EastEnders Fri 13th Jan 2012 Scene with David Wicks (Michael French), Max Branning (Jake Wood), Derek Branning (Jamie Foreman) and Jack Branning (Scott Maslen).
I couldn't believe Jack was actually helping Derek by restraining David. Max was actually the one who was trying to be reasonable. I also find it hard to believe that Max, Jack and Derek are sons of Jim Branning, who I saw as a humorous character that brought comic relief to EastEnders. These guys however are a bunch of nutters (or at least Derek was until he died).
Andrew Chapman Yes but Jim was a bully himself, when he first appeared, he was racist and hated his daughter marrying a black bloke, Derek was the same. Jim bullied Max, he beat Max and he and Derek locked Max in a coffin cause he was friends with a black boy. I always wondered why Jim was close to Derek and Jack, but he hated Max and treated him like shit.
Yeah I know Jim had a bit of a backstory and was a bit of an ass to start with. But when he got together with Dot, he clearly became a more softer character. And he wasn't much of a racist anymore when he became friends with Patrick.
Jack was quite out of character in this scene indeed, he is supposed to be more level headed than Max. When Derek brought the knife out I wonder why he kept restraining David...
jack didnt seem restrained, he was very angry and he grabbed max and both of them fell over the couch on to the floor and struggled with each other on the floor until they had enough, jack was panting when he went outside and max was clutching his stomach in pain. i dont know why jack didnt just punch him but he definitely wasnt restrained, max had really wound him up.
what do you think of max vs derek or jack, sean slater beat him up in 08 but on another occasion max pinned him up against a wall and warned him to stay away from tanya, he has a few fights with jack, jack thumped him in april 2011, they had a row in the vic 3 yrs ago, i thought that was fairly even, do you think max would take derek.
@ardbastard1 lol. the only reason max was acting sensible was he didn't want to fight or want derek back in prison. i think derek could beat david. i hope he has more fights it will make my judgement more clearer

thought jack and max fight in the vic was quite even, the other fights between the pair were dominated by jack though.
