Hi! Thanks a lot for the tips, it worked for me and my girlfriend today! (May 10th 2023).
I'd like to share my experience since it was slightly different, in case it can help others! I will also post this comment on your other (longer) video, hope this is ok!
    1) a bit of context about our trip, since it is important for the following: it was planned last minute to have affordable flight tickets (long story short), so I bought the entry tickets for the park a bit more than two weeks before the selected date. We chose a Wednesday, just after the Golden Week so we got the lowest price for the entry ticket (8600¥). At that point, there were still some express passes available for that day starting from about 14000¥, but we decided not to take them.
    2) I was able to register our entry tickets the day before in my hotel (I tested right when I bought them without success, but not since then so not sure when it starts). The day we visited, the official opening hour was 9:30. For some unrelated reasons, we were staying in Nagoya, about 1h45 from the park. It was physically impossible for us to get to the park before 8am (unless we took the first nozomi shinkansen, but it is not included in the JR pass so it would have cost us about 6500¥ per person to arrive at 7:44).
Hence we arrived at the earliest possible time, 8:01, which I thought should be ok.
When we got there, there was already quite a lot of people, but nothing really scary, we were just past the tickets boothsq. However I noticed there was a separate queue for people with early access tickets (that you can get essentially by staying in a hotel affiliated with the park).
I got a bit scared since I thought they might finally have decided that early access should only be for these people (which in a way would make sense).
At 8:30, they opened the gates for people with an early access ticket.
At 8h45, to my great relief, they opened the gates for us.
We then rushed for Nintendo World, got there by 9am and could enter without any problem.
They started asking for area timed tickets from 10am, so there was a good time window.
By the way, please do not run. First it is forbidden and staff will stop you if they see you (but they cannot check everybody). Second, it is not necessary, there is plenty of time (+ as I'll tell later there is a good chance you can get an area ticket anyway). Third, it is actually dangerous: there are a lot of people, among them a lot of kids and we actually saw a young boy getting bumped by two guys that did not even look back.
So walk fast, sure, but do not run. You're just wasting your energy and bothering everybody, in the worst case it could even impact the park rules, as Japanese tend to do sometimes (e.g. the sgaff pf super potato in Akihabara is a lot less friendly with foreigners now, because of the behaviors of some disrespectful people).
So, I'm not sure if this is a new way of doing this, or if arriving at 7:30 allows you to enter the early access queue without a ticket, but if you arrive 1 hour and a half before the opening, it should be fine anyway, you just won't be the first people in the park. All this being said, it was one of the least crowded day so I would arrive earlier than we did on a more busy day.
    3) about the area entry tickets, they do not run out of stock as fast as I thought (on a not crowded day). At 10am, I checked and could have secured an area ticket for 10am without any problem. I checked again at about 13:30 while queuing and could reserve a ticket for several time windows from 14:00 to 15:00. So in case you cannot enter, it should still be fine to get in, I was not looking frantically and git lots of opportunities. Since once you leave the area you cannot reenter without ticket, it is possible if you enter before the restruction to save a ticket for later,in case you leave and realize you forgot something. Note that you can only reserve one area ticket per day, so it works only once. Yet, I would advise not doing so as this might prevent someone who never got in to have this chance, so be mindful and try to leave only when you're sure (or take a very late entry, just for shopping for example).
To give you an idea of the time it takes, we were in Nintendo from 9am to 5pm, taking our time, doing both rides twice, eating at the restaurant and doing eveything else, including photos with Mario & cie, we left deeply satisfied and still got 2h to try the rest of the park (closing time was 7pm).
    4) About the rides: once inside, we went for a power-up band (for those interested, they released a limited edition Gold Mario band on March 2023 for the second anniversary of Nintendo World, as of May 10th 2023, they are still available but are not doing anything more than the regular bands, as far as I know).
Then we rushed for Mario Kart and were allowed (actually asked) to take the fast access lane since they were not checking yet for express pass so we got the ride really fast. Being together in the ride only makes sense if you are 3 or 4 for the team score, so I would advise to use the single rider lane for a second, or a third ride, it really speeds up things (but you miss the nice items displayed on the regular lane). Also, make sure you press the power band several time on the kart to be sure it connects. Since it is not super clear when and if it did it properly, my girlfriend was actually not connected on her first ride although she seemed to do it correctly. In general, although it works pretty well most of the time, the band is sometimes not recognised and it gets frustrating when it happens in Mario Kart since you don't receive the coins etc (for the other interactions in the park, you can simply try again or ask nicely the staff, they are super super friendly, even more if you can speak japanese but don'tbe afraid if you don't).
Then we went for Yoshi, the waiting time was said to be 40 minutes but we only waited for 20 minutes or so. The same happened the second time we did it as well.
In general, it seems that Mario Kart is more crowded than Yoshi, especially since the waiting time seems overestimated.
For the restaurant (Kinopio cafe), it might be a good idea to get there early. We went at 10:50, received a ticket to come back between 11:15 and 11:30, went back at 11:15, ordered at 11:30 and started eating at 11:50. It might take more time if you go later, but i have the feeling their ticketing system works well. For the other food shops, the queue never seemed to long (maybe for the popcorns but we didn't take them). If you're in a rush, I woukd suggest the koopa shell calzone at the Yoshi cafe, it's fast, "cheap", tasty and fills the belly enough.
The little games involving the power band have little queues but it never takes more than a few minutes to get to play them and they are quite entertaining (some more than others).
Finally, for the photos, if you really want to do them, I'd suggest to do Mario and Luigi either directly when you get there in the morning or when you see that some people leave the queue when they do a break. Otherwise, it can take easily 40 minutes. Peach takes 10-15 minutes and Toad (Kinopio) is in "free access", you just need to wave at him and call him.
    5) as I said, we didn't see much of the rest of the park since it was not our main goal, but I still have some insights because it is actually a pretty great ressort besides Nintendo: the Harry Potter part is really cool, the Forbidden Journey is amazing, and the Hyppogriff ride is quite cool for a "soft" roller coaster (but is not worth 75 minutes of queuing).
We wanted to do the Minions ride, but we couldn't due to bad judgment: we tought (and the queing times on the app conforted us) that the Harry Potter rides would be more crowded than the Minions, and it was closer to Nintendo so we went there first. What actually happened is that the times in HP halved, while the Minions doubled. At 6pm, the Minion was 55 minutes (and we arrived to late, they closed at 18:05), while Forbidden Journey dropped to 15 minutes, and Hyppogriff to 25 (which is much more reasonable for this ride). They were even allowing access to Forbidden journey at 18:50 when we got off the Hippogriff. So, can't be 100% sure it is a constant but keep this in mind.
Also, it seems that if you have an express pass you can still enter if the ride is closed, I saw some people enter the Minions that way after we were turned down. Also, if staff see you rushing towards the ride as they are closing, there is a good chance they will let you in if you ask nicely (but onge it's closed, it's closed).
Here it is, sorry for the very long message, hope it helps anyone!

