This piece is the kind where it makes you have so many emotions: happiness, sadness, hope... It's so beautiful.
I love that the feather in the beginning truly symbolizes Forest, isn't he just floating in the wind, floating from thing to thing just doing really what comes to him. When he puts the feather in the book it really represents him finally finding a place to live and be happy, then at the end the feather floating away back into the breeze symbolizing the beginning of his sons journey.
Our precious dog just left us for good. I can see him now as a sky, as the wind, as abutterfly, his disguise made me feel better. This song is what I need to hear right now because yes, it's full of emotions and your not even sorry for it is still beautiful. It's life and its just full of appreciation. Life is full of bumps, but at the end of the day, we can still overcome it, w/c for my case, it's my emotion. It's a sad week for me, this song is mellow, but instead of making me cry a lot, it made me feel lighter and put a smile on my face when ever I remember him.
Sorry for your loss, and even two years on something like that will never leave your mind.

So sorry to hear of your loss . I to found this wonderful song as a fitting memorial to an unbelievably wonderful dog that passed away . We rescued "Odie" not knowing what he was as his former mistress had been very ill . He just looked at me with his eye's and I was hooked . When we got him cleaned up , it turned out he was a long haired English cream dachshund and a very lite colored one at that . We also discovered that he was 9 yrs old at the time . We'd just opened an art gallery and brought him with us so we could "bond " and he wound up becoming the gallery mascot and the doggie mayor of the town and the winner of so many hearts from all over the world . We actually had folks drive hours to come to the gallery not to see my paintings , but just to visit "Odie "and play with him . We had this little four legged bundle of joy for four fantastic years and we had many great adventures together before he succumbed to cancer . We miss him dearly still , and when ever I hear this song I can't keep my eyes from watering up as I envision him running to greet people . And I wonder , just who rescued who .

at the end and the musik started again....... I cried.
Forrest Gump is the theme for my marching band's 2017 show and every time that the show starts my heart bursts because I love this song so much
