1000 Homo DJs (basically the Band "Ministry" performing as a different band) did a cover of this and it is devastatingly brutal. It's as good as the original. You won't regret it.
I saw Black Sabbath in 1970 and they were incredible live. Their second album Paranoid had just came out and their live version of "War Pigs" was unbelievable.
I was 16 when this album came out, and Black Sabbath was one of my favorites. So much creative music coming out in the early 70's. So glad people are still discovering the best of those times.
I love how Black Sabbath songs just fade in and then fade out towards infinity and like the song never ends the riff just drones on forever out there and this just happened to be the moment in time you drifted close enough to it to catch it.
Terence Butler's bass is wicked on this tune. Few appreciate how good it is. The slides up and down the neck are awesome. And if you want HEAVY bass, listen to "Into the Void". It is so heavy, you can't upload it, you can only download it.
I know it's Geezer and as I bass player, he is one of my absolute favorites. But most people have no idea what his first name is nor why he is called Geezer. They also don't know that Ozzy's real first name is John. I always though a great answer on Jeopardy would be "John, Anthony, Terence, and William" to whoch the answer would be "What is Black Sabbath?"
The first time I heard Soundgarden I thought they sounded like Black Sabbath. Years later I found this song. This is the Black Sabbath that Sound Garden reminded me of. The bass & guitar together create such a powerful force. Then Ozzy’s voice cuts perfectly through all the heavy riffage. I love this song. Black Sabbath - Looking For Today Black Sabbath - Voodoo Black Sabbath - NIB Black Sabbath - Neon Knights Black Sabbath - Snowblind
Vol. 4 presented another powerful display of riffing, seamlessly incorporating fresh new elements into their music. Other standout tracks include the epic entropy of “Wheels of Confusion,” the faster-paced "Tomorrow's Dream," the mesmerizing "Snowblind," the darkly progressive "Cornucopia," and the ominously intense "Under the Sun / Every Day Comes and Goes." They even threw in a curveball with the unexpected balladry of the chilling "Changes." Even in this haunting number, there's still an element of pure power shining through. Vol. 4 is a wild ride from start to finish on which Sabbath took us on a journey and left us begging for more. This album is pure metal magic.
The monstrous (in a good way) Geezer Butler on bass (also main lyricist until Dio joined), the legendary Tony Iommi on guitar, and Bill Ward on drums, who doesn't get the attention of certain other drummers but ranks among the GOATs for sure.
I’ve always loved the drum solo on this song, great jams! Tommy Iommi is the genius behind Black Sabbath; kept the band going through several vocalist changes. Geezer Butler (bass I believe) wrote a lot of their lyrics; honestly Black Sabbath has some amazing lyrics. Don’t forget to check out songs from the DIO years: Heaven and Hell, Children of the Sea… For more Ozzy, check out Into the Void, and Fairies Wear Boots!
Just as the bass player in Blizzard of Oz, also wrote most of the lyrics. Yet Ozzys wife gave full credit to only Ozzy! Se is also the one to block the full name of the band as Ozzy instead of & the Blizzard of Oz. Which became the albums title instead.
He's seen the future and he's left it behind. Amazing song. Bought the album when it came out and have listened to it hundreds of times (thousands?). Still my favorite band. OG Ozzy era.
Tony Iommi (eye-OWE-me), the great lead guitar player and music writer, invented metal. The lyrics are by the awesome bass player, Geezer Butler. The drummer, Bill Ward, is an incredible pioneer in metal drumming. No one was doing anything remotely like this in 1972.
Bill's drumming is so phantastic on this one. It has quite a jazzy feeling. You have to do Black Sabbath and War Pigs as well from these early years. NIB is also very cool. BTW you HAVE to listen to A Gadda Da Vida by Iron Butterfly (the full 17 Minutes!). That's where the heavy drumming really started and some critics even see in it the beginning of Metal (together with Helter Skelter and Sunshine of Your Love)
I'm a fan of all the Sabbath studio albums with Ozzy (yes, even the last two). Their first 6 studio albums were especially filled with outstanding tracks. Please make it your business to listen to more Black Sabbath, especially with Ozzy. ORIGINAL LINE UP: Tony Iommi- Lead & Rhythm Guitar (King of guitar riffs) Geezer Butler - Bass (not enough live footage showing how talented this guy is) Bill Ward - Drums (Beats on his drum set like it owes him money) Ozzy Osbourne - Vocals (That iconic voice) Highly recommended - War Pigs (Live in Paris - 1970)
You can't go wrong with some Sabbath. Tony Iommi (Eye-oh-me) on guitar, Geezer Butler on bass, and Bill Ward on the skins. (Of course, Ozzy on vocals, and the odd harmonica) You two need to hear "Symptom of the Universe", "Hand of Doom", "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" and the song that gave them their name "Black Sabbath" BTW - Winnie the Pooh is SO metal.

