I'd love to watch/listen to Rocco's commentary over his favorite sentai episodes, he always gets so excited to spout some obscure knowledge and gets shut down almost immediately
I don't think there's any chance they release a N64 Classic without GoldenEye. Nintendo is going to be pushing hard for that to be a party machine to pressure people into buying 4 controllers. I hope they include all 3 Mario Party's as well.

Golden Boy anime dub is infinitely superior based entirely on the main character. I've actually watched the whole thing switching between audio tracks so that the main character was in English and the others in Japanese. Best.
Cromartie High is a must watch in english for non japanese speakers. The comedy is entirely lost in subtitle translation.
The English dub was how I experienced it back during the Anime Network run, it was some quality stuff.

I remember seeing "Salt" (with Angelina Jolie) in the theater a long time ago. Once it was on TV, I decided to check it out again, but this time it had completely different scenes. Same goes with Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 2.
More Marcus Corner! The funniest characters Shawn does are Site Freak, Todd/Aaron, and Marcus. Marcus is just great, unfiltered Shawn is hilarious, he says the funniest rudest things ever like he just doesn't even give a flying fuck.
I'm watching Attack on Titan seasons 1 and 2 dubbed and it's not bad at all. I know season 3 is subbed so I'll be able to make that comparison soon.

Goldeneye, Rare doesn't have the license to anymore. Rare lost the license, then EA got it and lost it a little later, and now Activision has it, and they're still making other Bond games. Honestly though Goldeneye is nostalgic but going back to it nowadays with the controls, it's horrendous. Perfect Dark is still owned by Rare and Microsoft though and they're already playing ball with Nintendo with Minecraft, so maybe we will see PD on the N64 classic. It's already on Rare Replay

I'm so glad I watched evangelion on netflix before this podcast. that way, the ending got to be a complete shock. and oh boy was it.
Personally,
the best dub out there or most iconic will always be Pokemon. Nothing is more iconic to me than Ash's voice saying, "Pikachu use______!!"
I mean for you sure but its a pretty bad dub. Entire episodes cut out scenes removed all cultural references edited out of the show etc etc
The majority of scenes that were cut in the US version was cut out of the others too though. The cultural changes I understand, it happens with American cartoons and games too when they go over seas, Japan definitley has the better cards for PTCG though. There's a lot more changes with the American cards, especially in the early sets.
I will one day give the newer dub of Giant Robo a try but in my mind the Manga Entertainment dub of Giant Robo is what I watch it in. Together Allegiance or Death! Big Fire!
Pretty much all Gundam series are great dubbed. They're great either way though.

Eva the series had a decent dub for the time. Its definitely watchable. You can blame rei's english va for eoe, she directed it. Watch the commentary track. She was really into the goofy sound effects.
I vastly prefer the dub of eva and feel like I got the same if not more of an emotional impact from it. I watched both versions and still maintain the dub as my fave.
The station agent was a great film!

I don't think people are upset about the re-dub necessarily, I feel it's people are being concerned about the redub not having the original cast. And about The End of Evangelion:
1. The only added swearing line is when Misato and Shinji talk for the last time. Other than that moment, and a couple of other small lines, the movie is almost word-for-word from the Japanese version.
2. Was there really badly translated plot elements? Because last time I saw the Japanese version, with English subtitles, the same lines we're shown in the subtitles minus the added Misato swearing bit.

1:39 -- Peter Parker's science and tech prowess is equally as important as his superpowers. Giving him organic webbing, while arguably more streamlined, does not fully represent the character. Creating the web fluid and shooters is an important part of the Spider-Man persona.
That said, organic webbing was achieved fine in the Raimi movie.

I liked Ghost in the Shell live action for the most part. Other than that I haven’t seen a decent live action adaption of anime

Ghost in the Shell (Stand Alone Complex) is one where I have to watch the dub, same with BeBop, Yu Yu Hakusho. But then you have shows like Naruto, Bleach, some others with pretty awful dubbing.
Golden boy had the only dub I can stomach and actually enjoy. That and cromartie high school
I cannot stand Japanese Goku, I disagree with the whole Goku is a different character in sub and dub. I watched all of z in dub then all of super in sub and I personally always thought Goku was an idiot and made that uneasy feeling in both

I'm going to be that guy who will come to the defense of the Eva dub. Like the guys discuss, a lot of it has to do with how you watch it first, and Rocco comments on enjoying the potential cheesy nature of a dub, and I think both of those are a factor for me. And I recognize that the Japanese version is the objective "best" way to watch it. But I really don't think the dub is that bad. Shinji, Misato and Gendo's VAs in particular turn in some pretty compelling performances and deliveries of certain lines, imo. I don't think anyone is even "bad", even Asuka, except maybe Shinji's friends. A dub is a dub and I recognize you're into that or you're not, but I never understood the high level of hate Eva's dub got. When it comes to Netflix I'll watch it again in the Japanese, but I'd be a little sad to see the old dub go if they did redub it. That's just how those characters sound to me.
