- Should you release singles or albums? There are pros and cons to each format, and musicians have been debating for decades. But now, in a grudgematch for the ages, we're going to answer this question once and for all.
And whichever side of the debate you favor, right now you can release an album OR a single worldwide through CD Baby for just $4.99.

It's a toss up. At this point, I'm of the mindset that you release the singles first, and then quietly release them all on a physical album. This gives you the best of both worlds. I'm a performing musician and, believe or not, physical albums sell much better at merch tables than digitals. Especially if I make the physical album a 'limited edition' or collectible item of some sort. But I do occasionally get the person who says they get all their music from the cloud. I that point, I'll offer them a digital bundle with a catalogue of my music. I do love that consistently releasing singles gives you a constant stream of value content that you can use to gain more fans and engage more.
I do all 3, single albums 1 to 3 tracks under 30 minutes, ep's 4 to 6 tracks and albums 7 or more tracks
this is #Psychedelic art ❤ love cdbaby, you're talanted weirdos! ❤
This is actually good lol. Articulates both sides exactly how they sound in most artists' head. I choose *boffum*
Artists need not funny things but strong reliable data. This is what really matters.
I agree with the cassette deck
Cassettes forever!
Thanks for the anxiety attack!🙃
$4.99?😵😵 for how long?
For... a liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiittle while longer. (No specific ETA for a change yet, but don't wait!) Also, you can always stock up on submissions now at the current price and then just distribute the music whenever it's ready.
