- The sister of Lucy Stephenson, the wife of the house, was invited to a ball. She has agreed to take her nieces along. For this special occasion she has hired the renowned French hairdresser Madame Du Hare who is currently traveling through the U.S.

Thank you everyone for your kindness & patience.
The maid is my favorite. She looks done with everyone's attitude but is so sweet haha. Her facial expressions are the best
She is . And is it kinda odd that I like the maid's outfit and hair better than the outfits and hair of the actual people going to the ball ? Like that puffy sleeved bright blue dress is something I can see myself wearing on a day out , along with the simple low bun . The oldest noblewoman's gown looks like my gran's nightgown and the middle girl's shawl and dress combo reminds me of when I was a kid and played dress up in my mum's old dresses .
Yeah she look beautiful
@@jules2291 that's what i thought
Cinderella!
@@jules2291 yes, the maid looks the best, from ladies only the youngest one looks acceptable, but definitely the maid looks best of them all.
As a writer, this is going to help me a lot
I love that and I wish you luck with your writings!

That's not just a maid! That's Justine! This whole Chanel is thanks to her!
Yes, but she is playing the maid.
This is like a sketch so in this moment she isn't Justine
I'm so glad the girls also got their hair done. They all looked ravishing.

I can help!
It can mean delightful, beautiful, exquisite, entrancing, charming, or lovely. =)
I love how the background looks so realistic like a real family in the 18th century
I assume you mean the 19th century (1801-1900)? It that says this is supposed to be 1820.
@@candygirl77777, the 19th century is 1800 to 1899. 1900 is apart of the 20th century.
@@CaptinHoot51 Not wanting to be pedantic but I think you meant "1900 is a part of the 20th century", because "be apart" means exactly the opposite of what you want to say as it means "be separate from" :p. How just one space between two letters can change so radically the meaning of a sentence!
True.
@@CaptinHoot51 no that’s not how it works. Think of it this way... the first century was year 1 to 100. There was no year 0. Therefore the 19th century includes 1900. It’s weird but it’s technically correct. Google it, I promise.
Looks like some Little Women working hard to give us a living view of history....how fun! Bravo ladies!
I am probably one of the few who liked the inclusion of Madame Du Hare. If she were real, I would have hated her but this fictional person is so fun to watch. The actress was so full of pomp and snotty pride. It was hilarious. Please tell the lady that I thought she did a wonderful job. I also like the slight indistinct eye roll from the maid. I would have done the same. The lady of the house with her soft pink and ribbon in her hair looked so feminine and pretty.
Yes but she wouldn't have been well pleased with that hair do!.
The curl on the left hand side is decidedly thicker than on right. She would have demanded it be equal on both sides otherwise she would have been the talk of the ball / party for the wrong reasons.
@@amsodoneworkingnow1978 that has nothing to do with the point I was trying to make, but ok.
This was adorable and interesting to watch, and Madam Du Hair was a riot! Her expressions had me chuckling through the scenes.
I love that this was done as a kind of silent movie. It just adds something.
The way Madame du Hare holds herself is ✨iconic ✨
Somehow this video popped up on my feed and this is so fantastic! (Also the hairdresser and her eccentric nature is hilarious) I have been watching your other videos and once COVID is in the rearview I absolutely plan on visiting the estate because it looks so fascinating. You have definitely interested this Texan to make the journey 😃
The snooty hairdresser was a great touch to add - helped the wholesome spunk of the maid stand out xD
I love that pink dress and all the undergarments. What a fun time preparing for the ball! The hairdos were adorable especially with the combs and ribbons. Bravo!
Three young ladies, all elegantly adorned for the ball. May they woo more than a few eligible young bachelors into standing up and dancing with them. Our dear young maid misses out this time, but she will have her day and it will be a very fine day indeed! Bless you all.
so cool all of the props and the costums
They are ALL BEAUTIFUL TEENS, Perfect for the Ball, but the youngest ONE that BOWS at the very END is the "CUTEST.'
Awww thanks!😘 (that's me)
@@sistertaleshs3076 really!?
Yes
@@sistertaleshs3076 that must've been fun!
The best one yet! Well done!
This is too cute…and so educational. Thank you.
Iam so happy to see a bigger body type. Beautiful Ladys.
I’m obsessed with your content! I live on the east coast (new England) and we frequent the Newport Mansions in Newport Rhode Island. My favorite since I was a kid (and if you’ve been or look it up you can see why!) is The Breakers. Built and owned by the Vanderbilt’s in the late 1800’s…that’s what I think of while watching. They were obviously very wealthy but there must be similarities! There are MANY homes in my area also that are from as far back as 1600’s, and I’ve always been fascinated by thinking what it was like when those homes were new. This is perfect for those daydreams! Thank you!
