Blimey, it’s weird seeing cars from the early 2000’s ending up being dumped and unloved I remember seeing forecourts full of these brand new. Well done with your perseverance and patience, your videos make me feel happy and my wife keeps giving me ‘the look’ when I burst out laughing, keep it up fella😀👍🏻
It’s a good spare car, you can’t save them all but look how the Audi is mangelhaft and the Rover with its abuse to climate is still in reasonable good shape ..
@@kwdroneflights2374 Bullshit . The car was compared to French and Italian cars way and way better and could meet up on bodywork the Germans . Japanese electrics, and a interior what’s used top notch upholstery . Yeah piece of crap . The Germans made terrible cars in the 80-90’s. You never heard a German talking trash about their German Brands. British always complain and mock their own . And see what happened ? What could have been a great brand today is gone. It’s a pity . Welcome BYD and remember Roewe 750?
Ben is not an amateur, he is a proper mechanic having worked for VW and it shows. Excellent videos and like all good mechanics in front of a camera, he makes you feel that you are in the garage there with him. Very impressed!
A proper mechanic wouldn't have an engine that's not run for 10 years on the rev limiter without at least having a look at the timing belt. It's all for the camera , sometimes he's entertaining, intuitive and pretty knowledgeable, other times he's an absolute tit.
@@neilwalsh4058Did he at least check oil level and feel / smell? If there’s too little oil or if there’s water or fuel in it, you might as bin the engine, because it will be destroyed in a minute. If I was having a go, I’d put in some old oil I’ve saved from one of my excessively loved vehicles! Their oil is nowhere near done and probably will be better than what’s in a long abandoned car. I wouldn’t put new oil in it purely to see if it’ll run. Doubles your costs if you determine there’s nothing can be done to save it.
Rover immobiliser works by turning the ignition on and pressing one of the buttons until the beeping stops, may need a battery in the fob 👍 but it will work I guarantee 💯 Great video👌
The key code he noticed ( f.e. 8632) is when the beep doesn’t stop and your remote is empty or broken : you put key in the lock , turn right 8 6 left , 3 right , 2 left and you open se door and can start without remote . But in this case fuel pump has ceased to be : clean or replace .
JUST PLEASE CLEAN IT AND PUT IT BACK ON THE ROAD! I’m really not a Rover fan but it clearly wants some love…..plus that Rover Casette radio has not been tested yet….
Don't know what time you put this video up? I was on the edge thinking how will I get through the weekend without Tasty Classics. I'm currently overjoyed ❤❤
I was a fan of the rovers I had a 45 , a 213 a 214 all good cars , I think that 25 has shown its still alive and deserves a new lease of life , great video I enjoyed it a lot
Gonna sound crazy but they are a genuinely good, high revving engine. They used the 1.8 in the lotus Elise. They do have their problems but that 1.4 is the most powerful Naturally aspirated 1.4 ever put into production.

Cracking little motors! I've still got a 1.4 25 but she's been off the road for a few years now and is acting as a storage unit! I will get her back on the road though!
I’ve got an r reg rover 114 still on its original head gasket. If they are correctly maintained they shouldn’t give any trouble.most important. Antifreeze and oil changes. Regularly and you will be fine
I know this was nearly 2 weeks ago and am not even half way thru the video but this is bringing back memories for me when a (hash-smoking) mate bought a similar vintage Rover and it had a loose battery lead. Every time the circuit was broken you had to go thru some elaborate sequence of turns of the ignition-key: 5 left; wait; 4 right; wait; 1 left; wait; 5 right; I'd never seen anything as painful and have never seen it again - thank god 😅
I love that you don't have to be knowledgeable about fixing cars to enjoy it! Cuz I'll be honest, I've not really got a clue, but I just bloody love watching!
