Oh, there's the full edition of Color Your Night somewhere on the internet, and the second verse is just... You just gotta run it though yourself to see it
I already listened to it 🫢🤫 just didn't listen for the video...restraint is hard
The music is so upbeat, happy and exciting at first I almost forgot how depressing P3 actually is
More Explanation for Reload Tracks:
"When Moon's Reaching Out Stars" has a short version (previously used in-game) and a full-length version (for the Reincarnation remix album and, later, P3 Dancing). The "Reload" rearrangement uses the structure of the full-length version, complete with the extra lyrics saying "so different, now" as a second half of the "so miserable" verse.
"Mass Destruction's" verse in the preview is the new second verse to the original "Mass Destruction", which previously had one verse for P3 and one verse for P3 FES (that were combined in P3 Dancing). Instead of using the P3 FES version's verse for a second verse, as that version had been used in the epilogue story chapter exclusive to FES, a new verse was written.
"Changing Seasons" had French lyrics only because it was a vocal sample that was available for Meguro to use, off of a sample CD. Many other versions of "Changing Seasons", such as the version from the Reincarnation remix album, had already dropped the French, but Reload decided to add new lyrics to replace them!
"Color Your Night" is SO amazing - can't wait to see your reaction to the full version when you play the game!
"Full Moon Full Life" SEEMS to have a second rap verse and chorus, thanks to the international version of the "Meaning of Life" trailer using those instead of the first rap verse/chorus like in the Japanese trailer, and that just makes me want to hear the full version more!
Thanks for the extra information! I feel like Mass Destruction deserves its own video at this point for all the versions 😂
Also, I didn't know that about changing seasons, that's pretty funny actually
Slightly bummed about reload but am super excited for it too. Reason I am bummed is because I waited for over 10 years for them to remake or remaster 3. Like you I was waiting for that remake to avoid portable. Even pitched the idea on my podcast of a modern remake a few years back. But I eventually gave in when I got a steam deck. With mods I was able to essentially remaster the game. Played through it just under 2 years ago. Hoping and believe reload will feel fresh enough for me. But I am jealous you haven’t played the original. I gave it 10 years and of course a remake comes 2 years after I give in lol. Love the channel by the way. Keep up the amazing work!
Damn, I would've done the same in your shoes if I waited that long to be honest. I hope you get a chance to play Reload and still get those 'first-time' feelings!
Someone posted that Color Your Night is actually life changing and I have to agree. I can't get it out of my head! Such a great song. Makes the night time grinding so much more fun.
She really looks like Lyn
Me when i am racist
@@Megidolaon_ Me when I’m sensitive calling everything racist even though it isn’t
....i though this singer was the same person. They really do look alike from the photo, hair style too and smile. Lyn smiles like that.
That's what I'm saying! Little cousin in more ways than one!
Hell yea nice to see u do another Persona vid. I liked to hear ur perspective after hearing these snippets a billion time and I never realized how good of comparison u made on her vocals like u said she was like Lyns little cousin lol. Hope to see more Persona stuff man and I’ll love to see u upload ur persona 3 stream vods after I playthrough it myself day 1. Changing seasons broke me when I heard it again for the first time I do miss the French lyrics but it still hit nostalgia either way. PS I also wanted to add I that I hope you bring back shorts and your tiktok stuff when you feel like doing it again or upload more. Your little reel edits are really good.
Haha, I could only make those comparisons because I've done the same as you: listened to them a billion times lol. I definitely appreciate the support always, and I have plans to make more shorts content in the future; nothing concrete wholly yet, but I wanna use my main videos to fuel my shorts!
Very underrated! Ur editing and quality is top notch. I thought u had more subs, I was very surprised when I saw ur sub count. Great video!
I appreciate it! I've been getting better at more quickly making the effects so I can edit more quality content, so hearing that tells me I'm doing something right!
Great video dude, im surprised you dont have more subscribers! I hope you enjoy reload! Btw you can listen to the complete versions of some of the songs you just reacted to.
I already spoiled the full version of Color Your Night for myself, don't wanna spoil any more 😂
never knew you played p4g, nice.