My inner child half expected Buggy Bunny in a dress when I read "Madame du Hare"! 😂😂 That said, Madame seemed to enjoy using her tools and skills. What a lovely pampering experience that would have been!
Dear you should also do in future how early centuries kids study 📚
great idea thank you!
Another well made video! I like the simple hairstyles you made.
Thank you Jeanne
This is amazing! You can really see the fun you had an the effort that went into it😊 Greetings from Germany
A very entertaining and charming video. The outfits and clothes are beautiful. The women and young girls are graceful. Perfect harmony. I love watching your channel. So soothing. It cheers me up.
Ma’dame du Hare😂🤣Nice touch.
Seeing that people used actual irons set in coals back then to set curls makes me super happy we have the appliances we have now. Like that actually sounds intense lol.
Some Black salons still use modern curling and waving tongs, heated in small stoves. This is because Black women's thick hair is more resistant.
Gorgeously done, sweet and well presented. Awesome history!
Everyone looks like they are having fun 😊
That was very relaxing. The music was perfect.
Madame Du Hare is such a mood 😂😂
I adore regency /federalist era fashion. Nicely done, ladies. Performed very well and looking beautiful.
Very interesting thankyou for working hard to give us a view of early ball party's😊
I love this!! 😊 It's so sweet and it just makes me smile to see everyone act their part. ❤❤
The dresses looked very comfortable, especially for a summer event.
How entertaining! Great job!
Love these videos! I can’t stop watching!!
Justine, I can't get enough of you! Ty for this one! Giggling as always.... "Madame Du Hare" 😂 😭 🤣
Oooh Regency! Those dresses were so cute!
madame Du Hare!! I love it!!
Your video was in my suggested videos and as I'm very interested in historical fashion and reenactment, and that 1820 falls within my favourite period, I clicked without hesitation! :) I enjoyed the slow pace of the video which gave us the time to look at the details and I also have to compliment you on the quality of the costumes and the beauty of the house! I do miss one detail: gloves! I think that they certainly would have been present at that time, especially to go to a ball ;). Oh and a bonnet and maybe a coat to leave the house :). But apart from that, well done on the video!
Justine, you were a hoot in this video! Loved it!
These videos are so cool!! ❤️
Ah yes, the famous hairstylist, Madame Du Hare :D
Obviously, Madame just arrived fresh off the boat from France, as she was neither particular to the novel idea of 'egalité et fraternité' nor to a tête-à-tête with Monsieur Guillotin ... 😂
Closest I came to getting dressed for a ball was when me and my friends dressed up in costumes for the renaissance faire…we had fun and giggled like crazy……the maid was ready to sock Madame fancy knickers at the door😂
That's very amazing!! It's like living in the Regency Era.
What a delightful channel!
Cool outfits and hair!
The acting is fantastic! The realism is so period correct with the hairstyles and clothing. The children are so well mannered and behaved. Im not that old but we behaved like that, as the old saying went, “you should be seen and not heard” said our parents to us. In the 1800’s, people really knew the meaning of love, honor, duty, and respect. Unlike the present times. The Amish still maintain most of these traditions. I grew up a mennonite and the Amish were all in our community. Thanks for making these videos. Well done! People wonder why times have changed so much? Most people today are absent of faith and love of God, have no sense of duty, worship only material things and themselves.
Those little girls are so pleased to take part in this. It makes me feel like their past life was literally in the 1800's. It seems like no big deal to them.
Beautiful video!
the hair dresser!!!! 😂 - love this channel. thank you so much!
Beautiful !
OMG! I am only into about a third of this video and I am in hysterics!!!!!
This one is my favourit video. Please make more videos like this with storyline.
It's always nice when females get together and do hair.
Cool outfits and hair.
This is charming and I love the look on the maid's face. Hee-hee.
I'm curious to know how much one hair dressing would have cost. I'm thinking too much as the other girls' hair-do's looked just as pretty as Madame Du Hare's dressing. For some strange reason, my mind has wandered into how long it would have taken ladies to prepare for a ball. I'm assuming weeks because they had to post letters to Madame Du Hare to set an appointment, purchase and receive or sew their dresses...I've literally jumped into a hare hole. LOL Justine, thank you for this wonderful channel. I'm absolutely fascinated with it.
Que lindo!! Ela vivem assim mesmo? Amo esse estilo de vida
You guys are adorable.
Well if someone can style hair that well as she did (it's so beautiful, I envy the girls!), you need no more hairdresser XD
Lol, I loved it!
I tell myself to get dressed in some sort of dress the next day I wake up, but I can spend the whole day lounging in PJs. Slack.
Going to the bathroom must be one hell of an experience in this era across Europe and North America
I love this channel
The last girl .... i love her dress
NIce video. Thank you.
All 3 of you pretty 💕💕🌹🌹
I love help my mother with her dresses. Even my hair...sometimes.

