    I like you videos, thanks for posting. I have a diesel ram 2500 with air bags but my payload is 2,011 lbs. I know I can handle the weight of the 31g but if tongue weight is coming in at 3,400 loaded, I’ll need to reconsider. Was your hitch weight 3,400lbs at the end of this video?

      Hey Jasion. That is the distributed weight not the actual tongue weight. The Weigh safe adjusts that distributed weight but that doesn't change the actual tongue weight. You should come in at 2000 or less in actual tongue weight.

    Terry, you’re videos are PHENOMENAL. I have a 28G and I’ve already watched your video on master bed mod (easy and I can do that one), 31G mods (wife loved some of those too), and happy Jac bed system fixes. Didn’t even know that was a problem with the top bed falling. The foldable seat caving in the middle when in bed mode drives me crazy so I’m hoping adding another leg each and spacing them out with better fasteners does the trick! Thanks again, you rock! Wish I were more handy to be able to do things like the light install under the bed.

    Hi Terry, I’ve been enjoying your detailed videos. My wife and I bought a Momentum 21G a couple months back and it was a bit of a struggle to two with our 1/2 ton truck. We just updated to 3/4 ton Chevy with a Duramax and are very pleased with the performance. We are also considering training in our 21g for a 29g due to the additional space in the separate garage. Our situation is not a typical one since we will most likely not be hauling a lot of toys. Our daughter is in a wheelchair and the rear ramp and open floor plan is great for accommodating her needs. So without heavy “toys” in the garage,
    I’m concerned about tongue weight. The max tongue weight that my truck will accommodate is 1850 lbs. The dry tongue weight of the trailer is spec’d at 1500 lbs, but that doesn’t include the generator, propane,batteries,water etc. So my actual tongue weight will probably be pushing 2000 lbs. Do you think with the proper weight distribution setup, my truck would be able to handle the weight?

      Hi Jake. Thanks for watching. The weight distribution hitch returns weight to the front axle but doesn't really change the tongue weight. It'll be close on the tongue weight if you carry water. You're probably going to stay well under if you don't. There are several people on our 29G/31G Facebook group that pull the 29G successfully with 3/4 ton Duramax trucks.

      Hi Terry, have you needed to adjust the pressure in your tires? I assume they are nitrogen filled. Have you just added air or gone to a dealer that offers nitrogen?

      Hi Terry, we took delivery of our 29G a few days and and really like it. The hitch my dealer set up on my truck is a Curt TruTrack. It has a tongue weight capacity of up to 1500 lbs. My build sheet on the trailer is just under 1600 lbs (but that’s dry weight). I know that the distribution bars help spread the weight to the front wheels of my truck. So with the weight distribution bars, I may be under 1500 lbs on the actual ball of my hitch. So I’m trying to understand if my Curt hitch is suitable for my trailer or if I need to upgrade to a hitch spec’d at 2000 lbs. Does the 1500 lbs rating include the weight distribution bars engaged?

    I really appreciate all of your momentum vids Terry! They are very informative and give me ideas on how to improve my 25g. I love the trailer but as you know, can use some improvements!
    I see that you’ve extended your trailers safety chains and was wondering how you accomplished that. As you know, they are extremely too short for the weigh-safe hitch and get crushed as your trailer articulates left or right. Been debating on getting new steel loops welded back further on the trailer. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

      Thanks Drew! I used a double clevis and 4 more links on each side. I got the same grade chain that GD had on the trailer. Everything came from Tractor supply. It is a good idea to move the chain mounting points on the tongue. There is some interference with the hitch head on very sharp turns.

    How's it tow? I really want a ProPride but the Brinkleys front end won't allow for it. I really don't want a sway monster. Our trailer is every bit of 35'.

      The Weigh Safe has performed flawlessly for us. We tow in all sorts of different configurations with and without the SXS and with and without water in the tanks. We've been able to do so with no issues at all.

    Hi there from Ouray CO! Thank you very much for your demo of the weigh safe! I have a 2022 Outdoors RV 22FQS travel trailer coming in a couple of weeks. I've had my eye on the weigh safe's for a few months; your video was very helpful in making a decision! I tow with an F350 crew cab, long bed big gasser and 4.30 gears. We'll pretty much boondock for 5 years while I still work. Then start doing 1-2 month trips to focus on specific regions of the country.
    The items that peaked my interest in the weigh safe are: most talk of the great weight distribution and sway control it provides, having a hitch long enough that our tail gates can open, and I really like the thought of seeing a real time tongue weight.
    So...I ordered a weigh safe today!
    Safe travels......and a new subscriber now!

