One thing that sucks about this arm is the price 139$, wish it was like 70$. But after install and using it for a day, it’s solid , extremely satisfied. Price is steep.

Great choice for a boom arm and microphone. I am planning on buying both the Shure SM7B, and the Rode PSA1+!
I am just curious on what audio interface do you plan on using? I will be getting the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 3rd Gen as well as the Cloudlifter CL-1, since it is recommended, otherwise the SM7B will be quiet.

Thanks I love the SM7b. I have a Focusrite/cloudlifter but recently purchased a Rodecaster Pro 2. I don’t have to use a cloudlifter with the RCPII and I like the manual faders. Can’t go wrong with a focusrite though. I will say you have to change some settings with the focusrite app which is kind of annoying. You can set gain and adjust monitor levels on the unit itself. On the rcp I have all that at my fingertips if I need it. It’s definitely a lot more expensive though. Hope all goes well with your audio journey!

@@aleksandarharalanov i have the same mic and boom. At first i had the focusrite scarlett as well as the cloudlifter. I since switched to the goxlr and im so glad i did. Goxlr mini to be exact. Look into it if you hadnt already. I kept the cloudlifter in line as some swear it adds tone and depth. But the glxlr has a good midas pre amp therfore CL isnt needed. Makes more sense running a decent amp for a decent mic. Otherwise ppl are basically cheaping out on the pre amp then adding a cloudlifter which acts a band aid in that case.. oh and a goxlr mini retails around 250.00 which is close to the same as the scarlett and CL together. Its a no brainer. Not to mention with the goxlr you can easily mix your audio.... no need for adapters to do live monitoring on a regular headset. The list of benifits goes on. Even if you already went with scarlett i would heavily consider it.

@@philthyphil1017 You are absolutely right. Since of writing that comment, I had not looked into the GoXLR, however, I quickly realized that it is much more worth. I am definitely getting the mini and a CL just in case.

will it hold a hyper x solocast mic

It should. Per looking up that mic it has a Versatile built-in mount adapter fits 3/8-inch and 5/8-inch threads, making it compatible with most mic stands or boom arms.

no it didn't help. I came to watch the setup with the piece that fits into the bench not the clamp 😕

I’m sure you can find another UA-camr that has a video about it. I’m not cutting a hole in my desk. 🙂
