Dear Cojak, I remember you also reviewed the original song. The Coke Studio version helped you to get the translated lyric. To understand the song imagine you are standing in front of a seashore alone on a moonlit night, where no people around, no sound from ships, only you and the sea face to face. It gives the feeling that you are so small in front of a vast natural phenomenon. All you want is to enjoy the peace and serenity of silence. Its all about love for existence. The first singer Babna Karim, is the lyricist and composer of the song., original singer. The second singer Palash Noor is the current vocalist of Warfaze. Babna an alumnus of BUET, later lecturer of the same university, now a US-based professional mechanical engineer, penned down the song on 29th Feb 1992 at a resthouse in Cox's Bazar. He first performed in front of 17 classmates on their vacation that night. later the song became the title track of the OBAK BHALOBASHA album of the band. This version is a memorabilia for the 40th anniversary of the mighty Warfaze. Coke Studio surprises audiences by starting the song with the original singer Babna. The primary plan was that Babna would carry out the song, later Palash's voice was recorded as the "passing the baton" to the current generation of Warfaze and Gen Z, to make a timeless or forever impression from generation to generation. Several compositions were prepared by Warfaze keyboardist Shams Mansoor Ghani and were rejected to finalize the CSB version. Two lead guitarists played the lead riff, one with white deadlock Ibrahim Ahmed Kamal, one of fastest fingers from BD. He is one of the guitar maestros along with Ayub Bacchu. The second lead guitarist is Samir, the youngest member of the band. He is one of the producers of the CSB version. Original music and lyric is so strong that CSB does not dare to deviate and fuse with any other song. Enjoy.
The song is about loving yourself. You do not need to possess so many materials or things to enjoy your life, to be loved and to be appreciated. The nature (say it eternity, ocean etc) always appreciates your existence in this world. After realizing the truth, he plays the guitar with joy and the guitar tune expresses his tear (feelings) of joy as if it is sketching the ocean with illumining stones like diamond and emerald. So, simply with your existence you could be giving or contributing as well. Now check the lyrics and let me know how my interpretation was.

Babna karim sir, that time was the student of Bangladesh University of engineering and technology (BUET) with his other 17 classmate went Cox's bazar and there he charmed with the vastness of the Ocean. After that he returned to his hotel room & wrote down this song on that evening. He expressed his gratitude to Almighty Allah for giving his existence (Babna sir) in this beautiful word, by this song.
This is about not just love to a specific person, like love between two person. it's beyond that. when you are in nature, suddenly you feel the peace and calmness in you heart and fall in love with the vast creation of nature, you feel the emptiness and loneliness but addicted and feel so happy with this, the pure sarinity .. its all about those state of mind. you just feel pure love, when all the world around you stand still and all the relationships feels meaningless, just your existance in this beautiful nature is real.
One of the oldest Bangladeshi music band is Warfaze ❤ and they have completed 40 years, and as part of that, Coke Studio is bringing back their songs recreated by them. Here the main singer is Babna Karim😊 But what's most enjoyable is the traditional bamboo flute of Bangladesh. 3:02 in that time you see the legend of this bamboo flute of Bangladesh and he is our Jalal vai ❤
Here's a suggestion for your UA-cam comment: Thank you so much for your heartfelt reaction! It’s amazing to see how Warfaze's 'Obak Bhalobasha' transcends language and culture, touching people from around the world. Your genuine emotions and tears really moved us. As Bangladeshis, we are proud of our music and the deep feelings it can evoke. It’s incredible to witness how this song connects us all. Much love from Bangladesh 🇧🇩❤!
On the occasion of 40 years of Warfaze Band, this song has been gifted to all Warfaze lovers by cokestudio bangla, they have recreated the song in which Bhavna Karim and Palash have sung. Babna karim usually composes the tune first and then writes the lyrics when he was Buet student in 1994. A group of 17 "BUET" classmates planned a memorable trip to Cox’s Bazar.at that moment he wrote this lyrics on coxs bazar.....after that he composes it with their own taste....... However, the flute of the original version is more lively.
