Bought this watch after watching this review almost a year ago now, use it everyday almost, excellent value especially with the sapphire crystal. Superbly comfortable and easy to read, lume is also excellent. Must buy in my opinion. Excellent review you have earned a sub!
The Silver 307 on brown leather and Black 311 on black leather are beautiful dress watches. The 309 dark blue is lovely as well. All are regularly available below $150 US. There are also now SUR Titanium models that are nearly the same design and are available generally around $200. These are SUR Silver 369, light blue 371, dark blue 373, dark grey 375, green and gold 377. All are amazing watches, especially for the cost. Now we just need an SUR in Red!
I have the titanium/sapphire Sur377 green dial with two tone gold. It's a beautiful watch, very comfortable and lightweight due to the titanium case and bracelet.
I did both. I have the blue version of this essentials line and a 9F Grand Seiko as well. No, I have the same essentials, watch in Titanium as well. After owning a SARB035/033 I fell in love with a simple design. I’m in my 50s and I’m quite happy with quartz watches at this point.
Great video! I was feeling disappointed because I missed out on the sarb.. the pre-owned prices are skyrocketing as well. This line of watches could help me scratch the itch 👌
Im just starting to get into watches and i always liked seiko but never owned one. You’ve convinced me that this will be my first seiko starter! Thanks so much for this video! Would love to throw a black leather band on this
I bought this watch a few weeks ago from Macy's (major sale). My first real watch per say and I love it. I wear it everyday. The silver/ white background has a really nice brushed look to it. I'm not enthused about the band, and I'm thinking about getting a nice stainless steel mesh tbh
I just ordered mine today only paid $130. What a hidden gem. clean sleek and could be very dressy. Going to buy dark brown leather straps so I can switch up the band
These SUR's are soooooooo fantastic. I now have a 307 silver on brown leather, 309 blue, 311 black on black leather, 377 titanium green, and a 371 titanium light blue. Stainless or titanium, 100 meters, durable, accurate, beautiful, and yes - sapphire!
@@relosapulso I think the stainless look and feel better. The weight and color/polish of the stainless, and especially the bracelet on the stainless are much nicer. That said, the colors on the titanium dials are brighter. Overall, I prefer the stainless.
I have had this watch for just over two weeks and it's extremely accurate, within a second over two weeks. The tick on the second hand doesn't land on the second markers for most of the dial, which is slightly irritating. Also the silver second hand with a silver dial combined with glare from the glass doesn't make it always easy to see the second hand. They say that the sapphire is antireflective and that's simply not true. Apart from that it's the most wearable watch in my collection. I love it, and have just ordered the SUR312 gold on silver model, because like white dial watches.
Wah this is a beautiful watch! Found out it has an equally gorgeous sibling with a black dial (SUR311). Thanks for the chilled commentary and showcase, great video.
@@tentimestwenty I agree, in a perfect world, we own all 3, switch between black and white during weekdays then go blue in the weekend. But hey with this price I guess it's not unattainable!
What a gem. Baby SARB, perhaps? What a killer dress watch for the money. Scored a deal, $80CAD on the local classifieds. Despite the typical Seiko bracelet, this watch is incredibly underrated. Sapphire for $80? Home run. Such a clean dress/sporty piece
This dial is beautiful. Browsing the local classifieds for Seikos this week and I stumbled upon the sunburst blue dial variant. Gorgeous dial, can't go wrong with blue dials. Snagged it for about $65 preowned, I was astounded. Incredible value for money even at a few hundred dollars. And this watch actually does come with sapphire from the factory, but as you said, the lack of an AR coating. Definitely my now go-to dress watch. Seiko hit yet another grand slam.
I bought this because I prefer the quartz movement over the automatic, it's thin and not too large in diameter, 100 meter water resistance, sapphire crystal--it just checks all the boxes for me. I bought a more expensive bracelet just because you mentioned that as a weak point (but the one that it came with seems just fine to me). I love this watch so much that I bought the black SUR311, blue SUR309, and green SUR377, as they are all similarly thin, etc. I've looked into "modding" and watch building, but I haven't seen any options that are thin like this. Do you know what the dial diameter is? I'd like to buy a fun dial and set of hands. I've looked at the Seiko web site but there are no specifications that are that specific! Thanks!
Why do people complain that you have to replace quartz every 2 years? You have to service mechanical watches every few years too and that's way more expensive...
You have to replace the battery every 2 years. If you do that a good quartz movement will last 30 or more years before needing an overhaul. You have to service a mechanical watch every 5-10 years.
Versatile Dial size and style, high accuracy due to quartz, date function, 100m of water resistance, lume, sapphire crystal, sunburst dial...the value for money is just amazing for this watch. The only disadvantage is the poor band, I put it on a canvas strap instead and to me this is just the perfect everyday watch.
The specifications say it is a silver dial, but in pictures and video's it looks more like white. Does it actually look like silver in proper daylight/sun or is it really close to white? Not a fan of silver, so if that is the case id rather buy the one with the black dial.
I got a blue one and it is beautiful! Then I found out that there was a white dial one and I have placed an order for that too. The price is incredibly low for the quality. It is also almost the same size and specs as Seiko Titanium SUR377 series. The only difference seems to be the Titanium being used in SUR377.
Supposedly, Seiko watches are commonly "modified," and I'd like to get a different dial for it, but I haven't seen any specification sheet that tells the diameter of the dial.
@@Ab01-p6p Have the SUR307 (silver dial) and SUR309 (blue dial) both with sunray finish. The Sapphire crystal really adds to the value. Would like to upgrade the bracelets. Feels great on the wrist. Wear formal and casual. Would not be bad to have one in your collection.
Hey Guys, does anyone know if there are spare links for the Seiko SUR307? The band is too tight and I tried the micro adjustments and are still uncomfortable for me. If half links aren’t an option, any watchbands that would fit and suit the style that you can recommend? Thank you!

It does about half the dial, but i guess it's ever so slightly rotated. At this price it's better than most Seikos for sure. Citizen tends to be a bit better. I don't really care if the time is accurate over weeks.
Hi! someone told me that quartz watches life span is 20-30years because of the components would worn out the brand is seiko to be precise is it true? :D
It all depends on how you treat your watch and the watch itself. For example luxury quartz watches like some models of Grand Seiko, Omega or Breitling can last a lifetime with no issues and with proper care and service might serve indefinitely (quartz Grand Seikos need to be serviced only once every 50 years according to the company). On the other hand if you own a no name watch from Aliexpress for $5, it can crap out in like a couple of weeks.
markers are misaligned on this one , you can see with a naked eye, always the misalignment made me run away and don't look back in regret from any watch showcase because when i see misalignment on where second hand stop at the markers makes me cringe a little
