After using the “normal” iPhone 12, and switching to the 13 mini, I realized that modern smartphones are just way too big. The 13 mini is just perfect for me, and I’ll be sad if it is the last small iPhone Apple will make. If it is, I’m glad I got it when I did, and I’ll hold on to it as long as possible.
The same happened to me with iPhone 11! I’ll stick to my red 13 mini for as long as I can. I love it

I have an iPhone 13 mini. I love this tiny flagship. I think it’s the best of the whole iPhone 13 line up looking at price/spec ratio. Great video.
Only after I got the iPhone 13 mini I realized how much my hands hated the bigger iPhone Pro. I often had problems to hold it comfortably and even had some kind of cramp in my hand from holding the bigger phones. I hope they keep the mini line up-to-date.
I had an iPhone 12 Mini in May 2020. I absolutely fell in love with the form factor but the battery life was horrible for me. I had to walk around with a battery pack everywhere and had constant “battery insecurity” and “battery anxiety”. So I sent it back and waited for the iPhone 13 Mini to be released and picked one up. I’m so happy I did! The battery like on the 13 Mini is much improved. I absolutely am enamored with the smaller size and one-handed ease of use. This is the perfect size phone for me. I really wish other manufacturers would offer flagship specs in this smaller form factor. And I PRAY Apple continues making iPhone Minis. And, no, making the next iPhone SE with the mini body is NOT a substitute! I don’t want old hardware in the body of a mini. I want flagship hardware inside a new Mini. Thanks! 😂

I have iPhone 12 mini and magsafe battery pack, so far my mind already ignores that I have battery anxiety, I don’t even care that the battery still feel bad even with magsafe battery pack because I have to constantly bring it in my other pocket so I don’t have to feel the bulk.
I’m gonna own the 12 mini until Apple decides to release mini iPhone with promotion and usb c or until the 12 mini somehow dead.
In may 2020? It was released in October 2020..

I love my iPhone Mini! I purchased an iPhone Mini 12 last year for personal use, and traded my professional use XS for an iPhone Mini 13 this year. I hope Apple continues the IPhone Mini series. Tim, if you read this, I’ll commit to purchasing an iPhone Mini 14 in 2022!

I honestly don't understand why Apple would discontinue such a unique line of smartphones. Android market does not offer anything even remotely close to the Mini series. The, so-called, compact phones on Android are still bigger, bulkier and well, they are not flagship level.

they discontinued cause of low sales numbers. Everyone can say how much they love this phone but money talks, also there are plenty of smaller android phones out there with solid specs.
I bought the 13 Mini to replace my beloved SE 1rst gen. The SE still works perfectly and smoothly under iOS 15 and I would have kept using it if it weren’t for the rumours that there won’t be a 14 Mini. So, now was the time to stay Mini and keep it as long as I kept the SE. I love the Mini form factor as it is easy in the hand, easy in the pocket and I have it on me at all times. If I need a bigger screen, I have an iPad (also Mini !)

I just ordered mine, can’t wait! The 11 pro is the biggest phone I’ve used and I think it’s too big.
As an aside, please stop saying the mini screen is only 0.1 inches smaller than than the 6S plus. Everyone keeps saying that and it’s not true; they do not have the same aspect ratio. Overall it’s like 15% smaller.

I still love my 12 Mini - no problems with battery life as also use other devices. I don’t think it will be the last Mini because pretty sure they will use this model for the new SE going forward. That would make total sense to me - what do others think?

I’ve been thinking to switch to the Mini but thanks to you now I more convinced to do so. If Apple retires the mini version I will buy the 13 Mini to stay with it for a while. I’m using the regular 12 at the moment.
I've owned every iPhone since the 3G and the 13 mini is my favorite iPhone ever. What a shame if they discontinue the mini line. I feel like Apple could have maybe done a better job of marketing these phones - seems like most people don't really know much about them. Makes me sad.
It would have been great if they would have released the mini as a spring featured device after the initial release of the other 3 devices.
Kinda like how they made everyone crave a purple iPhone 12. I definitely think if they would release the mini in the spring it would be something users and tech enthusiasts would actually be hype for. The new “hype” would be focused on how powerful Apple can make a smaller device. Increasing the attention of followers who want a smaller phone
One of the problem is the « mini » name. People associate « mini » with « cheap or low cost ». It’s doesn’t help to sell the phone.

12/13 mini are misnamed. Without the “mini” name attached the sales would far better. It’s not half as mini as the name suggests. So much so that I sold my 12 mini and went back to using my trusty SE1 because I found 12 mini too big!!
@@savedfaves Yeah, you make a good point. Maybe the "mini" moniker actually hurt sales, never thought of that before. Maybe Apple can bring it back some day rebranded. Sounds like they may be dropping the current SE line, which they should. I think they should bring it back as the next SE.

What I'd really like is an iPhone 13 Pro Mini; the mini form factor with pro features such as the telephoto lens would be a perfect combination in my opinion.
There will never be a Pro mini.
My 512gb iPhone 13 Mini is going to last me 5 years and hopefully by then we’ll have foldables from Apple that start out the size of the mini and expand into a tablet experience.