The song you checked from the channel of Warfaze was the remastered one. The original version of 'Obak Valobasha' was 8.48 minutes long. As you understand music well, please listen to this song. The intro has a 1.50 minutes long guitar solo. You should not miss that guitar solo. You will realize how unique and psychedelic this song is. It is one of the best songs in any language. The original version has always been special for many people. I request you to listen to the orginal one released in 1992. You will thank me later.
I’ve been listening to this song all my life since the era of cassettes. But I never realized this song is such a phenomenal psychedelic music. After Coke Studio released the video, I tripped my balls on shrooms alone in my apartment while listening to the original masterpiece of this song. I was having an existential crisis asking myself all those questions, where did we come from? Where is God? Even when the peak moment hit, I felt like God was there and I was having its vision, and a second later it was just gone. I will never forget that experience in my life. Wow! It was always my favorite to listen to Bangla band songs but now the way I realize this song is gonna be my favorite psychedelic music.
Hi cojak, Babna Karim- the vocalist and writer of the song obak valobasha said this song is about "love of Existence" in a interview last year. He said "we didnt work for our life, but still gift of the life is given to all of us! And we all enjoying it right now. Every moment of this life is a gift and i am grateful for that to the GOD. So this song is about that."
Hey Cojak, appreciate the kind words. I'm a 26 year old boy from Dhaka. I love to find depth in simple things and explore philosophy in general. The song how it feels to me is about winding down everything, the chaos that surrounds us in our machinic urban life and what not, to a much simpler, more quiet, kind of like a state how one would achieve while meditating, letting go of the earthly connections, clearing out your "chi" like in Avatar (Ang), and connecting to the heavenly bodies, the mountains, the ocean, the planet, the cosmos, the idea of putting things into perspective. I think to put it in one word, it kind of speaks about "serenity" to me. I really like how it calms you down and raves you up at the same time. I liked the original version and I like this one too. Of course, criticism can always be there about how things could've been done differently, I appreciate the general concern. But I would also like to appreciate the effort put into here considering it came out from the pureness of the heart. I liked it.
Hello from Canada!🇨🇦🇧🇩 I just came across your channel while I was watching this video. I really appreciate you listening to/familiarising yourself with Bangladeshi music, which is usually quite underrated. The original singer Babna Karim wrote this song in memories of his brother who had passed away and how he was dealing with the grief I guess. A lot of the references to the ocean etc were metaphorical. He was at the beach with his friends though when he wrote the song.. Anyways again so cool that you're into Bangla music!
Sunjoy, Babna, Russell Ali, Kamal, Tipu are the founding band members of Warfaze we know of. First generation of Warfaze fans are obsessed with these guys. Attending their live shows were quite an experience. Sunjoy was a superior and authoritative frontman on stage. Sunjoy, an extremely high pitched vocal with ability to sing in rustic lower notes, set the template of other Warfaze vocals. He is now a banker. Russell Ali is now a music producer in LA. Worked with a few famous American musicians, played guitar with Limp Bizkit for short period of time. Originally Warfaze, Rockstrata (another legendary band), In Dhaka (one hit wonder) and Aces (BassBaba's band) wanted to release a mixed album together before disbanding (many of them were going abroad for studies). If Babna did not come up with many original compositions in the last moment, Warfaze would not have a separate album and be disbanded. Drummer Tipu single handedly kept on going with Warfaze after other four members pursued with higher studies and professional careers. Tipu, at the same time, was part of another great melodious pop rock band called Winning. They also have some timeless creations. 2nd generation Warfaze fans are obsessed with Mizan and Oni. Mizan was chosen for the band because his vocal textures and range matched a bit with Sunjoy. Warfaze is having long legacy. Many famous musicians like Bassbaba, Russell Ali's bother Rommel Ali (an amazing piano player) also worked with Warfaze. Yet Sunjoy, Russell Ali, Babna created illusive legacy for themselves. Kamal was and still is one of the best guitarists of the country. Look how he is playing with his damaged finger.
i could be wrong but i think in the last part with the guitars and and flute together they were going for the harshness and softness, two opposite sides coexisting together and for us to embrace both.
