thankfully, i’m in the same boat. i work retail, but my store’s management plays a bunch of hipster covers of holiday songs instead of the usual suspects (bing crosby, sinatra, mariah, etc) over the radio. so even if i hear an overdone song like the one this video is referencing, it’s usually arranged in an interesting way. that doesn’t even count the original holiday songs that some of these artists record. doesn’t stop me from extending my sympathies towards those who are less fortunate than i or loathing mariah carey’s existence, but it is what it is
