Just a little heads-up for anyone who wants to install these gauge overlay kits. The overlays are backed with an EL (Electro-Luminescence) light panel and they will gradually degrade in brightness over time. The "control box" is actually a DC-to-AC inverter that sends the AC current that is required to drive the EL panels. That inverter should ideally be mounted in a location as far away from your ears as possible, because they emit a slightly audible, very high-pitched whistling noise when in operation. The noise tends to get louder as the inverter ages. Once you start noticing the noise, you can't un-notice it, it'll drive some people insane, like it's at the back of your brain every time you switch the lights on.
Lastly, I'm the sort of guy who prefers to wire the overlay lights to the factory gauge cluster lights, so they only come on when the lights are switched on and off during the day. I know many will find it cooler wired up the way the video shows, gives the car a more modern feel, the same way new cars all come with clusters that are always lit as long as the car is on. Trouble is, there is always that moron who forgets to turn his headlights on at night and doesn't even notice that he can't see the road ahead properly. People who have driven older cars are already trained on a sub-conscious level that if the dash is dark, the headlights are off.

Brake and battery is alternator replace it and the lights should go away!
Thanks for the tutorial Devin! I bought the car with white overlays but at the time didn't know people did this. They eventually went out and was troubleshooting the heck out why they werent lighting up anymore. After watching your tutorial I realized that my car had overlays. Decided to take them off and leave the OEM orange for now.
Battery light and Brake light usually means an alternator is starting to get weak and might need replacing!

Need to do this to my IX! Looks soo much more brighter than the stocks! & The Battery&Brake light is definitely Battery or Alternator related. I replaced my alternator because those lights and fixed the problem for me. Lovin these builds bro! Especially the Evo 8 keep it coming!

I know this video is over a year old but if you are having the brake light and battery light on at the same time, it usually means your alternator is going bad. just a little evo 8/9 tip

For you brake overlay, i noticed that at 5:57, when you edited the "fast forward" mount back the upper part of the cluster, we can clearly see that the overlay cluster is not align with the hole. Since it's not a full clip, that it has been edited, maybe that little offset is making the Brake overlay not align unless you say that it was only for the video and that you realign off camera. Overall, look nice man. :D

Brake and battery light should be your alternator or your connection from your alternator to your battery that’s what was wrong with my Mitsubishi

Well now i know where that came from, came with my car but my gauge actually does look blue/green when i change it.
I really loved the yellow gauge but also bought the red set for the rest of the smaller gauges. What fuse did you tap into and did you ghetto wire it by wrapping the wire on one of the fuse legs or actually got a fuse tap?