    Hi Terry, I was just watching your Weigh Safe video again and think I understood you to say that the head adjustment stays the same on your trailer whether you run with water and your Talon or without water and Talon. Is that because the weight of the Talon offsets the weight of the water? I just purchased a weigh safe for my 29G and will not have significant weight in the garage to offset the water weight. So does that mean that I’ll probably have to make adjustments depending wether or not I carry water?

    In your videos. I find myself referring to them multiple times as I’m trying to get our 29G set up.

      Hey Jake. Thanks for watching. Glad the videos are useful to you. The talon does offset the weight of the water. You will likely have to adjust for carrying water only.

    Terry that’s for the video.
    I new my 31G was over 2000 lbs when I hooked it up last weekend . I had to hook it up with my F150 4x4 (put 5000lbs overloads on it) to move on the driveway . Without my Equalizer (14,000) bars on it. Lowered the camper and I didn’t think the jack would clear the concrete (4”). Move it 20’ back and raised the jack back up. I really didn’t realize their was that much weigh is on the tongue😳. I’m not sure how much mine weights with my Teryx in the garage.
    But I’m pretty sure it’s 12,000lbs +
    Teryx+ 30 gal’s of fuel + 4000 watt Onan Gen. + 100 gal’s water.
    Pull with (Brothers) F250 4x4 diesel. Can’t wait for my F350 4x4 comes in. It’s only been 4 months🥺

      @@mikeruder336 We planned to boondock right from the start and settled on the 31G specifically for that. We've had hookups 1 time since we've had it. The campgrounds are to peopley for me. :)

      @Mike Ruder Ordered my F350 Lariat Diesel 4x4 in late August and it’s getting built the first week of November. Purchased the Weigh Safe Weight Distribution Hitch to go along with it. Hope both last me for years.

    Terry, your videos have been extremely helpful so much that I'm not sure if my truck is big enough for the 31G. I have a F-150 3.5 ecoboost that is rated towing is 11,300 the specs on the 2022 31G is around the 9000 mark I figured it would be close to the 11300 after loading. Do you think this is too heavy for my F-150 with a WDH? The 31G is the only one with the floor plan we cared for. Thanks

      Thanks Bob. Sorry to say but there is no way an F150 no matter how it's optioned would handle one of these trailers. Ours weighs 13,200 loaded. The tongue weight alone will far exceed what the F150 can handle. A 3/4 ton is the bare minimum.

    Weigh Safe's web site says the hitch weighs ~130 pounds.. I would like to find out how much the head assembly weighs that would go onto the truck and back off for storing. I am 67 and in pretty good shape but not sure I want to wrestle that much weight.

    You have to loosen the Allen screw so that your 3/4” bolt will turn more easy. After you have everything adjusted, then don’t forget to tighten your Allen screw back up.

    Having the bar grind noise go away would be great but do the nylon pads affect the sway control? I thought the metal on metal was part of the sway control. Having a dually you probably don't have any but...

      I've noticed no difference in the effectiveness of the hitch with the pads.

    Did that weight say 3400lbs? Im looking to tow my 2 Harleys and tge dealership said I shouldn't have to worry about adjusting tge WD hitch (Reese 17k). Not too sure what I'm looking at loaded VSP unloaded for hauling with the WD hitch. I know these things are front end heavy. Do u ever haul the Talon with NO water and does that make a difference vs. having water? Thanks

      3400 lbs is a pretty normal distributed weight reading for these trailers loaded. That's not tongue weight. I've pulled the trailer in every possible combination with and without water and with and without the Talon. With the Weigh Safe just adjust accordingly once you've input the measured tongue weight and the app tells you where you need to be on distributed weight. The trailer is balanced better with some water so I usually carry some. I couldn't image that you wouldn't have to adjust the WDH as much as the tongue weight fluctuates in different loading conditions. I don't see a tongue weight rating for the Resse 17k but hitches really need to be rated for 2000 lbs of tongue weight for these trailers. We have a Facebook group just for these trailers and 75% have the 20K/2k Weigh Safe or the 20k/2k Blue Ox.

