I think Meghan wore those colors to honor the women of the charity she was giving a speech at that day. Those were their logo colors, which could be seen in their logo just over her shoulder near the podium where she delivered the short speech that day. I believe she chose to become patron to that charity.

They would have great difficulty doing this show with Kate`s or Princess Diana`s outfits, which are really classy couture.
