I'm Jewish. Was born into the Jewish culture. The rabbis and the synagogue are beautiful traditionally, but they were never able to answer the question of: how does this apply to me today. Plus, it was in Hebrew, which didn't help. Thus, I was always seeking. I am a Follower of Christ, but that doesn't negate the fact that I am Jewish. Also, none of us are complete until we come to Christ. Thank You Jesus for redeeming me from the pit!🙏

You can still keep Torah & follow Jesus 🤍 it’s what He taught! Everything Jesus lived and taught was Torah. 🙌🏼

I am a born again, bible believing, Spirit filled Christian who loves Jesus Christ with my whole heart. But I also love the Jewish people and I pray and support Israel in this current middle eastern terrorist fight. I am sorry that Christians (well, were they really?) were anti-semitic throughout history. But I can tell you that my church family loves you all and supports you too. I cringe when I listen to a youtube channel that instills hatred towards God's chosen ones. Anyway, I just wanted to say that.
Also, I love reading the Old Testament, and as the years go by, I truly see Jesus in the OT as being foretold. It is more clear to me now than ever before.
This is my first time listening to this channel - I really appreciate how loving these two gentleman are, saying it like it is :).

@@PazPinhasRahamim9220 That's incorrect. These are two different ancestral lines that both go back to King David, one through David's son Solomon and the other through David's son Nathan. The lineage recorded in Matthew through Solomon _and eventually through Jehoiachin,_ is for Joseph. We specifically read:
      Matthew 1:16
"Jacob *was* the father of Joseph the husband of Mary, by whom Jesus was born, who is called the Messiah."
This lets us know several things:
1)This is definitely Josephs' lineage: 'Jacob *was* the father of Joseph the husband of Mary.'
      2) even Yeshua's 'legal' father, Joseph, was from the line of David...by law he was a descendant
      3) Yeshua's *biological* lineage to King David was *not* through the Joseph due to Jehoiachin's curse, which means we must look to Mary's lineage.
Luke records Mary's lineage. You need to back up a chapter. Mary was a cousin of Elizabeth who was from the line of Levi as was her husband the priest Zacharais. She was related to this line through Elizabeth but Mary _was also in the line of David._ We know this because Elizabeth acknowledged that the baby in her womb, John the Baptist, already filled with the Holy Spirit, lept for joy when Mary entered with Yeshua in her own womb. Elizabeth said:
      Luke 1:43
"And how has it happened to me, that the mother of *my Lord* would come to me?"
Elizabeth, wife of the priest, said the baby in Mary (Yeshua) was her _Lord._ Later, Elizabeth's husband, the *priest* Zacharias who knows all of this, says:
      Luke 1:67-69
".. Zacharias was filled with the Holy Spirit, and prophesied, saying: "Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, for He has visited us and accomplished redemption for His people, and has raised up a horn of salvation for us *In the house of David His servant--* "
According to Zacharias, Mary was of the lineage *of David.*
This confirms what the angel Gabriel also told Mary:
      Luke 1:30-35
"The angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary; for you have found favor with God. And behold, *you* will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name Him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High; *and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David;*
Mary didn't ask _how_ her baby would be a son of David, she already knew she was a descendant of David and was told by the Angel that *God* would be the Father.
"and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and His kingdom will have no end." Mary said to the angel, "How can this be, _since I am a virgin?"_ The angel answered and said to her, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; *and **_for that reason_** the holy Child shall be called the Son of God."*
Mary was a direct descendant of King David. Her only question was how can I have a son since I am a virgin. The angel responded that the Most High would overshadow her and for that reason the holy Child would be called the Son of God...God Himself would be the father, even though she was a virgin and a blood descendant of King David.
Luke records Mary's lineage through David *by his son Nathan,* _who is not in the line of Jehoiachin,_ and begins by saying:
      Luke 3:23
"When He began His ministry, Jesus Himself was about thirty years of age, being, *as was supposed,* the son of Joseph, the son of Heli,"
It was 'supposed', meaning everyone 'assumed' Joseph was the father of Jesus. Other scripture also indicates that people believed Jesus has been conceived in fornication, prior to Joseph and Mary getting married. We see it hurled as an insult to Jesus in this conversation (basically calling Jesus a bastard):
      John 8:39-42
"They answered and said to Him, "Abraham is our father." Jesus said to them, "If you are Abraham's children, _do the deeds of Abraham._ But as it is, you are seeking to kill Me, a man who has told you the truth, which I heard from God; this Abraham did not do. You are doing the deeds of your father." They said to Him, *_"We_** were not born of fornication;* we have one Father: God." Jesus said to them, "If God were your Father, you would love Me, _for I proceeded forth and have come from God,_ for I have not even come on My own initiative, but He sent Me."
They 'supposed' Joseph was Jesus' illegitimate father. Jesus told them who His actual Father is in this conversation, God.
Heli _is Mary's father._ Every Jew knows that 'Jewishness' comes from the mother's line. This comes from the time of Torah. This explanation is from chabad.org.
      ****
"The Code of Jewish Law clearly states that a child of a Jewish mother is Jewish, regardless of the father’s lineage (or whatever else may show up in a DNA test), while the child of a non-Jewish mother is not Jewish. Matrilineal descent has been a fundamental principle of Torah since the Jewish people came into existence."
      ****
Both Joseph and Mary were 'Jewish' so what's the point of bringing this up? The point is *_where this law comes from and what it's getting at._* It comes from the time of Ezra but more specifically from Deuteronomy. I will post a portion of this rule *explained,* (where it comes from and what it means).
      ***************
"Rabbi Shimon did not derive this rule from a passage in Deuteronomy. It was an uncontested tradition long before. He only sought a scriptural allusion. alone. As we can see from Ezra, it was a long-standing tradition that Jewishness is received from the mother. But since we know that every such tradition must be somehow reflected within the written word of the Five Books of Moses, Rabbi Shimon sought an allusion to this tradition as well. And he ingeniously found something quite compelling.
In Deuteronomy 7:4, the generation that is about to enter the Land of Canaan is told:
You shall not intermarry with them; you shall not give your daughter to his son, and you shall not take his daughter for your son. For he will turn away your son from following Me, and they will worship the gods of others, and the wrath of G‑d will be kindled against you, and He will quickly destroy you.9
Read those verses carefully. G‑d is warning the people not to intermarry with the people of the land they are about to enter. Neither their sons nor their daughters should intermarry.
What would you expect next? “For he will turn your daughter away from Me.” Or “She will turn your son away from Me.”
But that’s not what He says. “He will turn your son from following Me.”
Who is that son? Who is the “He” that is turning that son away?
There are only two possible interpretations, and both lead us to the same conclusion.
One possibility is that this is speaking of the son of your daughter- since grandsons are often called sons in the Hebrew Bible. She is the one mentioned first in the verse, who was taken by a non-Jewish man. That is the “he” that is turning that grandson away. But that grandson is still considered your son.
*That being so, we see that the child of a Jewish woman, even when the father is not Jewish, is still considered Jewish-”your son.”"*
      **********
You can find the article on chabad.org. Clearly a grandson, a son born to a Jewish woman who is not married to a Jewish man, is considered the 'son' of her father. Her children are Jewish _for this reason._
Again a grandson born to a Jewish woman is considered the son of her father, her children are Jewish for this reason. Mary's child, was considered the son of her father, Heli, and of his lineage.
      Back to Luke:
      Luke 3:23
"When He began His ministry, Jesus Himself was about thirty years of age, being, *as was supposed,* the son of Joseph, *the son of Heli,"*
Luke says Jesus was the _supposed son of Joseph_ but was the son of Heli (his grandfather), through Mary.