    Thanks for your info, it's been very helpful! I have 31 g, ram 3500 srw and am getting the hitch in a couple of days.. With the ram auto air, when setting it up, do u turn off the airbags during setup or keep them on and measure the ball assuming the bags will always raise it to the same height? It's kind of confusing and figured I'd ask the expert! Thank you!!

      Let the auto-level do it’s thing and set from there. It’s covered in the video.

      @@terryhatfieldmin Thank you for the reply! I did watch the video and got that part. I've texted weigh safe and am waiting to hear back. In the manual it says for every 100 pounds of tongue weight to add 1/8 inch to make the trailer higher, with 1700 pounds it makes a difference. Since it will never sag because of the auto leveling, I was wondering if we skip this step. Sorry to always bug you lol but I appreciate it!

      @@rg9580 No prob. Glad to help. The procedure in the video is what I was told by Weigh Safe. It took a bit of experimenting to get it right because the ball height will change when you connect the weight bars and then the truck needs to re-level itself. I pulled forward and backward in my driveway to help it settle out. Took a few tries to get it exactly right but pulls perfectly now.

      @@terryhatfieldmin I reached out to weighsafe and the below text is directly from them. With your help and theirs I'm excited to get it installed today!
      If you are using any air bag or suspension pack when setting up, you will want to make sure the trailer is level. If you are using airbags you will want to make sure that the air bag suspension is fully inflated and then level the trailer coupler to the tow ball. If you do not have suspension pack we would recommend 1/8" height for every 100lb of tongue weight.

    Sorry if this was asked already but when you first get the hitch with the auto leveling ram, do you put the weight of camper on the hitch let the auto leveling do it's thing then take your measurements for the app?

      Yes. Let the truck reset the height and go from there.

      They do not. Only difference I can tell is the hitch is much quieter with them.

    At the end you show a reading on your weigh safe scale of 3400. Does that mean your tongue weight is now 3400#s? If so, I’m assuming this is why you have a 1 ton that has the payload to accommodate that tongue weight.
    I have a GD 30G that we haul a Goldwing trike that I thought I could pull with a GMC 3/4 ton and a ProPride WD hitch. The truck only has a 2300# payload and the hitch has a rating of 1400#s. My TW is about 1800#s (without water)

      Hi Kelly. No, 3400 lbs is the distributed weight after the bars are on and the hitch is adjusted to what the app says that distributed weight should be. The actual tongue weight with water and the SXS loaded is 1700 lbs. The numbers for your truck are going to be pretty close to the payload limit if the tongue weight is 1800 lbs. Passengers and whatever you have in the bed will; have to be figured into the payload along with the hitch weight and the tongue weight. The Pro Pride is a great hitch but I'd suggest being cautious with it as it's not rated for the amount of tongue weight you have.

    Tung was 1900 without water and SxS.Added water 2200.Put SxS in 3400 lbs tung.Wonder what it is without water with SxS loaded ?

      No sir. 3400 is the distributed weight after the weight bars are on. The tongue is 1700 with the Talon and without water.

    How does this hitch handle sway from high winds, trucks passing, etc? Also, I installed the same valve on my one fresh water tank overflow. Why do you say it has to be left open except when moving?

      The hitch is very solid is all conditions. In continue to be impressed with it. You can't pump water with the valves closed. Those tubes are for overflow but also act as vents for both tanks. That's why they need to be closed only when transporting the trailer.

    Is there a way to remove the bars buy lifting the weight off slightly and using the tool?

      It definitely helps to use the tongue jack to remove weight off the bars. That's what I do and then tap them off the brackets with a dead blow hammer. Same sort of process in reverse as I show in the video to get the bars on.

    Curious what your overall length is from truck front to rear camper bumper on this rig?

    Is a 3/4 ton capable? I was looking at this one & the 353G fifthwheel wondering if my ram can handle them

      Several guys on our 29G/31G Facebook group tow with 3/4 tons. They do fine with these trailers.

      I was wondering the same thing. We are looking at getting a GD31G like yours. I have a Ford F250 Diesel Crew Cab 4X4 with 6 3/4 bed, 3.55 gears, Tow Package and Camper Package and also installed Timbren’s in the rear. The GVWR of the truck is 10,000 lbs, Max Trailer Weight is 15,000/1500 lbs. with a GVWR 25,700 lbs. what’s your take?
