- Northern California has some of the most beautiful views of anywhere I've traveled. Lake Tahoe is full of people but this nearby lake is not. 4x4 is highly recommended. Nothing better than a little truck camping on a rocky beach with good company. Bonus river crossings. Enjoy these beautiful mountain lakes with some exploring and adventure (overlanding?). Do you think the road to bowman is doable in an Outback wilderness?
Yep, but getting off the main trail not so much. I have seen thinner tires pop as well, probably better to have thicker rubber (higher load range). Make sure u take a good spotter you trust. There is always the dam area that can be plan b.

Lots of rocks for Tahoe area. Maybe Big Sur, can do that area stock.
@@AdventureSquadOverland sounds like a good time but it’s my birthday weekend this week. I just have a spacer lift and a minimal cab mount chop. Still rubs at full lock on flat/reverse. Getting it done right, welded and pinned in a few weeks. And I don’t have any under armor. How are the trails in Tahoe?

@@Explore_with_b steep, rocky, usually single track, loose and depending on weather, slick. Sounds like u should wheel somewhere easier to learn what your trucks limitations are when thinking about upgrades. Some people can make anything work safely others like me need upgrades.
Is that trail doable right now during winter
This year it was groomed a lot, should be ok until the big winter storms hit. Best bet to call the ranger station or check the website.
Is the river crossing from Bowman Lake to Faucherie lake?
It’s actually crossing the river that feeds bowman lake :)

A lot of the area is easily accessible but many of the trails are single track and long. So some issues maybe if a car is coming in the opposite direction, pretty tight w smaller trucks already. Maybe if someone is out ahead of you and radios u when a car is coming so u can slow down at the wider areas.
@@AdventureSquadOverland Thanks I'm getting ready to build a RV based on that size truck. Lots of places I want to go but I know there are places I won't be able to go.
Still, plenty of places to go you will never run out.
You guys know if it’s possible to pull a utv to this location?
A small one possibly. Make sure u anchor it down very very well bc u will have to go down a very short very steep section about the length of 3 Tacomas and it’s super rutted and off kilter (hard to see on video). But if it were me I would try. Plenty of other places to park as plan b
Is there a staging area ? When you take atv ?
Yes near the entrance to the lake.

That was last year. Not sure this year yet

Not while we were out there but I’d expect the area more forested to have them
