A HUEVOOOOOOOOOOO CABRONEEEEES. Legion es de sus discos mas chingones.
Yes! It looks and sounds to me that hiring new guitarist, Taylor Nordberg was a step back up from a few years ago, when the other (still current) guitarist, Kevin Quirion just couldn't handle the complexity of some of the original leads from songs written by former Deicide guitar players that are no longer in the band (but the music they wrote are still parts of songs that Deicide still owns and plays). For example, the mind blowing 60 second long lead that Ralph Santolla, (r.i.p.) wrote and killed playing it, on "Homage For Satan". It's the first (32:46) of the 2 leads in the song. The second lead that is played at (34:32) the end of the song is good also, (written by Jack Owen) but not quite as complex or as difficult to play. When Kevin played lead #1 in that song, it was terrible. He just couldn't pull it off. I just saw Taylor, the new guitarist, take that lead and stuck it pretty well! ...So, now Kevin must forfeit the duties of playing it to Taylor, while he will play the less difficult lead #2 to end the song. I'm happy about that because that first lead #1 (sorry, Kevin...but it) deserves to be played, heard & we should be able to hear it played correctly! Now, as for how well Taylor performs the rest of the songs, I'll check him out, but if he handled that first lead in Homage... without messing up, I have faith in his playing for the others. I can't wait to see it...
Awesome setlist! I thought that their debut album was pretty good and legion was technically spectacular and an all around great album. I didn't like what they did much after that. Looks like this set is mostly from the first two albums which would is great. I seen deicide live when they were on tour for legion. They were really good then too.
A buevoooooo.
