ULTIMATE CHEAT DAY!
1. HI-LO DINER

SPICY CHEESE CURDS: Place Ellsworth Buffalo cheese curds in batter (cornstarch, flour, a pitcher of soda water) and mix. Dust the cheese curds with corn starch. Pour batter in with cheese curds and mix well. Place in the fryer and fry for a few minutes.
GARY COOPER HI-TOP: Deep fry the donut tops. Bread the chicken with flour, milk, corn flakes and then fry. To assemble: glaze plate, place donuts, drizzle syrup, place three pieces of chicken, add more syrup and then smother gravy on top.

2. MASON JAR KITCHEN
ADDRESS: 1565 Cliff Rd # 1, Eagan, MN 55122, United States
OPERATION HOURS: 8:00AM - 8:00PM

CHILI MAC: In a pot, add peppers, onion, chili, poblano peppers, beans, stir - let it cook ; mix macaroni with the homemade cheese sauce, chili and shredded cheddar cheese. Place the Chili Mac in a cast iron skillet. Place in the wood stone pizza oven. Top with a bit more cheese after baking.
TATER TOT HOTDISH: In a big pot, make cream of mushroom soup - add mushrooms and allow it to cook for 30 minutes. In a bowl, add cream of mushroom, mix in ground beef, and corn. Assembly: in a skillet, add tater tots, top with beef mushroom mix, top with cheese. Place in a pizza oven. Top with more cheese and melt. Top with tater tots.

3. WENDY’S HOUSE OF SOUL

MAC AND CHEESE ROLL: Mix macaroni with shredded cheddar. Add in melted cheese and mix well. Lay out two wraps and spread excess melted cheese. Add macaroni and cheese. Wrap. Fry.
DEEP-FRIED CHEESEBURGER: Soul seasoning: thirteen herbs and spices and green pepper | Assembly: take two wraps and smother them with cheese. Lay turkey bacon, American cheese, burger patty, add onions, green peppers, pepper jack cheese, provolone and spread more cheddar spread. Get another wrap, add cheddar spread and seal it. Fry it.

Minnesota is a hot bed of small restaurants that are amazing! The juicy Lucy is one that two restaurants in Minneapolis argue to be the first and best at this creation! You need to come back during the state fair and experience all of the insane deep fried cuisine! They have everything deep fried except Oreo’s… Oh wait! They have those too!

I couldnt do all the deep fried and cheese when i lived there. i understand why. it was the only place i lived where you couldnt find certain food, before the covid supply chain issues. you can tell they struggle with supply issues in the winter, because of the cost and snow. which i did love the cold and snow, as well as the saunas everywhere. i aint hating, and variety has limited the traditional choices. that isnt soul food. sorry, i am from the south, and that aint it. the foreign food is what i lived for and miss from living up there. i wish they had hit some foreign restaurants, as i have not found any as good since. hence, the foreign co-host trying to be nice, and it aint bad, but shit you can only eat two bites of all that fat. i miss the place and want to go back, but i feel like they missed the best parts.

As an italian it makes me feel unhealthy just watching. I think the amount of satutated fats and sugars they eat per month is equivalent to the amount that we eat per year.

My favorite thing about this show is that no matter where Sonny and the team go, it never feels like he's making fun of the cuisine. I guess for me this episode is funny because I'm from the US, but people from Vietnam could think the same thing when Sonny talks about Vietnamese food. It's nice seeing it from a different perspective.

Man you gotta love the engineering on that last wrap.
1. Melting the cheese ahead of time *ensures* full melt, without stressing on wrap burnage.
2. Turkey bacon helps avoid unrendered fatty chew from pork.
3.Patties pre-cooked to avoid grey beef.
4.Veggies go in the middle. They'll never cook before the wrapper burns, so keep 'em crispy.
5. Any unmelted cheese is nearest the wrap.
What you explained just sounded like heaven and could give me a heart attack just by looking at it. Delicious...
No person in the world that i have met would ever day TURKEY bacon is soul food. That being said i would still love to try this even thou that TURKEY bacon kinda scares me.

As a native Minnesotan, I have to say the tater tot hotdish looked delectable. The Chili mac also didn't look like a slouch.

that's good they're showcasing other cuisines here too. the past videos were like the bland, stereotypical dishes, but there's a ton of other great food and large immigrant populations in the twin cities

Hmong Village is NOT the hmong food scene. Its sad, nothing stands out and everybody sells the same things.

Absolutely love all of your videos. I was sad to see you leave Vietnam as I was there for a motorcycle tour a few years ago and your videos always remind me of the amazing food. He was overweigth, healthy eating and exercise helped him to get too the weigth he wanted. Not sure if he had belly reduction but he has a video about his weigthloss.
So basically he's able to keep eating all those unhealthy things because he started eating healthy and exercise more.

Awesome show man, I'm addicted. I really enjoy the unusual Asian dishes the most, but this one hits home literally... I now live in north central Arkansas (Lead Hill area) but I'm 42 and lived 41 years born and raised in the Grand Rapids Mn area.

Mason Jar is absolutely fantastic. The staff is super friendly, the atmosphere is quaint and the food is next level. The chili mac and tater tot hot dish are delicious but honestly not even in my top 3 items there. If you are into cocktails they also have great seasonal drinks. Highly recommend!

Those donuts are Slovenian traditional donuts. We fill them with apricot or blueberry jam. In recent years, however, they have also become popular with vanilla cream or chocolate. The most famous are the Trojanski krofi, although in recent years they have lost little of that true perfection.

Or different immigrant groups and how they brought their food and culture to the US and maybe adapted and created some new dishes to appeal to a wider range of customers.
Two Americans eating the usual Mac N Cheese, Burger and Pizza Has been done before and it would be nice to see a different take on what the US has to offer.

You have to take in consideration Sonny's fan base isn't just all Americans. He has other ethnic groups and considering he lives in Asia. So I would only assume some of his Asian fans don't get to see burgers every day and plus the burger in this episode wasn't your typical burger.

I am from Japan and omg i got to admit those foods looks delicious 😢😭 i want some! But i had soul food when i visted the state.
