    Perfect instructional video. Intro only a 5 second sting. No pointless preamble explaining what a sprinkler is and its purpose, we're all here because we either have it already or are actively considering buying one. 3 ways to adjustment it, explained quickly and thoroughly with a clear demo unit. Thank you!

    Thank you for this video. There was no manual with the sprinkler and it was frustrating knowing what all the little gizmos were all about. Explained wonderfully.

    Thank you!!! I'm supposed to be watering my neighbor's grass and messed up where the bottom pins were set so it started going way wider than it needed to be. This will help me get it back to where it needs to be so much. It's very scary looking, but actually quite simple now that I've seen you demonstrate this.

    • @eugenestraskulic7174
      @eugenestraskulic7174 4 роки тому

      I just had the same problem. I turned sprinkler head upside down and found a pin that was not in the little hole on the plate connected to the clip used to do a 360 sweep. Using a pair of needle nose pliers, I was able to put the pin in the little hole. Sprinkler works perfectly now. I would have attached a picture but I could not figure out how to do it.

    Thank You for the review. I use just a slight touch of the diffuser pin on the stream and maintained max coverage but eveness as well. How did your eveness tests prove our?

    • @GardeningProductsReview
      @GardeningProductsReview  6 років тому +2

      That's the best way to do it, Bruce, but most people don't. Without using the diffuser pin, coverage is quite uneven - mostly a donut shape with little water coverage in the center. That's really an issue with impact / impulse sprinklers in general.

    • @LlyleHunter

      I've always refused to install an underground system because of the upkeep. I've landscaped beds around my borders and have eight of these (3800H) set up in the beds in four different zones and the hoses are covered with mulch. In the area close to my house I have four of Melnor's 2950 rotors because they are quiet and they are in two seperate zones. If I ever have to replace a pair I won't need to rip my lawn apart. These metal pulsating heads from Melnor have a lifetime unconditional warranty and the rotors have a lifetime limited warranty. I've been in my present home for five years and haven't needed to replace any of them yet.

    • @GardeningProductsReview
      @GardeningProductsReview  6 років тому +1

      Sounds like they're working really well for you! It really is so much easier to deal with hoses and sprinklers than an entire in-ground system. Like you, we've never chosen to install an underground system in our own gardens - mostly drip irrigation and a few sprinklers.

    Love your video. I have a melnor 9610 tripod sprinkler. It has stopped spraying, just a stream of water comes out of it. Is there something on the sprayhead that I would adjust to get this thing spraying again? The arm does`nt pulsate either. Thanks

      Clean your sprinkler periodically. A new sprinkler that has stopped performing to its usual standard may just be in need of a good cleaning. Remove the sprinkler head from the base and disassemble it to gain access to the nozzle and swivel bearing. Gently scrub each piece with hot water and a bottle brush to remove any debris or mineral buildup that may be inhibiting the sprinkler’s movement.[12]
      Common symptoms of a dirty sprinkler include a weak stream with normal water pressure, turning to one side and stopping, and failing to rotate at all.
      A mixture of vinegar and warm water can cut through heavy mineral and sediment deposits that have accumulated inside the sprinkler head.

    Melnor. We should not have to come to UA-cam to figure out how to use this sprinkler. ADD real instructions to the product.

    Hi, thnx for the explanation. I have a problem, my sprinkler doesn´t spin, even with te pin lifted up, so what it can be? low watter presure? or maybe I have to lubricate some part? thank you again

      From another response on this page - "Common symptoms of a dirty sprinkler include a weak stream with normal water pressure, turning to one side and stopping, and failing to rotate at all. A mixture of vinegar and warm water can cut through heavy mineral and sediment deposits that have accumulated inside the sprinkler head."

    Very helpful; the instructions on the box are of not much use.
    As the commentator noted, diffusing the spray is easier said than done. The adjusting screw's head should be easier to turn; a wing shape would be ideal and shouldn't be hard to do. Melnor, are you listening?
