large scratched
We had balls getting stuck last night. The guy who runs the maintenance said do we want to move lanes? I said well let me finish by 269 real quick and then let the other people decide lol. I did get a few dings but got my 269 third game lol. 😂
If you have a HUGE chunk and the ball is cheap, don’t bother with resins. Write it off and get and a new one. Resins are more trouble than they are worth and with a huge chunk, regardless of what you do, the ball will never bowl the same again.
Great job! Nicely done. Can you tell me the Turtle Wax products your using. I know you mentioned one was for medium/heavy scratch removal cut and the other medium/light scratch removal, but wanted to make sure. I see your using TruCut Pads, for the beginning cuts 180/360.....are you using wet sandpaper? I do when resurfacing and use wet sandpaper all the way until I can't anymore and then some TruCut. But like you, trying to do the same thing but without spending so much. Didn't even think about the car polish! Would be a big savings! Thanks so much
Ctd Bowling .com They sell sanding pads for bowling balls. Yes I always wet sand. so I don't breath in the bowling dust. But you can dry sand just do it outside. and you can bang the pad off on something and dust will fall out
@@WorkingClassKnowledge Is that Turtle Wax T-417 Premium Grade clean cut ploshing compound used as your medium/heavy or light medium? You had a green bottle and a black bottle in video?
One was heavy to medium and the other was medium light. I think. I apologize I'm in the middle of a move. so my stuff is everywhere other wise id give you exact info. But honestly they both produce the same look very close. if you have one of the two your good.
Thanks Man. I'm trying to make these video's better and better. There's a huge learning curve. Like everything else. Anything you want to see let me know Ill try to make it happen. Thanks for the support
Depends on the crack. Some cracks can be fixed. But if its too big then ide say no. If its small then cut out the cancer with a router and fill it. Ive had some pretty back cracks from other pro shop plugging's and I was able to fix it. I had a few people come to me with balls that caved in around the finger holes were they had it plugged. and I was able to fix them.
after you get the bowling ball damaged go to the pro shop at the alley and they will fix it for free they have to thats part of the contract of having their shop in the building and if they break your ball they will replace it for free
because that was in the beginning of my you tube learning experience. I'm not a professional but I'm working on it. this was an old ass video. I HAD NO CLUE WHAT I WAS DOING. when it came to cameras and video quality. its a learning experience
Really. Look up true cut bowling ball polish on CTD bowling .com. Guess who makes it. Turtle wax. They want the extra money cause it says bowling on it. That's it. I will argue this to my grave. Ive been using 7 dollar bottle of turtle wax on my bowling balls for over 2 years and I have had a single problem. You should ask him How it physically hurts the bowling ball. I'm interested to hear why or his reasoning. Mabie he's right but I'm not so sure tho
Dude that thing looks brand new, that’s insane!
Thanks

Looks good dude! What would use use to do that to a Urethane ball?

Nice video. Try hitting those bubbles with a propane torch or "dab" lighter to pop them and get it flat. Trick from working with resins.
My son just got a chunk taken out of his new Proton Physix : ( This video is very helpful. Thanks!
No Problem
same, local alley didn't have proper maintenance, took a big chunk from my Proton probably from loose bolts
It happens way too much. then your left without a ball for a week or so
No problem

yeah my ball chipped in an area that with proper bowling wont affect my spin.
