This video has helped me a lot. What makes it so worth while is the humor you incorporate. It actually makes me pay attention more because I'm a basic bitch and I prefer edutainment over standard education.
Curtis just taught me how to use compression. Now I can compress things with Curtis and bump my productions into the next level. (Also it's okay that Ross likes to wear makeup in his free time, nothing wrong with that.)
Honestly Dude? I want more of that! I really dont know and dont even want to know how your breakfast looks like, but I guess Uncle Joe keeps an eye on you. I guess imma do that too and subscribe to your unnaturally dope Producing-Channel to avoid sucking more at producing as necessary. Thank you!
As I'm watching this I just hear you dropping random DJ Shadow references, which makes me love you more. You will be getting hired here soon man. I'll just pay you to do a really cool video chat with me
Lmao, dude you're hilarious. I've been stressin' makin real music cuz im bad, so I thought, hey why not make rap it's easy right? I've just been trying to figure out the basics to working with samples, and your videos are a great start.
I chose the hi-pass filter for the compressor because I wanted to remove only the higher frequencies (the ones that cause the ssssss sound) in Ross's voice. Hope that helps Shane, keep up the swag.
I can't tell if you're being sarcastic. But if you are: it's called makeup because that knob "makes up" for the volume loss that comes with compressing things
Elementary I'm being as literal as possible. I've been learning about audio engineering a lot this year through ableton, and I've noticed that the various terms an jargon have extremely straight forward names, which has helped me experiment and learn faster, mainly because I can infer what a lot of things do
hi underbelly i’m a poor ableton live lite user and i am too poor to afford the not lite version. i dont have a glue compressor and what do i do instead?
why do the 2 waveforms represent? I mean when u pull an audio file in the arrangement view, 2 exact waveforms appear, what exactly are they? Also, I know that x-axis is the time axis, but what is the y-axis ? is it the loudness or the frequency? thanks in advance :)
The two waveforms represent the decibel (sound volume) amount on the left and right channels (each side of your headphones has a separate audio output). The top is the left channel, and the bottom is the right channel. Like you said, the x-axis is the time where you are in the track, and the y-axis is the peak decibel loudness at that time.
hey let me say something: you sound a bit offbeat.. but you hit the snare right.. the adlips suck. why no doubletime? dig for "Kollegah - Mondfinsternis" :D
***** i tagged it because he is fast in rapping. you want that other shit? check out huss n hodn, retrogott, ssio, figub brazlevic and ruhrpott ag . your welcome. i like that simple one tune. thx
Man, I laughed harder and somehow learned more than any straight-forward how-to video. Your shit is great.
+Robert Stevenson thank you my friend
you know what's amazing? This shit is in 2014 but it's still better than other how-to-shit-videos people make in 2020

Hilarious, high quality tutorials that are easy to understand. You’ve earned yourself a subby wubby, good sir.
On the De-Esser. you chose a filter type without mentioning it. Why did you choose that particular one?
I chose the hi-pass filter for the compressor because I wanted to remove only the higher frequencies (the ones that cause the ssssss sound) in Ross's voice. Hope that helps Shane, keep up the swag.
yousuckatproducing Hey, thanks for the reply. Could the band pass filter be a better choice, since sibilance frequencies are about between 4-10k?
***** You know what Shane, it really might be the better call. I'll try experimenting between the two. Thanks
you're funny dawg, nice vids

I love how a lot of audio things are named really conveniently, like Makeup
oh yes
I can't tell if you're being sarcastic. But if you are: it's called makeup because that knob "makes up" for the volume loss that comes with compressing things

@@arkennoren0 hey thank u very kuch for clarification :) so can I say that one waveform would correspond to a mono signal?
@@8thFloorHarmony Yep, right.
@@arkennoren0 thanks for clarification :)
He is correct about who calls rap hip hop.
He is also correct about who wrote the raps.