The song was released in 1994.. . 30 years ago. Warfaze would be 40 years in june 6 this year. First singer of the video is babna karim who was in the lineup of warfaze's first three albums and is a legend of warfaze. The tune and the lyrics of Obak Bhalobasha was also composed by him And the 2nd singer is polash noor who is current vocalist of warfaze since 2016.
Wharfage then released their second album "Abak Bholasha" to introduce the young generation of Bangladesh to rock music. The first iconic identity of Bangladesh's rock music can also be called the song "Abak Balbosha". Although the song was first performed at a concert in 1992. Ibrahim Ahmed Kamal da made the generation that is not familiar with any music except romantic and patriotic, not only familiar with heavy metal but also mesmerized. Although this song was for many more years ahead. There was a generation that listened and understood rather than listening to music. With only guitar, keyboard and drums, Babna Sir's singing made the hearts of a generation burst like obsidian. It mixed with the intravenous blood. What I used to hear as a love song as a young man, as a young man, I understood it differently. Kamal'dar Heavy at 8 minutes 37 seconds. Illustrated will still hypnotize anyone.
Entering on their 40th year, Warfaze, one of the pioneer bands of rock music in Bangladesh & was ranked 5th in "Best Hard Rock Bands" on TheTopTens, re-envisions this golden track which was first released in 1994.
Thanks for your reaction. Babna, the opening lead vocal who wrote this masterpiece, mentioned in an interview that this is no human love song. This is his way of showing tribute to our Creator (Allah) who gave us everything without us doing anything to be blessed with so much mercy upon us.
Can’t express the love when YOU specifically react Bengali song.. specially for this somg, it’s really important to understand the meaning of the song..
This song is originally from 1994. This is the first progressive rock song from Bangladesh and the songs that made Warfaze popular. The 2nd version of this song came out in 2009. This is the 2024 version thanks to coke studio. You should react to the previous two versions back-to-back. You'll be able to see how the sound of this band, along with the sound of Bangladeshi rock music has changed over the decades
I am so astonished to see that a man from different country, different culture, different race can feel this much of another. Is this the oneness of us?
The melody, lyrics, and visuals of "Obak Bhalo Basha" by Coke Studio Bangla evoke a sense of healing for souls and hearts through music and love. This timeless duty is passed down from one generation to the next. The presence of two vocalists, sitar players, guitarists, and flutists symbolizes this transition, with each pair representing the elder passing the healing baton to the younger. Set against the serene backdrop of a starry night by the sea in Cox's Bazar, the ambiance evokes an eternal sense of love and healing, where nature and music blend to soothe and uplift. This song is about the existence of oneself, celebrating life, and finding the beauty in every moment. Thank you, Warfaze and Coke Studio Bangla, for this healing effort.
It's a ''love affair'' but not of a romantic kind! Eternity standing still at night, on the endless shore of white sands, with a guitar in hand, listening to the silence of the ocean, the stars shining alone in the vastness of the sky, in love with the joy of existence!
Let me try to explain you the flute vs guitar part you were mentioning at the end. The initial part of the song is sang by Babna, original singer of the song- representing the earlier generation of Warfaze along with Flute, whereas, the latter part of the song is sang by Palash current vocal of the band, along with guitars. The fusion of flute and guitar at the end represents fusion of earlier and newer generation of warfaze on the stage of Coke Stidio Bangla.
"OBAK BHALOBASHA" means "WONDERFUL LOVE".... In this song the writer is full of his pure love with his own existence and tries to celebrate his presence on the seashore with his musical mind keeping all worldly objects and feelings aside ignoring their effect on him...... I am from Bangladesh and this song is of my generation. This lyric tells me how to love myself and you cant control your tears while listening to this song. Love you "WARFAZE'.
So , what does it mean ? It is better than other beaches in services , facilities , clear water? We keep harping this on and on as if it is the greatest beach of the world. It’s so dirty !!
@@Xyz-gf5op irrelevant as the original comment stated the length not these other things. Also try getting out of the touristy spots like laboni and go towards Teknaf. You'll find better naturally preserved parts of the beach there.