Me and my wife just went 2 days ago, this information was very useful, just wanted to mention something, when we got to the park, in the app when trying to reserve area timed entry ticket, it said (before the park opened) No Timed Entry Ticket (in red) and i thought that it was sold out with not more slots, but it just means that there is free entry, then it changes and let’s you reserve, anyway we entered without reservation because we went early but, going out the amount of people making line was huge, btw if you are planning to eat at kinopio’s cafe, when is too crowded there is 2 lines one for getting time tickets to come back and the other one to redeem them and enter to eat. Anyway this video helps alot.

Hello, I just wanna confirm that what Kensho said it's totally true.
I went to the park on Monday 2-21-23 (where the opening time should be at 10am based on the web page specifications) and they opened at 8.50am to be exactly (they opened around 8.20am for the people hosting at the Universal hotel, it's like one of the beneficts I think).
Right after they opened we went to super mario world without issues. We used the Single Rider option and we did Yoshi and Mario kart games waiting less than 5 minutes each. Super awesome.
The super final trick to add here is that you can reserve using the application a Time Entry for the night, so you will enjoy the park in day and night (which is super different in terms of illumination and beautifulness, you can get different types of photos, etc).
Enjoy guys and thanks for the video.

They really opened the gate at 8AM eventhough they said the opening hour is at 9AM. We ran all the way to SNW after we passed the gate. We spent our time at SNW till 1.30PM and managed to get lunch at Kinopio Cafe too.. We got the 11.45 - 12 entrance tickets for the Cafe. Spend 5 hours in SNW till my kids satisfied and even managed to play the Koopa Chalenge 2 times.

You provide info in a very clear and easy to understand manner and for that we're all thankful. While I totally agree from a financial standpoint that the other options mentioned are good I don't think we should downplay the potential upside the express passes give which was not mentioned. Yes, it does more than double your cost no question but especially for those who are only going for 1 day the ability to go onto multiple rides using the express line instead of the regular line could be the difference between being able to go on way more rides than you would have and it's hard to put a cost onto that. When I last went express lines generally took anywhere from 0 - 15 mins while the regular lines were 30 - 90 minutes. Potentially by the time I went through 4 rides that had express lines I would have only been able to go on 1 ride using the regular line. Anyway, the point of your video was in fact just mentioning the hack which is all true but just wanted to point out the express while expensive has some major perks that should be considered.