I'd say it's my favorite Persona game... but it's the only one I've finished 😂
@@KozyKotatsuman please play persona 5 royal
I wouldn’t say the reload verse of mass destruction is “childish” per say, I feel like it gives more of a vibe of “nothing’s impossible, if you put in the work”
Haha I get exactly what you mean actually! I wasn't sure how to explain it best, maybe a better word was... more innocent? Still hard to describe
After hearing a lot of the full versions of these tracks, I truly believe the brand new tracks are the stand outs for Azumi. Color Your Night and Full Moon Full Life are dope but tracks like Mass Destruction, I don’t like the new enunciations of the “baby babyyys” in the OG P3. She’s still great tho, also great analysis and well edited video overall!
I’m sad we’re not getting the female protagonist option and the Aigis content from FES, but the game looks really good, even in spite of that. I’m especially obsessed with all the new music and remixes
I have a feeling that Atlus might sell some of that as DLC... 💀💀
Missing your videos! I hope everything is okay and that youre doing well. Looking forward to seeing more content in the future
I really appreciate your comment, and I assure you that everything is fine! I recently had a big move to a different part of Japan, so I've been adjusting. But there will be a new video, very soon!
Shoji did not leave the series. He left Atlus. He is still working with them as a freelance and is still pretty much their number one guy. He composed the score for Atlus's new IP Metaphor Re:Fantazio and is likely to be composing Persona 6 as we speak from what I've read.
I never thought they could equal Burn My Dread, but Full Moon Full Life does if it doesn't exceed it.
The new Changing Seasons is so much better than the original. Yeah, the random French was unique, but unique is not necessarily good. And the new singer's vocals just have a better timbre for these arrangements than the vocalist in the original. Also Color Your Night is THE track. Also the P3R intro is the best in the entire franchise and it's not even close. The visual style is unmatched, and the track perfectly captures the combination of angst, hopefulness, and goofiness that is modern Persona.
I think the new singer really shine in the Reload new songs
Now that you’re not working at ATLUS anymore, does that mean you could work with other companies?
Shoji Meguro: “I have a good relationship with ATLUS, so I don’t think I’ll work with other companies for a while. That’s not to say I cant do a collaboration on a song or two with other people, but in terms of doing a full soundtrack, I would only do that with ATLUS right now. But that’s also no promise that I’ll be the composer for future Persona games.”
Amazing job my dude, Azumi has been getting a lot of flack for her vocals just because it doesn't sound as grungy as Yumi's.
But I feel like both vocals have its place. And I can't help but feel the reason most of us older fans find it hard to listen to is because we can't get rid of our biases as we grew to love the older versions despite the fact that some of the new songs are technically better from an objective point of view(some songs just sound more coherent, not to mention the lyrics actually make sense this time around).
But that's why I'm so excited for new fans of Persona 3 to get to hear these songs so that we can have their perspective with fresh ears, no bias, no nostalgia-driven opinions as we get to hear it for what it truly is. No matter how good or bad their reactions may be, I'm willing to accept.
And sure everybody can have their preferences, I for one still prefer the older versions but that doesn't mean the new versions are anywhere near bad at all.
I trust in the Persona team's ability to create great music just as they have done for the past 2 decades and whatever reasons they may have for making the changes that they did for this series, even if some of it I don't like, I'll still support because I know without a doubt that it comes from a place of love.
My gripes are less about vocals because theres no use comparing nostalgia against this. I'm more nitpicky on the mixing of the audio and beats for some rearranged tracks but overall none of them are bad, far from it.
@@TheCreed1217 Understandable, and I don't even blame you guys cause I feel the same way with a few songs but because the songs have such solid ground to stand on, it's hard to make them sound bad.
Honestly Mass destruction is the only track I would say is easily better in the OG mix but the rest is either just as good or better(like Changing seasons)
I do prefer the original songs as well (most likely partially due to nostalgia as well, like many others) and I do think most of the players of the original ones will think the same but I agree that it does not mean the new ones are bad, they are just different.
Also, I do like the new tracks. I think my main problem is with the remixed ones from P3.
I have faith too, I hope that this game is a good sign for Persona's future! It seems everyone loves the new originals. I don't judge old fans for being afraid of companies messing with the original of anything...I'm a big star wars fan so I can relate hardcore on this point 🥲
Spotify nowwwwwww….. pls ahhahaha 😂 i wanna listen to it non stop!
Love color your night is my favorite OST Persona 3 amazing video I subscribed to your UA-cam channel keep it up ☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️🏳️⚧️
I still prefer yumi kawamura style
Yeah I much prefer the og. She really botched the “baby baby” ugh and the “do do do doowah” from the boss theme.