Hi Cojak! I loved your reaction, been following you for a long time. Just letting you know, Cox's Bazar is actually the longest sea beach in the world. Keep up the good reactions man❤️
As the saying goes, old is gold. That is, although gold is old, gold remains in place of gold, it never changes. Lots of love to this band. However, I will end my speech with another old Bangla song, that is - "The old days will be forgotten, and the words of the soul in the room will not be forgotten". I feel like I'm getting a burning proof of this now with this same song since the song 'Obak Bhalobasa' (Surprise Love) was released in Coke Studio Bangla Season 3. ❤️ 🇧🇩 ❤️ 🎼 🎵 🎶
Amazing reaction, as always! The love affair here is with an individual with the life - with the mere existence - and with the mere joy of existence. The sea shore and the awake stars represent this vast cosmos where we came to exist, by sheer chance. It is about the love affair between a person's soul and the nature, the ocean, the cosmos and the universe, a love of almost divine nature without the need of deities, I suspect a very little sufi influence of divinity being universal love here but maybe that's just me. Yes, Cox's Bazar is in Bangladesh.
Hi Cojak! This song was more than 32 years old. In memory of his late brother, one of the band members Babna wrote it once he was a student of Bangladesh Engineering University.
This Song is a name of emotion. You're gradually doing better and better reacting bengali songs.... Warfaze ❤ make such soulful music possible......I think you got lost in it while listening to the song..... nice one
the lyrics means, Someone walking alone on the beach with a guitar and looking into the night black sky and wave of ocean which is making the scene of wonderful love he had in daily life also. But the thing is those wonderful loves were oppressed by many things and situations by people, Among these two phrases of wonderful love, alone man wants to choose the charm of night windy beach, because this wonderful love has only peace rather than pain in the ♥.
after death of his own older brother Babna Karim has gone spiritual for quite while, at that time he wrote this song. It's a like a prayer to universe for becoming more still so that he can encounter the pain in his heart.
While listening to the Bengali version of this timeless song by Babna Karim, one may read the English translation of the Bengali lyrics posted by Coke Studio, Bangla: May all the lights dim down to darkness Only, let them stay awake - Those faraway stars.
May all the words quieten to dead silence Only, let this ocean stay. Along with me ... Ahaa Ahaa... Ahaa... May all pains be swept away By a storm of bliss Let my heart be filled with Simple serene dreams. Deep down in my soul, with a startled stare The eternity is standing motionless right here. Ahaa... Ahaa... On the seashore of white sands In the careless breeze, With guitar in my hands. Silence is now shattered into shards Strumming wild, I cry out in amazing passion As if the diamonds, rubies & emeralds, Together, in the heart of the ocean, Weaving sublime patterns with A wonderful love! Timeless Love!
Another new song of our coke studio bangla season 3 is out. The name of the song is "surprise love" a popular music band group of our country, the name is "Warfaze". ❤️ 🇧🇩
If I m not wrong, you didn't listen the original song sung by Babna. You are referring to 2nd version sung by Mizan I guess. The Original had a heavenly Intro music with Guitar...
This song is about the joy of existence. We haven't worked for it yet we got this gift for the Creator. We need to appreciate this amazing life this amazing gift. We are truly blessed
This is the original album ua-cam.com/video/0VKdeZunXG8/v-deo.html by warfaze back in 1994 Vocal was Babna vai, One of the greatest vocal of Warfaze as well. This song gets more amazing on Mizan vai's vocal as well.
Dear Cojak, I remember you also reviewed the original song. The Coke Studio version helped you to get the translated lyric.

The lyrics is about - a person who talks to himself on a sea shore, playing his guitar. Self talk and realisations. So beautiful!
The song is about loving yourself. You do not need to possess so many materials or things to enjoy your life, to be loved and to be appreciated. The nature (say it eternity, ocean etc) always appreciates your existence in this world.
Wow I have been following u quite a long time now Cojak... this is the first time I see you in tears..😮❤😮❤
I love your reactions man, it's always a joy listening to you talk about music.
This song is about "love of existness". How the world give us many gift, love and joy regardlessly.
Such a wonderfull heartfelt reaction❤
Waiting for ur review and here it is. As a foreigner how much u understand our musics & emotions are truly astonishing. Thanks Cojak
5:58 Yeah! We have the world's largest uninterrupted beach in the world. Cox's Bazaar.
