So many reasons to prune this way, as I do, but I still hand pollinate to ensure production and evenly spread fruit throughout the tree. As you know when clusters form the fruit is smaller and can get heavy and I have had branches actually break from the trunk. So I use a combination of thinning the fruit and hand pollination to achieve good crops and healthy trees. Some years I have not pollinated at all and still had plenty of fruit to sell. Cherimoyas are so much fun to grow and enjoy! Thank you for sharing your experiences.

Your trees are so beautiful. I live in San Jose, and have a cherimoya for 11 years, never bears any fruit. Last year had a lot of flowers, this year had only 4 flowers, but they were all gone without no fruit.

Thank you!!!! If my cherimoya tree is around 15" tall, can I prune the top without harming the tree? How high should the tree be to duplicate your amazing method?❤

Should we grow more than one or 2 to get more chance to get fruits?

I'm trying to grow these from seed right now. They're just starting to pop out of the soil but a lot of them has the stem turn black and shrivel and break from the seed. How much water and sun do you recommend? Thanks!

Put them In a bright area, with a little morning sun but mostly indirect bright light. When they develop a few leaves slowly Acclimate them to more light.
Keep them moist, but not wet, in rich good draining soil.
Start them in small 4 inch pots, or something close.
Soak the pots 2-3 times per week
Based on how dry they get where you are.
      Good luck!
