- This documentary explores the 150-mile Great Allegheny Passage (GAP) trail between Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Cumberland, Maryland. Bikers and hikers get a more personal, up-close look as the producers identify key landmarks on the trail, exploring the significance, history, and appeal of each stop. This 2022 program is a follow-up to the 2019 WQED documentary "The Great Ride" which gave viewers a beautiful and more sweeping overview of the GAP and the C&O Canal Towpath trails that link Pittsburgh and Washington, DC.

A great and very rewarding ride, every bicycle enthusiast should put it on their bucket list.
Tomorrow I begin my solo journey on the GAP and C&O trail. Of all the the research I have done in preparation the WQED series is by far the best. I am so happy I found these amazing informational videos from WQED. Thank you for providing such a deep perspective on this historic trail! I will not sleep a wink tonight.
We are so happy to hear that, thank you! We hope you enjoy your journey and safe travels!
Brilliant, Heading over from Australia, as this is a must do trip
Travelled trail in 2018. From Cumberland to Pittsburg (uphill). Beautiful in the autumn.
very cool, I never thought I'd see underneath Point State Park
Awesome! Hope to ride the entire trail one day!
I really enjoyed watching this video! It was interesting and put together very well! The only section of the GAP that I biked on was from Ohiopyle to Confluence and a short distance on the other side of Ohiopyle. I would like to ride the whole GAP someday. I am originally from Somerset county, PA but now live in Connecticut and watching this made me miss home!
Glad you enjoyed it and hopefully you're able to ride more of the GAP someday soon!
Would anyone happen to know who the man is at the 50 second mark, who said he biked the GAP four times? He looks like someone I've watched on UA-cam before and I can't find any of his videos now.
ride along adventures if you haven't found out yet
@@guitarhero4201 I found out who it was a while ago but thank you for responding!
