Yeah Its my childhood game as well . I guess the reason this game has been played by a lot of children back then, because It is actually way better for children than GTA V or San Andres for the lack of Sex, Violence etc. Especially GTA V is NOT A CHILD FRIENDLY AT ALL .

Once my father saw me how i was killing pedestrians with chainsaw and he told me not to play this game anymore lol, but i continued to play while he wasn't at home or he was sleeping, I was 11 or 12, also i had Postal 2 installed on pc. But i grew sane and non-vilent person.
When my mom made me clean my room as a kid I had to stop playing the game, but instead of turning off my PS2 I paused and went to the audio menu so the radio stations could play. Suddenly cleaning my room wasn't such a chore! Nowdays life isn't so great and simple, but it still makes me happy when I'm driving somewhere and a song from Vice City comes up on the radio :)

I was 15 in 1985 learned my best friend driving on a motorbike Yamaha XS 1100 cc no driver lisence , no assurance, young & wild and a lot of luck. In that time no smart cam in every street, drove 3 years like that, parents never knew. Watch video's from jean claude Bloodsport, first blood, Cobra ,Cyborg the music in that time was sooooo good. Still is. The only timemachine that works is music brings you right back to the time you remember.... time flies enjoy the memories ❤

70's 80's and 90's were the best decades for freedom and creativity to flourish in all forms that they appear in life. So not just music but creating the media through which we listen music as well... cassette, VHS tape recorders, iPods, Mobile Phones, DVD, Blu-Ray, the home computer, the internet... you could go on and on and on about all the epic things created in those 3 decades.

Its because when Rock star was developing Vice city they made it take place in the 1980's which is why all these awesome songs are on here in the first place. Since Gta v is a more modern time they put "music" that people call now a days music. Then again I agree with you they could have put a station for music like this.
I love that GTA Vice City opened up a whole new 80's following for the music of that time. My nephew started playing this game, he was born in 1988, and the music just BLEW HIM AWAY, he loved it, and just loves 80's music now. Makes me feel less of a fogey for still adoring the music of that decade. I know a lot of is was trashy, but it was just....FUN. And it all sounded different, distinctive, fresh. I'll never tire of it.

One of my best memories in this game was getting the black Washington from one of the missions... I was still a kid and I didn't know how modding worked and when I got the car I was ecstatic. And then Laura Branigan started playing... Oh man, that's gaming heaven right there. Driving down Vice City to the mansion to park my unique black Washington. Slowly cruising, taking in the scenery... Now, 17 years later I still crank up this song and drive up and down my neighborhood in my modded. black '07 E420 CDI Mercedes with a part of me still lost in a 1980s Vice City fantasy, still going past the Malibu club in that black Washington.

Back when I was a kid, I remember playing GTA VC and the first mod I ever installed was an E24 BMW mod. Cruising through Vice City in my beautiful, white, classic 6-series was absolutely amazing! Fast forward some years and as an adult, I bought an old 1986 BMW 635CSI. Finished restoring and modding it last year and when I went for a test drive, I played this on the radio via AUX. True... I did not drive my fancy "new" old car through 1980s Miami, but it was still amazing. I felt like a kid again. I had a grin 2 miles wide! Windows down, slowly cruisin' in my E24, blasting Flash FM XD I'm a Benz man, and proud owner of two stars, but old BMWs have a special place in my heart.

Listening in 2021, trying to forget it's 2021. I bought this game for an ex back around 2004ish and I liked watching him play it. Never was great at it myself, but I loved the music.

I grew up in Miami in the 80's. Riding around in Vice City with this station playing brought back a lot of good memories.
I used to just cruise, just listening to the radio and explore the massive vice city. Many late nights playing this, big time nostalgic feeling.
I think GTA VI should return to Vice City. After all we saw LC and SA get upgraded.

I was 15 in 1985 learned my best friend driving on a motorbike Yamaha XS 1100 cc no driver lisence , no assurance, young & wild and a lot of luck. In that time no smart cam in every street, drove 3 years like that, parents never knew. Watch video's from jean claude Bloodsport, first blood, Cobra ,Cyborg the music in that time was sooooo good. Still is. The only timemachine that works is music brings you right back to the time you remember.... time flies enjoy the memories ❤

So not just music but creating the media through which we listen music as well... cassette, VHS tape recorders, iPods, Mobile Phones, DVD, Blu-Ray, the home computer, the internet... you could go on and on and on about all the epic things created in those 3 decades.

Its because when Rock star was developing Vice city they made it take place in the 1980's which is why all these awesome songs are on here in the first place. Since Gta v is a more modern time they put "music" that people call now a days music. Then again I agree with you they could have put a station for music like this.
I heard these stations so much, I remember the orders of a lot of the songs, ads, and DJ banter. It's crazy!

I love that GTA Vice City opened up a whole new 80's following for the music of that time. My nephew started playing this game, he was born in 1988, and the music just BLEW HIM AWAY, he loved it, and just loves 80's music now. Makes me feel less of a fogey for still adoring the music of that decade. I know a lot of is was trashy, but it was just....FUN. And it all sounded different, distinctive, fresh. I'll never tire of it.
It pains me when people say San Andreas is better than Vice City. This was the best GTA out there.
+ALZH the 80's trump the 90's anyday... but game play on san andreas is way more complex than in vice city, even though vice city was a stepping stone for san andreas...

I'm now 18 years old - but I've managed to play in the GTA universe starting with GTA 2 to GTA V - I still remember waking up in the morning and playing GTA VC right away - I love it even though the 18+ game has provided me with a wonderful childhood and now memories.

As you might already know, Billie Jean was taken off the latest digital versions of vice city because of copyright issues with Michael Jackson's family. That game is for Adults 18+. OMG - you broke the Law.
One of my best memories in this game was getting the black Washington from one of the missions... I was still a kid and I didn't know how modding worked and when I got the car I was ecstatic. And then Laura Branigan started playing... Oh man, that's gaming heaven right there. Driving down Vice City to the mansion to park my unique black Washington.
Slowly cruising, taking in the scenery... Now, 17 years later I still crank up this song and drive up and down my neighborhood in my modded. black '07 E420 CDI Mercedes with a part of me still lost in a 1980s Vice City fantasy, still going past the Malibu club in that black Washington.

Back when I was a kid, I remember playing GTA VC and the first mod I ever installed was an E24 BMW mod. Cruising through Vice City in my beautiful, white, classic 6-series was absolutely amazing!
Fast forward some years and as an adult, I bought an old 1986 BMW 635CSI. Finished restoring and modding it last year and when I went for a test drive, I played this on the radio via AUX. True... I did not drive my fancy "new" old car through 1980s Miami, but it was still amazing. I felt like a kid again. I had a grin 2 miles wide!