I had the 12 mini with 256GB but the phone performed poorly. I had connection issues, bluetooth issues and my carrier blamed Apple and Apple blamed my carrier. So when the 13 mini became available I traded up. So happy I did. The 13 mini with 256GB is working perfectly. No more connection issues, lost calls and of course the battery life is improved. Being able to use just 1 hand to do everything on this phone is important to me. Which is why I am anti the largest or the larger iPhones. Plus, the mini fits into all pockets easily and comfortably.
Too bad the 14 will not feature a mini. Terrible decision by Apple based only on $$

I just love small phones
I used an SE1 for 4 years switched to a 12 mini 256gb as soon as it came out and loved it, but switched to a 13 mini 512gb due to battery issues and capacity and 13 mini is by far my favorite smartphone ever.
I love my 13 mini, for someone who has a small hand it's just perfect and i can simply put it in my pocket without a hassle. I hope that apple continues the mini's because it's revolutionary!!!

I got mine a few hours ago. Coming from the iPhone 11 Pro, I find the weight to the 13 mini very very comfortable (reminds me of the the 6s).
I also miss my iPhone 4s and just ordered a 13mini. I hope it’s not the last of its kind, because I will greatly enjoy the usability of its palm size.

I can usually get through the day on a charge with light usage, but I got this phone because of the size, features, and possibly the last small phone. I can drop it in a pocket and it’s not a brick.

Love my 13 mini coming from the 2016 SE. Plan is to use this little guy for 5-6 years, by then a small compact apple flip phone will probably be available.
Great video Jeff! I had my iPhone 5 for about 7 years. I loved it. The size and design was perfect. I thought when purchasing the iPhone 11 I would do much more reading. That simply hasn’t been the case. I need an iPad mini at the least for a good reading experience.
I’ll be keeping my 11 for another 2 - 3 years. But I hope a mini 15 or 16 will be available when it’s time to upgrade.
Not gonna lie....the small size is what drew me to the mini. I wanted a small phone that I could put in my front pocket as I did several years ago. Much better camera than my old android phone too. I'm very pleased with the 13 mini and it was not that difficult to adjust to Apple's software. My first Apple product btw. Should last me several years so hopefully there will be other small options down the road. Samsung and others are offering folding smartphones. Maybe Apple will offer something like that in the future.

Always liked a small phone. I have been using the 6s and then the 8 for the last year. Just bought a 13 mini in green. Few days more to wait for delivery
I love the form factor of the 12/13 iPhone mini but since Apple seems to be discontinuing the Mini lineup next year and I want to have the macro camera on the 13 Pro I decided I might as well not get used to the Mini's great form factor and then just have to get used to the iPhone 14 Pro next iPhone cycle, I would just use the 12/13 iPhone Pro series.
I loved my 12 mini coming from the max, but I need the telephoto camera so badly. So I upgraded to the 13 pro again. I'd freak out to see a 14 pro mini 😄
My first iPhone was the 5s…had it for 7 years…then the 6s for a few years…until I purchased the 13 mini several weeks ago…totally happy with this iPhone for all the reason you stated. Not too bummed that there wont be a 14 mini….because in essence they down grade the iPhone 14, by keeping the iOS 15, instead of upgrading to iOS 16 to the pro’s…so for me…no reason to wait for the 14….I am totally satisfied with the 13 mini. Besides, whose to say what Apple will do in 3 to 5 years? since I hold on to my iPhones for a long time…I can wait and see. Good review, thank you and have a great weekend from Montana…
I future-proofed the heck out of my iPhone 13 mini with the biggest storage option. Also I like how an iPhone SE [1st gen.] was in this video as well as that was my favorite phone before this one - I still use the latter phone by the way and can't get myself to stop using it...only thing with the iPhone SE is the battery life but that's not bad but yeah I love these phones!!!

The iPhone 13 mini & the iPad mini 6 is the ultimate niche combination, I haven’t touched a desktop or laptop in over six months, due to the rumours of the mini being discontinued I’m seriously considering buying a second one now & keeping it in reserve to future proof my 13 mini experience, silly APPLE you have my purchases now but I won’t even be considering purchasing another iPhone from you for 14 years regardless of what ever you come out with next, unless it’s a device that has an app that will teleport me to anywhere in the world !

Got the 12 Mini and decided this was the size for me moving forward. Bummed on the news.
I was waiting for the 12 Minis launch after hearing the rumours, I hope to hold onto this phone for a while and given the 13 might be the last, theres serious fomo over the improvements from the 12.
I think that the iPhone mini is the ultimate evolution of Steve’s stubborn vision for a 1 hand experience, with a display this big I think that stubbornness would have paid off, if people haven’t become so accustom to a phone with a bigger footprint necessarily meaning a bigger screen.
A friend asked me the other day is the mini ‘really small’ as she wanted something just a touch bigger than the 7 she had before, since getting the mini shes more than happy with the size of display compared to the 7. But its clear the impression left from the tiny 5” display compared to the humongous displays of modern smartphones will forever burden the success of a smaller flagship phone 🥲
I’ve just ordered the 12 mini in exchange for the SE (2022) which I still quite liked but interested in night mode, more screen space, better camera ,and when I compared both the 12 mini nudged out the SE for sound (via headphones).