Every rover k-series i ever worked on or serviced, Never had any oil showing on the dipper. They did love to burn it & i'm convinced the lack of oil put extra stress on the cooling system
To be fair the Rover 200/25 was a decent small car from Rover. It was developed on a shoestring and the guys at Longbridge did a great job. The fact that the Achilles heel is actually ok surely means this car deserves a chance? The interior once stripped out could be shampooed and pressure washed then it won’t be too bad. The 25 is the ‘grandson’ of the Austin 1300 and isn’t rotted so another reason to try and save it. Hope someone buys it Ben.
Great video, CILL CAM, what a great idea, been there a few times in the past myself wondering if a car will lift when the cill is made from rolled up newspapers and filler so I know what you were looking for, but fear not, solid as a rock! Never buckled an inch! I’ve got a Morris minor I’m restoring and every time I stick my head inside the smell is glorious, old leather and wood, smells fantastic, defo a new addition to Bens air fresheners! Keep up the good work sir, your channel is fantastic!
Love to see it cleaned by a detailer see how good they are doing this one and if they take it on ...go on give it love ...great video fantastic channel the best on u tube I'm sure
Definitely the best channel on youchoob!……. Would love to see you get that Austin back on the road, it’ll be coolest thing ever! 🙌🏻 Love the channel Ben keep them coming!
All old cars need to be respected and preserved as being part of motoring history, it's all too easy to scrap them and before you know it there are none left for future generations to see and enjoy these vehicles.
I actually look forward to Friday's to watch your channel, and I follow mat Armstrong etc too, but yours is just great to watch please don't change your format 👌
I just watch you tube these days, alsorts of fix it, renovation, build it,&sailing channels, finding it hard to keep up with them because I keep watching your channel, one thing you could do to gain more money from UA-cam is encourage watchers to let the adverts run rather than skip?keep going good luck
Absolutely brilliant, this is the thing I like to see. A dead donkey given a new lease of life 👌🏻❤️. I have a 2004 R25 as my current daily driver. I think they’re great little cars
I really admire your stamina Ben, well done. I do the same thing. I would have given it a clean and see how it came up, that model was not sold out here in Australia, so rare!
And just like that, after a weekend of binge watching, I'm now hooked on another twatting car channel😅 top effort mate, you make exciting out of the mundane.
When you disconnect the battery, you need to press a few times on the unlock button of the fob (the one without the lock picture on), to resynchronise the fob with the 5AS immobiliser. Not sure on the 25s, whether they had the "friendly immobilisation" on the 5AS alarm system whereby the fob is "excited" by a copper coil around the ignition barrel, which sends a signal out to the fob to send back the required handshake code to allow you to start the car. I'm only a Mini owner, but the alarm box is the same.
ah, the good, old, K series. had a Freelander with one of these in that did the head gasket thing. Fixed it, new long bolts and nice 2 piece new style Land Rover head gasket and ground out the water passages in the head and also added the LR extra water pipe kit, sorted and ran well...until the missus wrote if off 3 weeks later! Nice mk3 Capri though!
Nice to get it back to live again, but not worth to restore it complete is the right dissension for this Rover but for parts it is interesting for keeping other 25s on the road ! Car is not looking to bad and the chassis is not to rusty so who now s ..... Love the video and to be honest when i wake up on a Friday morning i now their will be a new video of Tasty Classics !!! See you on the next one !!
As someone that had several Austin's back in the day and a Rover 25, the 25 is far more Austin than Rover. It reminded me of the Allegro, a car I had many years before.
This is fast turning into the best Car channel on UA-cam. Well done.
I think ita partly because it's not always the same, another BMW, another hyper car, another American v8 on Holly carbs.....
Very kind words mate i'm giving it a good go!

Get it back on the road, do it, do it 😂
Agreed, this is about as much of a classic as my Vauxhall Adam but it still needs some Tasty Classics love 😁
Enthusiasts are restoring the "new" 75 already so hell, why not. It's eligible for owners club membership...
@@terminusaquo1980 this is a lot more of a classic than your Adam. Rover doesn't even exist anymore.
