That excavator took only a small sample of earth from there and they found a 25 carat beauty in a few days. They were like, ok, no big deal , let's leave. We got our expenses covered. @James Wilson That 'class crap' as you put it is not just a story. Class caste system in parts of many countries is a real issue. You are born into a certain caste and regardless of what you do you can not increase your lot in life. Certain castes can not buy things regardless of having the money to do so. Those farmers would not even be able to sell those diamonds and would more than likely have it taken off them and be thrown out the place if they tried to. Its a form of rascism, but rather than colour its class that determines their treatment.
Whats funny though is that the video is edited and show 28 diamonds. Who knows how many they actually took and how many big ones. How many were actually accounted for? May be they took out 100s and just show only 28...
What I don't think they are aware of is that they ran the water through their sluice at too high a rate and probably blew diamonds out the back into the river.....

It would be illegal to smuggle the diamonds out of India. They have all the permits and I'm sure they know that any find would have to be processed and sold within India. They would get their profit and the government would have a nice chunk as well from taxes.