The new singer is great, but Yumi (the og) is better in the majority. The new one is great with her new original songs, but not as much for the old songs. Her “Baby Baby” is very off compared to the original.
The original is better both in sound and in theme, the lyrics being altered to be sorta more upbeat detracts from the overall themes of Persona 3 which are depression and despair. There were already tracks that uplifted the players mood to balance it out because of the added theme of hope. Comparing the remade older songs with their originals in terms of singing, Yumi is clearly better and Azumi unperformed. Those songs don't work with Azumi because the tone of those songs doesn't match up with her singing style so she clearly can't articulate her vocals to match the tone. They were made with Yumi in mind. However where Azumi shines isn't the old songs being remade but rather in the new songs. Those songs were made with her vocal style in mind.
"The overall themes of Persona 3 are depression and despair" is a bit of a surface level take. The game is about being hopeful and always moving forward, and no matter how bad things get, life is always worth living. The soundtrack has always been hopeful and upbeat in the face of death. No comment on the music opinions itself because I mostly agree though, the covers aren't nearly as good as the original songs.
@@Robin-gj9nz It's actually not a surface level take. The main plot and story focus on depression and despair in terms of it's world building, everything you go through in the game, the world perpetually gets worse and worse, leading to a end of the world doomsday. The added element of hope represents the characters ongoing battle against it, and at times they falter to despair before being lifted up.
The characters aren't perfect and are subject to despair and depression so they will occasionally fall before they get back up. But that's also the point of the music, depression, despair and hope all play a part of the music both in sound and in lyrics.
@@DigitalAlucardYeah, that was a little uncharitable of me. People tend to forget about the hopeful message of the game and just boil it down to the surface level death, despair, etc stuff though, and it does bother me a bit so I was a bit defensive out of the gate.
The lyric changes don't bother me too much because the game starts pretty light-hearted for a good while, it doesn't start getting really serious until October-ish. I'll need to hear the songs in-game for full context to figure out how I feel about the song changes, but from what I've heard, it doesn't seem like it will detract in a substantial enough way to affect the experience. The soundtrack as a whole seems to sway more light-hearted for sure, but I haven't heard all the songs in context yet so it might be fine, it might not. Are there any particular songs that rub you the wrong way or moments you're worried about the changes affecting? I think dialing up the hopeful aspects slightly in hopeful or "everyday" parts of the game can be a defensible choice.
@@Robin-gj9nz The game starts off light-hearted? So the opening cutscene of Yukari holding a gun against her forehead struggling to pull the trigger and sits there crying is light-hearted to you?
Song wise I have an issue trying to modernize the lyrics to be more hopeful when that's the job of the characters is to bring hope and light into the world and the music follows. I don't want the music to dictate the theme of the story, I want the writing to do that. Music shouldn't be a leading factor but a secondary factor instead.
People tend to forget that Persona is a dark story, I'd rather it be more realistic in it's world building and such rather than a fantasy like utopia where nothing bad ever happens. Depressing moments can help make you relate to the story better. I played the original a few years ago when my dad was dying, it's not like the depressing dark tone was ever going to detract from playing.
@@DigitalAlucard The game does start off as light-hearted in a LOT of ways. I didn't mean the very beginning, as the imagery right out of the gate is pretty brutal, but rather the first half of the game when SEES is getting into their groove. Light-hearted might not be the best word, but I'm referring to the everyday vibe of a school life simulator like this game. The Dark Hour is not the whole game. They're all still kids and they go to school and have fun with their friends and live their lives despite the life-threatening circumstances.
The music fitting this is fine in my opinion, making music which matches these everyday scenes is perfectly reasonable. The game has its more somber and melancholy tracks for the moments it needs them, and most of them are not vocal tracks.
I get where you're coming from though, I hope the songs are good in context. I'm a bit worried about Living with Determination specifically, because it's such a simple song and they could try to add more depth/sounds to it in a way the breaks the beautiful simplicity of such an important track in the game, I haven't heard it yet but I hope it's just a beautiful. Anyway this was a good conversation, I hope you have a good day my friend.
The best version of the game is Fes , P3P coping needs to stop
You Living in the past.. just is nostalgic.
@@justaperson3652 i didn't play persona games until after covid.
@@BannedTman The nostalgia argument is the only one they have. They can't cope any other way.
P3Fes was the best version, it's reload now though