LATELY, IVE BEEN TAKING YOUR SONG UPLOADS WITH A (sorry for caps) grain of salt, but today....TODAY, You furthured My education of classic British heavy metal! I'd never heard this hidden track from thisa Sabbath album!!!! Thank YOU!!!!!
I had just turned 14 years old. It was Halloween night, 1977 and I was with 8 other people in an old VW bug going to see Boston, Heart, and Black Sabbath at McNichols Sports Arena, Denver, Colorado. (Ticket price? $4.85) Since I was one of the guys, my older sister had me in the back seat with her beautiful 18-year-old friend Anna on my lap. My sister's boyfriend at the time was driving and my sister's friend Jackie and my sister were in front handling the tunes. I have no idea what tunes they were playing because I had Anna on my lap and I could only think of one thing that I desperately DID NOT want to happen. I was 14. Luckily, it did not happen. The concert was KILLER (what I can remember of it...there was a lot of smoking going on). The 70' baby!!
😂😂😂 Man, I must say. I love your story that could have been a very embarrassing situation. But you would have laughed at it later down-the-line. Peace out!!!😂😂
This is from their rather understated 4th album (titled, approximately enough, "Black Sabbath, Vol. 4") where they started experimenting with their sound a little more. They tempered their hard rock/ blues with longer instrumental passages, allowing Tony Iommi (guitar), Geezer Butler (bass) and Bill Ward (drums) to wander into more funky, almost jazzy territory, while still remaining EXTREMELY hard (their interplay on this is seamless).
Volume 4 must be one of the best rock albums ever. It’s crammed full with juicy black sabbathness. Still on my regular play lists so many decades after buying it.
One of my favorite songs from this time is After Forever. A lot of people accused Sabbath of being anti religion but this song throws that back in their faces. Really cool song you should check out.
ROB SQUAD NOW YOU ARE INTO MY TEENAGE YEARS BALLPARK WITH THIS ONE!!! I FIRST DISCOVERED BLACK SABBATH WHEN I WAS 13 YEARS OLD IN THE YEAR 1970! I FIRST HEARD THEM IN A JUKEBOX, AT A LOCAL CANDY STORE, WHERE MYSELF AND MY FRIENDS USED TO GO AND PLAY PINBALL JUST ABOUT EVERY DAY!!! ONE OF THE SONGS ON THE JUKEBOX WAS BLACK SABBATH PARANOID!! ON THE B SIDE WAS WAR PIGS!! BETWEEN THAT RECORD AND THE JAMES GANG'S FUNK #49, WE PROBABLY PLAYED THE HECK OUT OF THOSE TWO RECORDS WHILE WE PLAYED PINBALL!!! I WENT AND BOUGHT THE PARANOID ALBUM AT THAT POINT AND ALSO WENT BACK AND BOUGHT THEIR FIRST ALBUM WHICH WAS ONLY OUT ABOUT A YEAR AT THAT TIME!! I BELIEVE THIS ALBUM, VOL 4, CAME OUT IN 1973!! THIS WAS THE SOUND THAT GOT ME TO BE A HEAVY METAL FAN AND A BLACK SABBATH FAN AND A HARD ROCK FAN!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤
One of my favorite Sabbath tunes!!! 🎸😎 I’m a Teacher. Years ago when I had to Substitute, before full employment, I invoked this song. I’m now 54 years. I was in a class, doing attendance, and this youth came into class a minute late -long hair, Sabbath shirt. I didn’t bust him for being late, just asked to to to take his seat. I also said “cool Sabbath shirt”. And he said with attitude “What do you know about Sabbath, old man”. I have some some knowledge, that their first album came out the year I was born, a fact about each man in the band, and that this tune was a favorite. His jaw dropped. We had the class that I was paid to teach -yet, if you are like 16 years, your 40+ year Teacher may likely know a damn more than you do.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that after 3 years of trying that this will be the year that you finally react to the band Rival Sons. Start with the song Pressure and Time!
