    Alex you are spot on for the AC Business Class experience! I fly it domestically and internationally (on awards) several times a year and the food is always pretty bad and the service is inconsistent with some amazing crew and some crew who are less than stellar on being customer-focused.
    When you think that the other passengers don't care, trust me, we do. As Canadians we tend to not bring things up in the moment with customer service, but after the fact in the surveys and in emails we're very vocal about soft service delivery! I'm one of those passengers that is definitely calling over for more wine, an additional snack, etc and yes - some crew do seem like you're putting them out for asking, but definitely not all crew.
    Should AC raise the bar and have staff check up on passengers and do more than 1 service and snacks - abso-fricking-lutely! I'm a proud Canadian but when given the option of partner airlines for award flights (I'll keep the paid to maintain status) I will almost always choose a partner airline and enjoy a bit of pampering!

    On an aircraft with standard window shades, I'll always protest when a flight attendant asks me to lower the shade so others can "sleep". I paid for a window! To me, this rarely happens on US airlines but happens on non-US carriers. I look at my ticket as paying for a window, not a seat and I'll go through extensive measures to select a well-aligned window for optimal viewing to make the most of any flight!

    I’ve slept on daytime flights simply to try and get on my new time (Asia toward America 7 am departure) but I KNEW that first leg was my problem to sleep in daylight and didn’t expect anyone else to dim their shades. I brought my eye shades and slept with our cabin “flooded” with lights!

    I call the 787 Dreamliner, the Midliner. Beautiful aircraft with its aerodynamics that features cramped seats and lockable dimmed windows. A330neo and the A350 has it too but only on JAL and Starlux for now as an option. Honestly, would rather fly an aircraft than fly on an aircraft.

    Window shades should be banned from planes. It totally defeats the point of having windows in the first place. Planes can have a windowless section for people who want to sleep. It also saves fuel.

      It is good th give customers the choice. I like to watch the takeoff, landing and eat window open, but when I'd like some sleep, I shut the shade. It is good to have windows from a safety perspective, so forget the windowless section and also, how does the airline know who wants a window? And how do they then adjust the amount of windows? Perhaps an idea for Spirit or Ryanair, but not for me, thanks! I appreciate the comment by the way!

      @@JOY-ONE-24 Passengers can choose if they want a window seat when they book their flight. The same thing with reclining seats.

      @@cainneachdaugherty7172 But as I said, there are passengers like me who want periods of darkness followed by a nice view when I feel like it. It will cost 0.2€ per window to have a shade in terms of fuel costs and that for almost everyone is worth it. Sometimes an open window can blind you if the sun is low, or make you hot if it is on your legs on a bright day. Let's imagine a plane can seat 100 people. Imagine this plane has a 10 seat windowless section at the end what if 95 people turn up wanting a window row or vice versa there will be 5 people who wanted a view who didnt get one or 85 in the other case. The airline may have to refund these passengers or will undergo reputational damage. Also, you are ignoring my point about safety. There have been issued during flights where the flight attendants have used the windows to inspect say a flaming engine, for example. Cargo planes do not have this ability, but hen they don't have hundreds of souls on board. I agree with the Idea of reclining, I hate being reclined onto! Ultimately, airline bosses and their thousands of employees collectively are far more clever than me or you, they have conducted market analysis, feasibility studies and not even Ryanair or Spirit have taken up the idea. I don't mean to be harsh, but usually when nobody adopts a particular idea, that is because it is not the best option.

    • @JOY-ONE-24
      @JOY-ONE-24 10 днів тому

      As I was saying, during my flight I want to open my shade to watch the takeoff and close it to get some sleep. Let's imagine this plane has 100 seats and 20 of them are on windowless rows. What if 90 passengers want windows? You will have 10 unsatisfied passengers. A window shade will cost an airline roughly 0.3€/£/$ per passenger which to most is worth it. Sometimes the sun is low enough to be blinding or positioned perfectly to make your legs feel uncomfortably hot. You have also ignored my point about safety, although cargo planes have no windows, there have been situations where the flight attenants have used the windows to visually inspect the damage of a birdstrike for example. Ultimately airlines and their thousands of employees are cleverer than either you or me, and have preformed consumer reasearch and feasibility studies. They know best. When nobody adopts your idea, then you know that that is probably because the idea has too many problems. Your idea about a section of seats that can't recline is good though, because I hate being reclined onto! Your ideas are very good but I think you are ignoring the drawbacks.

    • @cainneachdaugherty7172
      @cainneachdaugherty7172 10 днів тому

      @@JOY-ONE-24 Then you can have alternating window seats. Still saves a lot of weight with only having half the windows. Yet flight attendants can still use them to inspect damage to the aircraft. And passengers who want to sleep can wear an eye mask. This is what you do on trains where the cabin lights are never turned off, even at night.
