When you are prepped, you are not told what to say - you just have a moment to think about what to say so you aren't taken by surprise. Some questions may be too personal or offensive, even legitious or simply ones you don't have an answer for, so it is normal for guests on talk shows or panels to have an idea of what's happening. It is not dictated.
As the old saying goes, "there's always two sides to every story". None of us will probably ever know the entire truth, but I have to say, Sharon does make a compelling argument for being "setup" and betrayed.
I agree there are two sides to a story, and we only heard Megan's side in the interview that Piers Morgan said he didn't believe a word she was saying. What is racist about not believing someone's story? Some people make stuff up to get attention. That's why I am a bit dubious about what people say without hearing both sides or given any facts. In Megan's interview, we didn't get any facts, and we only had one side of the story. The only racism is calling people racist because they are white.

I can understand her position. As a friend she was upset with her for not sticking with the pact they had made. The producers should have found another way for Sharon to explain herself rather than have unexpected questions asked to her.

I think the thing that really put me off was her going “don’t go and try to cry” and then continues to cry herself. Then tries to get her friend to educate her. I think for white people, especially ones of a particular age, they look for specific racist words to determine racism. As a Black person down south, I can walk into a restaurant and know whether I should turn right back around. But, that's something that's really hard to explain to some white people.

Then they said would you be ok if someone on the panel didn’t agree with you. She also agreed. So they set the stage for what happened. What she didn’t expect was for them to have questions written out because usually the questions are run by everyone.
I agree. It took me a few days to realize this but it dawned on me that they probably set her up to argue and push some buttons. I’ve been watching the show since the beginning and the addition of Elaine and Amanda was nice but the show changed a lot. It’s extremely P.C. now. Too much for me. Everything is so race sensitive that I when I'm picking our fabric or changing my furniture, I always tell the saleperson I do not like Asian design (so don't waste your time showing me some things you were going to) then I feel pressured to reassure that I do like Asian people. I love Mrs. Osbourne as well, but she honestly was on the defensive for no reason at all. To me, it wasn't a conversation that should have happened in the open. I think for white people, especially ones of a particular age, they look for specific racist words to determine racism. As a Black person down south, I can walk into a restaurant and know whether I should turn right back around. But, that's something that's really hard to explain to some white people.
Now that I heard her side of the story here and her words on social media it seems all parties concerned handled it wrong. Those two cohosts didn't have to ask questions from the producers if they didn't speak to her about it before the camera rolled. What she didn’t expect was for them to have questions written out because usually the questions are run by everyone.
I agree. It took me a few days to realize this but it dawned on me that they probably set her up to argue and push some buttons. I’ve been watching the show since the beginning and the addition of Elaine and Amanda was nice but the show changed a lot. It’s extremely P.C. now. Too much for me.
