    The running form that Shalane has compared to Gwen's is very noticeable. Shalane makes it look effortless and Gwen looks all hunched up like she is wasting a lot of energy.

    • @rodrigorios3271
      @rodrigorios3271 3 роки тому +11

      It is easy to be labelled a “hater” for this kind of comment but personally I think it is a fair one. I’m a fan of Gwen. I have followed her career from her time in Triathlon. But I have always thought that her running form is not the best. Shalane really leans forward and opens her stride. Gwen on the other hand runs almost as if she is trying to walk very fast. IMHO, she has so much untapped potential that will (hopefully) be unlocked the day she decides to open up her stride, push back those shoulders and jump in the air in front of her. That is not an easy thing to do though. Even while standing Gwen keeps the posture that she has when running (shoulder rolled forward and spine not fully extended). I say all of this respectfully, of course! And I’m just a sport enthusiast. No expert!

    • @drym3943
      @drym3943 3 роки тому +1

      i don't think it is a problem, it is probably the way her upper body is. Sure she can improve her stride to be a bit more smooth. But i don't consider her form bad even in comparison with shalane.

    Yes, I love this! That's what running feels like. (Minus the superstar training partners and jaw-dropping scenery in my case, but otherwise...) The workout is what it's about, the key narrative unit.

      @@GwenJorgensen ohhh... That`s also what I wonder to know... recoveries... walking or gentle jog. Anyway the group went from easy "slows" 80`s down to 69!!! but keep the form and relaxed run!!! Marvelous track, relaxing surroundings by threes, very shaded... birds wistlings, great !!! guess no strong winds too!!! Good quality work and distance run!!!

    My age is 13 and my 5k pb is 17:40 please can you tall me what is my tampo pace

    • @omgiheartpie
      @omgiheartpie 3 роки тому

      If you are fit enough to run 17:40 right now, you should be running your tempos at 6:10/mile, but since you are so young and likely have not had the time to build a big base, I would be running your tempos at 6:20/mile.
      The general rule of thumb is that your tempo pace should be something like 5k pace (for you that's 5:40/mi;e) PLUS 30 seconds. You have great potential if you're already running this quickly, keep it up!

    What is tempo running..??

    • @diegoimenes73
      @diegoimenes73 3 роки тому +2

      Tempo runs are a type of threshold training called maximal steady-state training. The goal of threshold training is to perform tempo runs slightly below or at the lactate threshold level

    • @krakhour2
      @krakhour2 3 роки тому +1

      tempo running is a controlled pace just below your threshold value for a set distance. Not all out but a good stiff effort.
