Wow did I love that store!They had fresh vegetables and all kinds of Filipino imports. I’m gonna go back to my old town to go shopping for sure after watching this, I would always ask What do I do with this? What do I do with this and I’m sure they’re a little annoyed but they tell me anyway , I passed on the intestines too ,,ha ha

Lechon Kawali - “Kawali” means “Wok Pan” “Lechon” is a whole pig roasted over charcoal and seasoned with herbs and spices. You guys already tasted it when you guys in CEBU. 😅 They Called it LECHON KAWALI because instead of roasting the pork over a charcoal, they cooked it deep fried in a wok pan, imitating the taste of the roasted pork cooked under charcoal. ☺️☺️

I could tell the kids weren’t raised in America. They are so open to experiencing things and their mannerisms are impeccable! I wish all kids in the USA could have that experience. You guys did a fantastic job by raising them overseas! Great video! I live 🇵🇭 food, especially lumpia.

Great video about Filipino culture! Yes, great that American kids are exposed to different cultures and foods. As a Chinese American growing up in America, I hope that there will be an acknowledgement for all immigrants who have to adapt to American food. I mean burgers and hot dogs , cheap meats, over curry and spices? 😊

To be honest the vibe I got from you Jonathan and family when you visited the Philippine Islands 🏝 is that it didn't make it to top of your faves, it's clearly because of the trekking enthusiasm you guys have, and Philippines don't have that...and most tourist fall in love with the Filipinas not because of the place itself but the vibe they get from the Fililipo citizen that is really unique... you know what they say... it is really the attitude is the thing that make the difference... and I'm glad you are having a second chance in knowing the filipino... just be careful you guys... it is fascinatingly addictive...
Lechon is originally cooked over charcoal. Lechon Kawali is cooked by deep frying it, and we're using "kawali" or frying pan/wok style pan when deep frying it. That's why it's termed as Lechon Kawali.
filipinos are hardworking and trustworthy and know how to speak english..that's why many filipinos work in other countries..and are trusted by their bosses..and that trust will not be lost anywhere in the world..
Funny hearing Granit talk about the food he ate in the Philippines and Nepal. At that age most of my life experiences were around Nintendo and watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoons, meanwhile he has eaten so much stuff and travelled all over Asia already. 😂 Also Forest eating fried fish with his hands because he grew up in Indonesia. Your kids are so culturally advanced and you can really feel it when they came back to America. Also I love how busy the restaurant is. Would never expect that up in Alaska, but then I guess everyone loves SE Asian food.

Never had pork isaw in the Philippines. Was always chicken every place I visited. Never even heard of pork isaw until this moment. Whenever I was peckish for a snack, chicken isaw was always my go to.
Shout out to Granit for knowing cendol is from Indonesia. The Malay try to own this cold dessert to take as their heritage. I'm sorry but CENDOL or DAWET is from Central Java and Jogjakarta, Indonesia. Yes it became popular in malay and singapore, but come on. Don't do this to another nation heritage. They also said rendang and batik are from malay? Just steal everything....
The tofu with ginger its called "kembang tahu" litteraly translate to the flower of tofu. It heavily influance by the Chinese culture, but we (indonesian people) tend to modified it to our taste, thats why it use ginger and sweet, very sweet. The Javanese culture like to st sweet and use ginger as medicine.

Pichi pichi is not rice cake. It's made from finely grated cassava or yuca root, tapioca flour.