I don't understand why we can't look for Jesus in the Passover. He's our Passover Lamb, if we find Jesus all throughout the seder then doesn't that further support His own claims about Himself? Also, why wouldn't gentiles be required to observe Gods holy days? I understand that Jews have claimed ownership of them and have maintained them through history, but God says they are His... If Christians are not required and we have our own traditions and the Jews have theirs, isn't that rebuilding the dividing wall between Jew and gentile?

I’m a messianic Jew and I completely agree with you. I think it’s beautiful when Christians aim to understand and practice Jewish traditions. Yeshua is present in the OT, from the beginning. Jews can disagree with this and Christians can deny the Jewish roots of the faith but they are both misguided, lol. It’s unfortunate my Jewish relatives think I’m a heretic or crazy and it’s sad that Christians don’t understand why messianic Jews differentiate ourselves in name and customs. I follow Jesus and he said we’d be hated. Religion has just been a mess. If we all just followed YESHUA what a beautiful world we’d have.

@TheAlexa6 this is very encouraging for me. When I realized the importance of following the Torah and recognizing that I'm the adopted one in the family, it caused me to be on fire for the Jews. I might do passover, but it feels out of place if a Jew isn't leading it.

Not only were there Jesus following Jews who observed Jewish law (Torah) in the first century - THERE WERE CHRISTIAN GENTILES who also were following the Torah & going to synagogue etc as explained in Acts 15 as well as historical documents!!!

Believers in the New Testament are called Christians, not Messianic Jews, Jew and Gentile are one in Jesus, I love the Jewish people and the Land of Israel, these are other things that divide the body of Christ!!!

@@majorpaynei86 _Now_ you are talking about the flesh. Before you said 'in Jesus'. In Jesus, there is no distinction. We are the same in Christ, we are not valued differently. The flesh counts for nothing. You said: "There is _still_ a distinction between Jew and Gentile _in Jesus"_
_In Jesus,_ there is *no distinction* between Jew and Gentile/Greek. In the outward flesh of this body, yes there are still males and females, those who are circumcised and those who are not circumcised, masters and slaves. *In Jesus* _there is no distinction._ We are either followers of Jesus or we are not (whether male, female, jew, gentile, free, slave). I'm sure you already know this.

I do disagree with not trying to find Yeshua in everything. He IS in everything, He put Himself everywhere for His people to find! Pesach and Sukkot especially. So don't manipulate people but we need to show His people that He's been there all along and they aren't abandoning their religion or heritage by following Him.

@@martapfahl940 We 100% agree! The issue is that many people either knowingly or unknowingly define “Christian” as a religion in opposition to all things Jewish and believe that in order for Jews to receive Jesus they need to convert to “Christianity” and cast aside Jewish Identity. The term Christian is by no means wrong, but it is misunderstood by many. We affirm Jewish believers in Jesus are still Jewish.
