Keeping it simple? The potential the CMC have for "going wrong" and actually being evil, post-Season 3 finale. See, the incomplete spell cast in that finale only affected ponies with certain destinies (that is, Cutie Marks). Otherwise, Spike would have been at least partly brainwashed. Therefore, the CMC, the kid sisters and dearest fan, _remember_ what happened, and from the outside looking in it doesn't look so good. *lol* Ok, so there's some exaggeration going on too. Having fun with it.
*lol* Oh hell no. So maybe they wouldn't go THAT Lesson Zero on Twilight. But still, just how do you get a cutie mark failure out of a blank-flank? :D Or maybe they just go crazy.
I know....if only the show were slightly less Youth-rated. Or even run by someone slick and clever, like oh, the guy who directed Ed, Edd and Eddy. :D Seriously, if the show doesn't go to crap, it's almost a given that at least _one_ of the CMC calls it quits and seriously tries to manipulate Ponyville into running "that mad mare from Canterlot" out of town. It would nicely subvert the whole Little Girls Must Love Princesses crap.
