I had for a long time the radio with the C19 kit and I had never connected it, thanks to your instructions I am now also active in digital modes with the X5105, thanks! 73 de I5EKX Alex
Glad I could help
Received my CE-19 today. This video is perfectly on time. Thank you John!
I'm on FT8 most days on bouncing around the HF bands (Not 60m/5MHz as my licence does not cover that band) I hope to catch you on the air some time.
I can't tell you how helpful this was! It's simple enough, but I kept putting it off until I could find proper documentation or in this case your video. Thanks.
This was such a simple thing that I didn't think of covering it until someone on Facebook and also in the forums of QRZ.com asked specifically if there was a video showing it. As I had one I needed to wire myself I thought I'd video it. I was surprised at how many people viewed this in the first 24 hours and even after 2 weeks it is still going strong with 193 views. I am so glad that it has helped so many people.
EXCELLENT JOB Thank you John. I've been trying to figure this out for some time! I would really love to see the G90 and PC settings video as well! 73
I am planning to do a full in-depth walkthrough of the G90 at some point but for now all I can tell you is:-
1: Short press "FUNC" then press "POW" twice and change the input from "MIC" to "LINE"
2: Set "MODE" to "USB"
3: Short press "FUNC" then press "CMP" and turn for maximum width
4: Short press "FUNC" then press "NB" and turn for maximum width
5: Turn off "AGC" + preamp/attenuator
6: Long press "FUNC" press next until you see "AUX IN Volum:" adjust for your TX volume (If too low it will not TX. If too high your signal will distort)
7: Long press "FUNC" press next until you see "AUX OUT Volum:" Adjust this until the WSJTX dB volume is between 40 & 60 so the PC can hear well
6 & 7 will vary according to your personal setup (antenna/coax/sound card/computer/etc.)
I hope this helps.
@@A.R.O.T.A. thanks much
Your welcome.
Thank you for posting this ♡♡♡
You are welcome. I was surprised that no one else had already done it.
Awesomeness!♡♡♡
This is fantastic 🤜👍✊
I am also learning how to use a c19♡ with a g90! Fabulous ♡♡
Thank you.
For the 3.5mm three conductor, Ring, Tip, Sleeve, (or RTS for short), plug that goes into "AF CON" on the CE-19, the key is:
1) the red wire (AF CON tip) goes to the red and white wires (tip and ring) of the microphone cable (usually a red colored 3.5mm jack on the PC).
2) the white wire (AF CON ring) goes to the red and white wires (tip and ring) of the speaker/headphone cable (usually a green colored 3.5mm jack on the PC).
I have seen some of the wires provided that do not conform to this standard so I recommend the use of continuity testing to be sure.
I think I understand but what is the green wire
If you follow this method the wire with the green marker connects to the speaker out of the sound card and the red marker connects to the microphone/line in. If they are wired correctly you will see activity on the waterfall of WSJT-X (20m daytime/40m nighttime are normaly busiest) if not try swapping them around.
I don't have 8 pin mini DIN cable. Can you tell me the pin out on it please? Is it a straight though cable? I found the pin out for the G90 but not for the C-19. Is it a cable used on other equipment?
All pins should be identical but the AF_IN and AF_OUT should swap over.
@@A.R.O.T.A. Excellent. Thank you. I bought the C19 sec hand. No cable! 73.