Hi there, I'm a bit confused about buying these tickets because the fine print on Klook is different than the fine print on the official USJ site. Here's what they say:
    Klook:
To provide the best experience, guests will need a "Universal Express Pass with an Area Timed Entry Ticket: Advance Booking" or "Area Timed Entry Ticket" to enter SUPER NINTENDO WORLD.
*Depending on crowd conditions, you may be able to enter an area without an Area Timed Entry Ticket: Advance Booking or Area Timed Entry Ticket.
    USJ:
To enter SUPER NINTENDO WORLD, an "Universal Express Pass with an Area Timed Entry Ticket: Advance Booking" or "Area Timed Entry Ticket"/”Standby Entry Ticket" is required.
    >Distribution of "Area Timed Entry Tickets" may end early depending on conditions on the day of visit.
    >There may be times when entry is possible without an "Area Timed Entry Ticket: Advance Booking" or an "Area Timed Entry Ticket"/”Standby Entry Ticket".
Klook makes it seem like you will just have a better chance at getting on rides with the Express Pass, but USJ says it's REQUIRED to even enter the park. What is your take on these differences? I'm wondering if things have changed since this video was made. Thanks for your input!

    • @KenshoQuest
      @KenshoQuest  6 місяців тому +1

Hi. It's the same policy worded a bit differently. A Studio Pass is required to enter Universal Studios Japan. An Express Pass is an optional extra purchase.
When entering Super Nintendo World, there are a couple different scenarios. One is the hack I share in a couple videos of getting in line early at USJ and entering Super Nintendo World before Area Timed Entry restrictions are put in place for that day. This is found in the final point of the USJ policy. "There may be times when entry is possible without an Area Timed Entry...."
The other scenario is that they have started restricting access into Super Nintendo World. In that case you need EITHER an "Universal Express Pass with an Area Timed Entry Ticket" OR an "Area Timed Entry Ticket". You can get an "Area Timed Entry Ticket" for free once you've entered USJ using the USJ app on your phone or a kiosk in the park. On our more recent visit to USJ, I shared the process step by step, including booking an Area Timed Entry on my phone: ua-cam.com/video/TQ7-nILdzeU/v-deo.html

    • Arriving early and waiting in line at SNW, would I be allowed through when they open or I have to absolutely buy an Early-Entry ticket from Klook to be allowed in?
    • If I was permitted entry from being there early would I eventually have to queue in for Area Timed Entry or I just bypassed it for the rest of my stay inside SNW?
    • What would happen if you end up not getting the Area Timed Entry ticket that day, or it's getting far too late in the day to make it worth a visit; would they be able to reschedule the tickets I have for that date or is it wasted if I only intended SNW to be my mainstay? I'm unsure if the tickets you purchase is exclusively for SNW or is applicable to going to any part of the park (such as Doraemon)
    • I assume the only way to get Area Time Entry ticket is by physically being there; Klook and no other website offers an early purchase correct?
    • For the NO LIMIT! Rainbow Road Parade, when that takes place would it be outside of SNW? If that's the case, would I be sacrificing leaving SNW and forfeit re-entry just to see the parade?
Apologies in advance for so many, of course you're not obligated to answer! I do appreciate your videos and thank you so much for your time & consideration 🤍

Hi! Many of your questions are answered in our latest USJ video: ua-cam.com/video/TQ7-nILdzeU/v-deo.html
      1) We recommend getting in line at Universal Studios Japan at least 90 minutes before the listed "opening time" for that day. The "early entry" line will be allowed in 15 minutes before everyone else. The normal line may still be let in before "opening time". This is a line for USJ (not Super Nintendo World).
      2) If you reach Super Nintendo World before it reaches capacity, you may be able to get in without an Area Timed Entry Ticket. However, if you leave Super Nintendo World, an Area Timed Entry will be required to re-enter.
      3) You will need to purchase a ticket (Studio Pass) for Universal Studios Japan. If you get a one day pass, it is only valid that day. If you are not able to get into SNW on the day of your visit, you would need to buy another 1-Day Studio pass for Universal Studios Japan to visit on another day.
      4) There are a couple ways to purchase an Area Timed Entry for SNW in advance. Klook sometimes offers 1 Day Studio Pass + Area Timed Entry for SNW. However, it is not always available and sells out quickly. You could also purchase and Express Pass that includes an Area Timed Entry. More on that in my video showing how to buy tickets on Klook: ua-cam.com/video/-qHAxopkBkY/v-deo.html
      5) Yes, the NO LIMIT! Parade is located outside SNW. (We discuss this in our most recent USJ video ua-cam.com/video/TQ7-nILdzeU/v-deo.html). I only advise leaving SNW to watch the parade if you have already secured an Area Timed Entry to re-enter SNW, or you are finished with SNW for the day. 🌺Heidi

Hello, thanks for the great video! I wanted to see if you could help me figure out a strategy to somehow get access to both Harry Potter and SNW. Hopefully hear from you soon.