I went from an X to 13mini and love it. I wasn’t a fan of how big it was and definitely wasn’t gonna go up to a 6.1 screen. The mini feels just right and enjoy how compact it is; even with a case.

Nobody addressed the promotion part in comparison with the 13pro max. Brilliant job. Switching to mini but that pro motion is a deal-breaker.
I have both the 13 pro and mini. One will be sold. The pro motion display is the ONLY thing that keeps me tempted to stick with the pro. Otherwise the mini is a complete joy for all the reasons you’ve stated.

Hah, I feel the same. Although I see the benefits of a larger iPhone, and I sometimes use the iPhone 13 Pro Max, the mini is just so perfect as a handheld device. It's the epitome of good design imo.

I love my iPhone 13 mini. It's so easy to use in one hand while taking the dog out for a walk etc. Camera is great, too, but I would have preferred a telephoto lens instead of the super wide angle.
I might keep my 12 mini, or get a 13 mini, rather than get forced into buying a big phone that really does not fit my use case.

I can see the hole-punch display, favouring Touch ID over Face ID for its future, similar to the iPad Air strategy - but I don’t see this happening until they can figure out how to remove the notch make the flagship Face ID phones displays look equally as appealing.
Hated my iPhone 12 so swapped to the 13 mini. I absolutely love it. Smaller but easy on the eyes, so portable and fast. Great camera too. Unless you've got bad eyes and can't read smallish text it's the best phone out there.

Tbh if apple gets rid of the mini, I see it returning in a few years time. Sooner or later apple will need to add more cameras to the regular iPhones. That means apple could release the mini as an iPhone SE in the future as it would only have 2 cameras and iPhone SE have also been a really small phone.

Just ordered my 13 mini :) A long journey with my first gen SE will end soon. Still love my old phone, but new iOS release will be not supported and the 14 lineup will not contain a small form factor phone. Hope the 13 mini will last as long as the SE.
the iPhone mini is the perfect size phone, once you’re using it it’s not and doesn’t seem small at all, remember the iPhone 7/8+Plus had a 5.5 inch screen the mini has a 5.4 inch screen. The larger phones today are just unnecessarily oversized, it really shouldn’t be called mini it should just be the regular iPhone, It would probably sell more if it wasn’t marketed as mini.
Got an 11 on me right now. I think in 2 years I’ll buy the 13 mini 512GB for half price, perhaps less (and new)

This phone with like a 5.8 inch display, USB-c, a headphone jack and a punch hole instead of a notch would seriously be my ultimate dream phone. Also i wish apple would bring the circular volume buttons back.
With a hole punch, face id would be way less secure. Usb c would only make more problems since many products are already compatible with lightning, and the 5.4 inch display is still big

I drive a 12mini and coming from a 5se it’s the only one handed phone for me. My regret is the battery is not great after a year. I disabled 5g for battery life from day one. If the 13mini is going to be the last of its size I may have to get one in 2023 and hold on to it until small phones come back in Vogue.
Yeah, my 12 mini's battery was...unfortunate. The 13 mini is noticeably better, but there's only so much that can be done in such a small form factor battery wise, while keeping such high end specs. That's why I think the Smart Battery Case was designed specifically for the mini. It's a great complement to the mini.
I bought 10 pieces of original iPhone SE, just to make sure that I will have an actual phone; as I find the phablets useless as phones.
I have the iPhone SE (orig) and bought a 13 mini for this very reason
@@NishantGogna I bought a 12 mini, it's huge! I wish they would make an original iPhone size using latest tech, screen all the way to the edge however still keep the round shape of the original iPhone.

I agree I love my 13 mini. If this is the last year of the mini I hope we see it come back as the next generation SE (just sell it under the mini name and ditch the SE). Sadly that will mean it would probably have a camera downgrade but the rest of the design would be perfect.

I got the 13 pro back in September and I completely regret not getting the mini, as the pro is so big and heavy and the overprocessing on the cameras makes the 'best part' of the pros look awful anyways

I just switched from the 12 mini over to the 13 pro max. It reminds me of how convenient the iPhone mini is. Amazing phone. I just didn’t like the battery. That was literally my only issue with this phone. I think they should keep making this model for sure. Just cut back in production.
I will only upgrade from the 12 mini to the 14 if there is a mini model.

Can't go wrong with *FREE* and the phone is spectacular as I've heard for quite a while now!!
i like 13 mini but 10-12h screen time of the 13 pm is unbeatable (2x more than the mini). having a battery that's able to endure 2 days of moderate usage is amazing. and you can have this by $300 more than the mini. this alone is enough to me, I'm not even talking about the camera or screen.
And I've been using a 6.7" smartphone since 2018 size is not a problem.