Tony Iomi is the regular guitar player who cut the tips of his fingers at his job with machines he put something where his tips were & then taped those to his fingers & he changed his guitar tones & that’s why he’s goated & Tony geezer on drums
Original Sabbath fan here from the English Midlands. Made my day to see you youngsters (lol) reacting to this great track. One of my favourite 2/3 tracks by the band. I actually do support modern music and acts eg The National, Wolf Alice, PJ Harvey, Low, London Grammar etc. But in terms of rock and metal . I think the holy trinity of Led Z, Black S and Deep Purple are still unequalled. ps of course 50 plus years ago only "my generation" were into music like this.
Black Sabbath have some of the best riffs in rock music. Y'all definitely need more Black Sabbath. Check out "Sympton of the Universe" next. It'll be your next favorite song by them most likely 😅
Next up for Black Sabbath should be 'The Wizard'! As a Lord of the Rings Fan, Geezer Butler said he based this song on Gandolf. Ozzy's harmonica playing is epic on this song!
It's unbelievable how much fun you still have after your bad luck with the blocked videos. I hope your efforts were not in vain. You certainly made me laugh with your Pooh humor in this reaction. Tony Iommi is one of the best (metal) guitarists! He always looks calm and down to earth in interviews. A musician and person that many look up to!
Such a great reaction, well done. I love Black Sabbath, all members are fantastic, what an influential band. Tony Iommi is the absolute RIFF Master but his overall guitar playing talent can be overlooked sometimes. I love the number of different riffs, changes, transitions and solos he puts into one song, which would be enough to create several songs with. Amazing guitarist.
as an older man these are part of my youth and just love the reaction you have to the music it is brilliant and this album I bought in the 70's and still have it and also now bought a turntable again and the sound is just f$^£$^g fantastic
In addition to Ozzy, you have... *Tony Iommi on guitar. He is left handed and when he was young he accidentally cut off the tips of 2 of the fingers on his right hand, the one that works the neck of the guitar. He made plastic tips so he could play and down tuned his guitar. Tony has written some of the most iconic riffs ever. *Geezer Butler on bass. He wrote most of the lyrics in the early years. *Bill Ward on drums. Very underrated drummer. Not usually mentioned among best drummers but he certainly should be in that conversation. He laid down some sick beats.
My favorite song off Vol 4. Played this album till I wore it out! These guys were so talented, They would at times put elements of jazz in their songs. Genius!
My second Black Sabbath album...Masters of Reality was fist...I was in the 8th grade when this came out. Black Sabbath literally raised my consciousness at an early age.
One of my favorite Sabbath songs. I actually discovered it after hearing a cover done by a band called 1000 Homo DJs. They were, I believe, a side project of the lead singer of the band Minestry. The amazing thing about Tony Iommi is that he had an accident at a metal shop and had the tips of two of his fingers cut off but still created some of the greatest riffs of all time!
Sabbath had the same classic lineup from the start in 1968 until Ozzy left the band in 1978. Ozzy Osborne vocals, Tony Iommi guitar, Geezer Butler bass, Bill Ward drums
If you’re looking for a HEAVY heavy riff, from the very beginning - the opening track, “Wheels of Confusion”. Love you guys getting into Black Sabbath.
Supernaut, hell yeah we used to smoke blonde Lebanese hash and Crank Volume 4 way up on my MCS series stereo system in 1980 highschool years 😊🤟🍺🍻🥖🍺🍻🥖✌️♥️🎸 seen um in 1982 with Dio and then with Ozzy later on and on and on and on and on and on and on......... and beyond 😊🤟
I've seen both Ozzy and Sabbath in concert on multiple occasions. Watching Tony Iommi shredding those legendary rifs is one of the greatest things I've ever experienced.