    • @KenshoQuest
      @KenshoQuest  Рік тому +1

Hi, from our experience and from following the patterns on usjinfo.com/ Harry Potter World is usually not as crowded as SNW. In fact, when I asked an attendant he said that HPW only sometimes has area time entry available. So unless you are going on a holiday like during Golden Week or a weekend then you should be able to go straight to HPW after SNW. I recommend that you try to book your timed entry back into SNW while you are in it. But most likely you won't be able to do this until sometime after 9AM. And if it doesn't show on your app try restarting it. IF still doesn't show then ask an attendant if area timed entry is in effect. Your re-entry into SNW will most likely be after 3pm as it fills up fast. We do not think you can book more than one timed entry at a time. I hope this helps and isn't too confusing!!

An Area Timed Entry Ticket may or may not be required to enter Harry Potty World depending upon how crowded it is at that day/time. You can get an Area Timed Entry ticket once inside the park by using the USJ app on your phone or a kiosk.
Super Nintendo World usually requires an Area Timed Entry Ticket these days, as it is the most busy section of the park. If you get an Express Pass that includes Super Nintendo World, you are guaranteed an Area Timed Entry time slot, whereas if you try to get one once inside USJ, you might be too late and there might not be any left.
I explained in more detail about timed entry tickets in a previous video. The main difference is that now you do need a timed ticket, even if you enter the park an hour early: ua-cam.com/video/wT9e6PYLQts/v-deo.html

Hi! We visited in December and SNW got crowded as the day went on, but Universal Studios was not as crowded that time of year as it is currently. Mid-August is probably going to be the most crowded time. It’s up to you if you’re fine arriving 90 minutes early and getting an Area Timed Entry Ticket when you get inside. Or if you’d feel better paying for an Express Pass and knowing for sure you’ll be able to visit SNW. (We chose not to pay extra). 🌺 Heidi

    • @KenshoQuest
      @KenshoQuest  Рік тому +1

Hi! An “Area Timed Entry Ticket” allows you to enter either Super Nintendo World or Harry Potter at a specific time. You would still need an Attraction Timed Ticket for a particular ride, such as Mario Kart, if you want to be in a faster line than the regular line. Once inside Universal Studios Japan, it is free to use the USJ app or a kiosk to book an Area Timed ticket and an Attraction Timed Ticket. Express Passes are an extra cost up front, and have their own line.
I explain about timed tickets in this separate video: ua-cam.com/video/wT9e6PYLQts/v-deo.html
And I explain about the types of tickets, including Express Passes, in this video: ua-cam.com/video/-qHAxopkBkY/v-deo.html

    Hi there!
    This didn’t work for me (05/06/23) :(
I watched your video before we went to USJ today. We arrived there at 08:00 and by that time, they already were allowing people in. We could not secure a timed entry pass until it was scanned in at the gate and we were inside.
We got to Super Mario World at 08:30 and they already had 3 staff waiting there checking for peoples timed area passes so we couldn’t go in. We were lucky and secured one for 12:30 today, so we have to wait until then.
Either we didn’t get there early enough to be let in or they have realised what people have been doing and have put staff on there earlier.
    Hope that helps ☺️

Klook does offer an “Early Entry + 1 Day Studio Pass”. This allows you to get into the park 15 minutes before people who have just a Studio Pass. That doesn’t mean the park won’t open early. As an example, it’s possible that “Early Entry” ticket holders may be allowed in at 8am and regular Studio Pass holders in at 8:15am. 🌺 Heidi

Hi! To get into SNW, an Area Timed Entry Ticket is required. Once you enter Universal Studios Japan, you can use either the USJ app on your phone or a kiosk to get an Area Timed Entry Ticket. But it’s important to get to the park early, as these can run out. If you’re your late, you might get a standby ticket, or none at all. Getting Attraction Timed Tickets for the rides (Mario Kart and Yoshi’s Adventure) will help you get on the rides faster but is not required. You could wait in the regular lines for the rides.