Love from bangladesh my brother 🇧🇩❤️
I am so astonished to see that a man from different country, different culture, different race can feel this much of another. Is this the oneness of us?
I am big fan of your review on Coke Studio Bangla. Love from Bangladesh
Cox's Bazar is the longest uninterrupted natural beach in the world. Not in Bangladesh only.
@@Xyz-gf5op it means that? Are u stupid? Lol
@@Xyz-gf5op Have brain? When he said it's best?🙄
Main lyrics in shorts "a man is thanking to The almighty God for his existence infornt of sea shore where he seems whole eternity stopped."
was waiting for your reaction mate :)
❤️ 🇧🇩 ❤️ 🎼 🎵 🎶
it's all about to be thankful for having this life in this beautiful world and celebrate it.
was just waiting for your reaction😍😍😍
Loved your reaction.
Thanks Coke Studio Bangla for recreating this song.
You also bring tears in my eyes.
Just a wonderful love
No explanation no definition
❤
that flute is a timeless melody
Amazing reaction, as always! The love affair here is with an individual with the life - with the mere existence - and with the mere joy of existence. The sea shore and the awake stars represent this vast cosmos where we came to exist, by sheer chance. It is about the love affair between a person's soul and the nature, the ocean, the cosmos and the universe, a love of almost divine nature without the need of deities, I suspect a very little sufi influence of divinity being universal love here but maybe that's just me. Yes, Cox's Bazar is in Bangladesh.
Sufi touch was there in lyrics.
Hi Cojak! This song was more than 32 years old. In memory of his late brother, one of the band members Babna wrote it once he was a student of Bangladesh Engineering University.
That song is called 'Bicchino abeg' not this one. This one Babna wrote while in Cox's Bazar.
Obak bhalobasha is 30 years old released in 5th September 1994 . The song babna karim wrote for his brother is bicchinno abeg not obak bhalobasha
Funny to find out all the made up things about this song - the song about his brother as someone mentioned was “Bichinno Abeg”.
You always got the lyrics that's the best thing buddy❤️
Love from Bangladesh❤️
Dear. Cojak. Thanks for your reaction on Bengali music. I know you don't understand the lyrics but u well connected with the music. Thank you
your reaction AWESOME! like Innocent reaction!! Nice job, thanks
This Song is a name of emotion. You're gradually doing better and better reacting bengali songs.... Warfaze ❤ make such soulful music possible......I think you got lost in it while listening to the song..... nice one
the lyrics means,
Someone walking alone on the beach with a guitar and looking into the night black sky and wave of ocean which is making the scene of wonderful love he had in daily life also.
But the thing is those wonderful loves were oppressed by many things and situations by people,
Among these two phrases of wonderful love, alone man wants to choose the charm of night windy beach, because this wonderful love has only peace rather than pain in the ♥.
after death of his own older brother Babna Karim has gone spiritual for quite while, at that time he wrote this song. It's a like a prayer to universe for becoming more still so that he can encounter the pain in his heart.
You made my day Cojak. I also felt the same as you.
There were 32 of them including Warfaze themselves.
Thanks for reaction ☺️
man you are real; emotions speak

Love from Bangladesh ❤️
While listening to the Bengali version of this timeless song by Babna Karim, one may read the English translation of the Bengali lyrics posted by Coke Studio, Bangla:
May all the lights dim down to darkness
Only, let them stay awake -
Those faraway stars.
May all the words quieten to dead silence
Only, let this ocean stay.
Along with me ... Ahaa
Ahaa...
Ahaa...
May all pains be swept away
By a storm of bliss
Let my heart be filled with
Simple serene dreams.
Deep down in my soul, with a startled stare
The eternity is standing motionless right here.
Ahaa...
Ahaa...
On the seashore of white sands
In the careless breeze,
With guitar in my hands.
Silence is now shattered into shards
Strumming wild,
I cry out in amazing passion
As if the diamonds, rubies & emeralds,
Together, in the heart of the ocean,
Weaving sublime patterns with
A wonderful love!
Timeless Love!
Many bands will come and go but Warfaze will be forever ❤