Sabbath was touring in support of this album, they were in NYC for their show at the Garden. Frank Zappa happened to be in town also. At the time this was Franks favorite lick. He contacted Tony and asked if they minded if he joined them on stage that evening. Tony, of course, was like HELL YA! Unfortunately, Sabbath was dissatisfied with the the sound set up got back to Frank and explained the situation and gave him an open ended invite. Apparently the stars never aligned properly after that night. Would have been epic.
The band..drums the great Bill ward..bass..can't forget geezer butler..and guitar is the riff master himself Tony iommi..lyrics were mostly wrote by geezer..all music by tony..and the drums incredible..that is black sabbath
You guys have to listen to my favorite Black Sabbath song from their Sabotage album: Symptom of the Universe. A huge influence on the later Thrash Metal style (especially the drumming of Bill Ward but also the crushing riff of Tommi Iomi) and I won't spoil the song but the end is one of the most beautiful thing they ever played. Not mentioned enough along classics like War Pigs or Iron Man but Symptom of the Universe is a stone cold classic.
Classic! Kicks Ass! So glad you are enjoying the music you've experienced all of this time. Music is not only beautiful, but also necessary for the entire human race. Life would be so empty without music. Music is Love. ❤
Ok at 499K I had to hit the sub button. I have enjoyed your reviews, Thank you. Everytime I listen to SUPERNAUT my ears ring as I crank up the volume! It will also melt your ice cream....
For me it's the most straight up, hard driving rocker they ever did. Only Paranoid comes close, but this song is longer, has an incredicle riff, and Tony just rips it up on that Gibson SG. One of my all time favorites. Love that you are getting deeper into their catalog, keep going.

My second Black Sabbath album...Masters of Reality was fist...I was in the 8th grade when this came out. Black Sabbath literally raised my consciousness at an early age.
Bill Ward is one of the most underrated rock drummers out there.
At first I thought the guitar riff sounded like Jimi, but wow….unmistakable Sabbath
Man, you folks are killin' it this year already!!!!!! Always fresh! Thanks!!!
Tony Iommi is and always will be the RIFF Master. A living legend!
Excellent reaction to an amazing band!
Sabbath had the same classic lineup from the start in 1968 until Ozzy left the band in 1978.
Ozzy Osborne vocals,
Tony Iommi guitar,
Geezer Butler bass,
Bill Ward drums
You'll love "Hand of Doom" from the Paranoid album.
If you’re looking for a HEAVY heavy riff, from the very beginning - the opening track, “Wheels of Confusion”. Love you guys getting into Black Sabbath.
You guys should listen to Under The Sun actually this entire album is fire.. love what you are doing ❤
Love the heavy riff on that one
This song went well with the hippy seen, I can picture their heads bobbing up & down to this Black Sabbath song. LoL!👍🎵🎶🎶🎸🎸🥁🎹🎤💜💜🌸
One of my fave sabbath songs, (has been since i heard it back in the early80s)
They came to town twice in the early '70s. It was a treat each time.
Saw them play this at the Hollywood Bowl in 72, another great band, Captain Beyond opened for them.
Bill Ward on drums, Geezer Butler on bass, and Toni Iommi on guitars.
This song is unbelievable and what also is is that I don't think I've heard it before.
This is one of those songs I just HAVE to play so loud the other side of the world can hear it...DID YOU HEAR IT???
Enjoyed your reaction. I still have the LP, love the Vertigo swirl record labels from the early 70's. Keep em' comin'
Solid reaction folks!
Classic! Kicks Ass!
So glad you are enjoying the music you've experienced all of this time.
Music is not only beautiful, but also necessary for the entire human race.
Life would be so empty without music.
Music is Love.
❤
Tony Iommi on guitar, Geezer Butler on bass and Bill Ward on drums.
count down! no, not for the new year, but half a million subs. congratulations rob and amber!
Great sabbath tune
Ok at 499K I had to hit the sub button. I have enjoyed your reviews, Thank you. Everytime I listen to SUPERNAUT my ears ring as I crank up the volume! It will also melt your ice cream....
Favorite Sabbath album. Ty for reaction!
For me it's the most straight up, hard driving rocker they ever did. Only Paranoid comes close, but this song is longer, has an incredicle riff, and Tony just rips it up on that Gibson SG. One of my all time favorites. Love that you are getting deeper into their catalog, keep going.
