I just started watching this video, and I am mesmerized by the fact of her perfection in placing the needle in the proper place. Now I don’t watch a lot of these videos, but I am one who is quite fussy about placing the needle where it really belongs. I also learned a quick lesson about changing direction of thread as at the very top of her stem under the iris. It gives it more texture and visual appeal that the threads will not go all in one direction. I think I will make it a point to see what else she has, and it has motivated me out of my chair this morning to go put something together and start doing some work… Lol.
I only have one mildly critical comment to make, and it happens to everyone. Is it possible to place lights shining so that when you have to put your hand in Front of the piece to work on it, your shadow from your hand does not keep us from seeing clearly where you are putting your needle… That is the only thing that was hard to figure out trying to learn how to do the iris panel. I shared this video and I think it is one of the best I have ever seen, looking forward to more. I really want to learn how to do the detached buttonhole stitch well, and I wasn’t quite sure where to put the needle because of the shadow… Thank you for making this video.

간만에 디테치드 버튼홀 스티치를 요리조리 응용해가며 재미있게 수놓아 보았네요.
기존의 스티치를 어떻게 활용하고 표현하느냐에 따라 또다른 새로운 질감을 만들어내는게 자수의 매력인 것같아요:)
