My husband and I try to mimic the faces these guys make at each other. I wouldn't say we're anywhere close to the charm of these toads, but we still make each other laugh.

They're beautiful guys :) I have 9 here at home and I noticed a few things I'd like to put your attention towards, so you can ensure that your guys get the best possible care they need :D Here's a basic care guide for ground-dwelling toads. www.frogforum.net/content/toad-basics-keeping-ground-dwelling-toads-care-sheet-bufo-anaxyrus-spea-scaphiopus-ollotis-alytes-pelobates-125/ It covers all the basics: Terrarium set-up (I can't see the whole tank, but I noticed your guys don't have any green surroundings or anything to interact with, from the camera angle). From personal experience, I would recommend you to use a feeder bowl :) Any wide, flat ceramic bowl will do - it'll avoid your toads swollowing dirt. :) Giving your guys two or more hiding burrows will reduce stress (the bigger one seems to be dominant) and feeding them seperately will ensure you, that both get an equal amount.
Thank you for your concern. I only kept them for a few weeks and then released them again. I was just so surprised on how tame and funny these wild toads are.
I feel bad for these toads especially the smaller one who keeps getting bullied back under the rock and they must be starving , they are eating every worm within a second and then trying to eat each other so glad you let them go they deserve to be free in the wild or belong to a good home
Thanks for the link victorsgrace I was looking for ideas for this one I have. I haven't had toads since I was a kid and I always had the coolest habitats for them. I then lost interest until the kids found one in the yard that was missing a foot and it was recent because the bone was showing . I would have kept her because I read it might effect her in the wild but she healed and could still hop fast and high and was eating so much food. I could tell she wasn't happy living in the man made habitat so I convinced the kids to let her go .
These guys are known as Pocket Toads in old days, because little boys could teach them to hang out in the front pockets of overalls and take them out to scare their sister and feed them.
