VC is a gamble. As some people mentioned, the issues: sellers not answering questions, not posting clear images, fakes, posting little/no descriptions, the ridiculous extra hidden fees on top of the price listing - think about an extra $400 for every $600 price list. They will keep the hidden "processing" fees if you want to re-list the item you bought, within 72 hours of delivery of item. AND their customer service is non-existent. Do NOT buy from VC it's a gamble if you require peace of mind and quality customer service. You might not get either.
Bought my first item from them and I was scared because I didn’t read the bad reviews until after my purchase. To my surprise the item was legit. It was such a unique vintage handbag that it was hard duplicate so I feel fortunate about that. That said I don’t think I will purchase from there again because I had to hold my breath hoping that my purchase wasn’t a fake. Love my vintage LV bag though.
@@kons7057 I hope it works out for you. I did ask questions on my item and negotiated a better price for myself. I got a good feeling from the person I dealt with and also got an honest reply from the authentication dept. My experience was good so I hope yours is as well. I just don’t think I will try it again. I think I’m going to stick with Gilt or FASHIONPHILE instead because I trust them more.
@@cassd4492 thank u I feel better now because the person has been contacting me about the bag ad I can tell if some is fake or nt it’s too many scams out there smh bt I did get an email saying the person has sent the bag out thru ups so I feel better now lol
Thank you for the very informative video! I came across your channel while debating on purchasing a YSL Kate from VC. Sellers not answering questions + posting descriptions at a bare minimum with very few photos seem to be a common occurrence and really put me off buying from them..So I'm glad it worked out for you in the end! Super cute bag btw and def legit 😍 (former Bayswater owner here)
Vestiere is the one that lowballs and I get upset over that as a seller. I had received a bag as a gift, it retails for around 750 USD, and I kept receiving notifications from the website itself to drop it to 120? In the end it sold elsewhere. Also, when you want to buy something you can not make an offer to the seller, the website limits it? So I wanted this coat, wanted to make a lower offer and couldn’t. Again, because it is based on an algorithm. So it just turns into a waiting game for something you would have just bought outright.
You don’t need to get a new strap, just take out these two tiny links that are damaged of they bother you. It’s only two links. Also, regular pliers work great, you just need a rag or or a towel inserted when squeezing.
Thank you for the tip! Where is your favorite place to get items authenticated? I have had luck with Real Authentication, Authenticate First and KC Authenticators (LV and Gucci only).
@@laurenromeo I am European, so I know a local consignment store in Vienna, but honestly I mostly refer acquaintances to go there, as I tend to know what I’m buying, since I target specific items and I keep them on the list for a very long time before pulling the trigger (usually waiting for sales etc).
@@laurenromeo Side-note: Gucci can be tough to authenticate as they have so many styles of so many different items and so many limited series. Especially when it comes to ready to wear, glasses and other accessories. If it looks good, it’s good 😂 Don’t think anyone can say more than you can. For LV there are most definitely signs that only an authenticator could decipher. Same for Chanel.
@@Commentator541 You made such a good point about Gucci! This is one of the reasons I purchased my Soho Disco brand new. The super fakes of current styles are crazy hard to pin point.
Correct, the question is how qualified their authentication team is.. their customer service is horrible. Equal to non existent.. talking from personal experience about customer service .
Sorry for the confusion! This particular bag ended up being authentic. Proceed with caution if you're going to buy on this platform because there are so many fakes 😔.
the no returns policy has definitely stopped me from buying on the app. It’s really hard to find professional sellers on the app where you’re able to actually return an item.
Interesting! I’m in the US and looking at Mulberry bag also coming from Hong Kong...but I have never purchased thru Vestiaire and I’m kinda sketched out
I will say, the leather quality is superb! I'm not so sure how I feel about the hardware quality though. It seems to tarnish quickly. I think in the future, I would only purchase something like the Millie (which has virtually no hardware).

Good points! I too have experienced some of these issues and I have to agree that it is quite frustrating.

I should have been more patient 😬. Lesson learned! Thanks for the tips and encouragement.
06:48 You can still get it authenticated, it just costs 15 USD

Bay authentication is marvelous. They catch the fakes. Even good fakes.
the luxury items gets shipped to Vestiaire they do the authentication and than ship out

lol, was thinking the same here. This video seems like an 'advertisement' for the website!

Hi! Couldn't agree more with you. Very frustrating to get something in worse condition than described 😔.
What I bought is real. I can tell.
How much was shipping and fees if you don't mind me asking?
I don't mind at all 😄. Shipping and fees came to $42.90. This particular bag came from a seller in Hong Kong and I'm in the US.

@@raduna2106 Definitely proceed with caution! Hope everything checks out ok. Don't forget to use a third party to authenticate (just incase 😉 ❤).
I got screwed by Vestiaire too.
Oh no! I am so sorry to hear that. What happened in your situation?
Lady mart is best for buying hand bags and wallets.
I will have to check that out. Thanks! What does their authentication process entail?
Mulberry is good quality but not great finish I must say.

@@laurenromeo This is sort of what I am referring to. It can also happen that the piping is not perfect, or glazing etc, but the leather is solid.
