It teaches accountability & teaches them to strive. Teach your kids to be average & they will fall far below the standards. Do you want your children to succeed???😅
My daughters both have learning disabilities. For my older one I was glad she got a C in anything. She is now in college and made Dean’s List several times and the college scholar programs. All because I didn’t pressure her to get great grades. For them it was if you tried your hardest to get any grade it was fine with me. I did rejoice when she almost made honor roll but I didn’t expect her to or punish her because she didn’t. For them the effort was enough. Neither of them ever purposely failed.
My daughters both have ADHD and a few other learning disabilities. I wasn’t expecting them to get great grades. My thing was if they got a D it was fine with me. As long as I knew and they knew they tried their hardest. They were both average grade students and I was proud of them for that. My older daughter has Dyslexia and Dyscalculia so for her to get a passing grade in anything was good enough for me. She is now in college working towards a teaching degree and is excelling in her courses. She’s made the Deans List and the college’s scholar programs in her few years there.

the point is to not teach your kids to be average?? but to know it’s okay to not be the best but still try hard.

Learning is one thing...
You don't have to be perfect to learn.
It teaches you to do what your told without question.
I did not get straight A's lol
It teaches people to strive to be better. To better themselves and not just be alright at being mediocre.
you can strive for better by not trying to be the best and strive for being the best at what you understand and can do.
