  • I have been catching very well recently on this style of streamer for both zander and pike. The small articulated shank adds some length and extra movement to the relatively small fly. I've tied it hollow and classic deceiver style, but in this case I prefer the classic especially when targeting the zander.
    Material List:
    Hook: Ahrex TP610 2/0
    Shank: 10mm
    Beads: 4mm
    40lb mono
    Bucktail in olive and white
Hedron Flashabou in holo olive, gold and red
Angelina Fibre in peacock and black
Hareline Dubbin Polar Chenille in olive
Skeena River Supplies Nayat (snow runner) in olive. You could use Icelandic Sheep, JBM Buckblend or Pike Skinz
    Orange wool roving
Blended olive and black wool roving with black Angelina Fibre
Deer Creek Lazer Dub in white
    Funky Flytying Snapper eyes 10mm
Not shown, but coat the head with UV, Epoxy or Liquid Fusion to keep those eyes on
    Happy tying

Great vid again Paul! Very helpful and inspiring for my tying progress. Can you give some support to me, which shank size you use for which hook size?
Thanks in advance and always tight lines,
    Andreas

I make my own these days, but 20mm will be fine for these small flies

How do you fish for zender ? which line are you using...?

In the UK on the big waters, we fish off the back of a drifting boat with heavy fast sinking lines to get the flies down

Yes I am, as have an allergy to super glue, UV and epoxy resins

Why not use a second hook rather than just a blank shank? Gets wrapped up too much?

Old vid..I use all the variations. To be honest I don't bother with rear shank much these days. Single hook or single.and front shank

I love the fly. I just have a hard time watching the videos due to the music.

One suggestion I do on a lot of videos I don't want to hear the music, or someone talking...whatever the case may be...I TURN THE VOLUME DOWN!!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