but would love to see tgat balloon type dresses..which we hv seen in old movies or fairy tales.
waiting for that.
😍😍
Those are victorian period dresses that you are describing. The 1820s is the period in time right before. The dresses weren't so poofy ^_^
the maid she's look like Snow white!
That is my favorite Disney princess :O thank you!
I have always wanted to live like the 18th century and I love watching you guys!

@@kvasquez7285 I always go to antique stores and get some stuff and we have a cabin in our backyard that I quote on quote pretend in, lol
I think it’s the 19th century 😊 if you’re talking about the 1800s
@@orbitalpaca7710 oh yeah, your probably right, but still...I just feel doing it inside out modern day homes, its so diffiult to actually experience it
You mean 19th century, right? The 1800s.. Also what part of 18th century you wanna live in? First half or the second? Cuz during second half of 19th century lot of things were already invented. Like photography invented 1830s but became quite popular later in 1860 and 1870. So was with telegraph, invented in 1835. Became popular in 1850s. Telephone invented in 1880s. Cars invented in 1880s. Electricity in 1880s.
Hence, which part of 19th century you wanna live in? First half, i assume?
That was cuteee!
Это прекрасно!
Очень артистично.
Женщина которая делала прическу, выше всяких похвал!
Гоар Аветисян 19 века😁
great history going way back
Love the hairdresser’s last name...”Du Hare”! 😁
Pretty ladies
The hair dresser is so funny and cute😄😄😄😄
i actually expected the dresses to be more grand 😭😭
your dresses are so ever beautiful and like the colors
This is how the rich ladies got dressed for a ball back then. I doubt the normal people got dressed up like this, like in the little villages/colonies and stuff. It's cool to see how the rich ladies did it though. I wonder how the poor ladies dressed also.
@@EarlyAmerican oh okay ^u^ that's cool. I also saw the working class peasant girl video. You have a really interesting channel. I like these videos
I love these vidos
So beautiful!
And now I REALLY miss ball season (thanks covid). Lovely video though
Or should I say all 4 or 5 of you how many lovely ladies are you ?💕💕💕💕🌹🌹
Madame Du Hare. That cracked me up.
You would never catch anyone just blankly watching someone else dress anymore because we’re all too distracted lol
I wanna make that stays bras thing. It looks comfortable.
Yes the back fastening now with hooks and eyes has remained on the modern bra but the old fashioned stays still had a gentle allure. There was a great debate about what kept this period bust in order when they adapted Pride and Prejudice for TV. People really fell out if that's the operative word about whether the girls wore.stays or if something like a bra was around long before Mary Phelps Jacob. Its a very heated debate in certain quarters because some people think they can see brassieres in prototype on Roman mosaics from long long ago. But in answer to that there are certain stained glass windows showing a bicycle and others say that batteries have been discovered in the Pyramids. One could go on forever but to end on a happy note I liked this video a lot and appreciate all the grace of seeing one laced in such fashion. Watch the newest version of The Thirty Nine Steps to reinforce the idea that stays are as provocative a sight as a lady undoes as anything Berlei or Playtex sells her.
They are
Tsas is really good Loveeeeeeeeee
Helps us when reading books to imagine what’s going on
The paper curling technique returned in the 1920s, as a "new" technique.
In the 1990s, the technique returned, but with electric "C-shell clamps" instead of papers & tongs. Again, it was promoted as a "new" technique. This time, it was called "butterfly curls".
"Madame du Hare" 🤣
Muy original y entretenido este canal. Es como regresar al tiempo de Simon Bolivar, 1820. Me gustaría ver las actividades religiosas.
