What a performance from Tiafoe!! I’m a huge Rafa fan and was disappointed, but I gotta give it to Tiafoe. Incredible!
Same here, it broke my heart, but during the third set I was pretty sure Rafa would not make it this time, no matter how hard he fought, because Tiafoe was simply succeeding in almost everything he did. His winners to UE's ratio was outstanding. Playing like this, he could probably beat anyone.
Very simple Nadass was harassed by the real Bull.🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
, I was still a Rafa fan when he lost . This Tiafoe has me screaming . Great tennis.
Rafa nadal its waiting a babe and the wife its in the hospital , but no worries its caming other spanish bull, carlitos alcaraz
Tiafoe played some of the best tennis I've ever seen from him. Definitely was the better player this match. Just goes to show what it takes to beat the best even on an off day.
I know, Patrick Moratoglu done a great 2 minute video on how Francis won. Its a must watch
Congrats, Tiafoe. I lost respect for Nadal since he faked injuries & claimed his foot broke when he played against Del Potro.
why ? cause he beat Nadal ?
Nadal was on, it's just TFO was the better player. P e r i o d
@@sciencekid7565 faked his injury?? He’s had a foot problem his entire career. Stop talking s***….
Frances Tiafoe Jr. was born in Maryland on January 20, 1998. The Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) has ranked Tiafoe as high as no. 24 in singles, on August 8, 2022. He is the son of Sierra Leonean immigrants.
No American man has won a Slam singles title since Andy Roddick won the 2003 U.S. Open. Tiafoe is carrying the flag here, an American dream in tennis shoes.
If I remember correctly his father used to clean tennis courts and this is what spurred his son Francis interest in the sport. A great success story for the family, and its only just starting!
@VlLJL in America "WE" just say, He's BLACK.
That would be such an American dream story. First generation son of immigrants, to winning the US open
Ooooooookay
@@bmizzle1074please is he black or Indian?
This is a great opportunity for Tiafoe to go all the way to the finals and to eventually win the US Open Championship for the year 2022.
Go Tiafoe!
It is but there are still several monsters left in the draw. Ruud, Kyrgios and Alcaraz. Mabye Sinner too
@@kakashihatake1029 True…
@@kakashihatake1029 Nick is out.. and Sinner plays Alcatraz so this 100% opens the draw up more for Tiafoe favor . 🔥
@@kakashihatake1029 Rublev
Haha he just can’t 😁
Everytime Rafa tried to push himself harder Frances was pushing himself more harder than before, and the power on his forehand winners was amazing to witness
*Every time *pushing himself harder
Tiafoe's background story on how he came to have access to a tennis court and coaches shows the importance of mere exposure. How many more champions might we see in various endeavors if societies gave equal opportunity for exposure; not equality of outcome. but equality of access/exposure.
Thank you! Thank you for differentiating equity and equality. It's the latter that deserves ANY and ALL encouragement.
Too many talented people are priced out of tennis
spiderman no way home< weird that Nadal lost to this guy?
That’s right
The black athlete is a superior athlete.
Tiafoe played so well. Such a great personality and athlete!
I'm a huge Rafa fan, but as an American, I couldn't help but be hyped when Tiafoe took that first set.
Lol same love Rafa but it would be awesome seeing a fellow American win his first grand slam in the homeland
u should be ashamed as an american that an american stole rafa throphy
@@patrickdoherty1118 He is the american dream. Parents coming from Africa, working hard as janitor and nurse, and their son becoming a great tennis player and earning millions. I like that guy. Rafa is from my homeland, but we have to accept the path of life. Time never stops.
If you are a huge Rafa fan, then obviously you are not much of a tennis literate, because Rafa has not much varaety, and he works like a mule and a ball-dog......fetch it.
What a quality match from Tiafoe. Nicest guy on tour. He deserves the win
he is a racist idiot, nicest guy on tour really
He deserves to win it all. Imo
@@pawshands9706 USA! USA!
Nicest ? May be darkest
@@Life_of_Matthew ruud??!
the amount of aces from Tiafoe was crazy!!
Numbers of aces, not amount.
@@sciencekid7565 Shouldn't it be "number of aces," not "numbers of aces"? There is only ONE figure which quantifies how many aces were hit by Tiafoe during the match; there aren't two or more figures quantifying this (the one figure is "18"). So one should say, "The total number of aces from Tiafoe in this match was 18." "Numbers of aces" sounds completely wrong in any context, and I'm a native English speaker.
I shouldn't have said, "in any context." "Numbers of aces" would be correctly used here, for example: "The numbers of aces hit by Tiafoe and Nadal were 18 and 10, respectively." Being that I'm using TWO figures/numbers in the sentence, the word "number" would be pluralized.
Yall are being pedantic
@@sciencekid7565 oh shut up, actually i like 'the amount' better.
Very strategic with power and finesse...great job Tiafoe!
Taifoe has something new in his game: FOCUSED. Before he used to seem a lot distracted. Keep this up, Big Foe.
I always see him as a dangerous power hitter, but could not really win a slam. It's focus
Add in STAMINA derived from genuine physical prep which, altogether, spells CONFIDENCE!.
*...game: FOCUS. He always seemed so distracted before.
Tiafoe basically just pulled a Fed AO17 here. Down 3-1 and won 5 games straight to win the match.
So impressive!!! Congratulations Tiafoe!
Go Francis ! Totally capable of going all the way: most consistent, courageous shots, blistering 2nd serves. You have it all 😵😵😵 GO USA TENNIS 🇺🇸
Thank you US Open for doing extended highlights. You are ensuring that the game of tennis remains as an interest for fans. Also it will bring in new interest and fans.
Great use of change of pace in rallies to keep Nadal from teeing off. Bravo!
Tiafoe has such devastating power. It's ridiculous!
Yep !!
Frances not only defeated RN but he got a 5-0 in 4th set, as he was 1-3 down and 15-40
🎾🎖️👏🏼👏🏼🎖️🎾
wow didn't know tiafoe could fire rocket serves like that. not quite roddick but 138 ain't too shabby.
Tiafoe outplayed Nadal with finesse.
A Beautiful Game! Maybe, I will start watching Tennis, Again! Thank you, Tiafoe.
Love Rafa but Tiafoe was the better player here today. The energy and the risks were all there and it paid off.
Congrats 🤙
Dude’s forehand is on fire.
Tiafoe played so well beating the no# one player in tennis 🎾 history must be Epic congratulations Tiafoe🥰👍🏼
It’s a real joy to see Frances and CoCo not only as great tennis players but also as amazing role models for young black kids everywhere….
Serena this is how you do it…
Thanks from a Nole fan ;)
Tiafoe is calm, strong, strategic and tenacious. - He is the future of Tennis.. he's only 22 mind you. He will get better with maturity.
He’s 24
Excellent job Tiafoe!!! 👏👏👏 U deserve it bro! Congrats from Trinidad!
I will watch this match again for it's historic value. Tiafoe not only defeated the game's clay master, he did it in dramatic style and in front of the U.S. crowd. This is one North American that has the world looking at him now. Frances was daring and smart. Nadal should have no excuses, but he always comes up with something. Smh...
I think Nadal is a decent human being, always gracious in defeat.
Oh but not 2day 😕
Tiafoe plays with a sort of soulfulness it’s like watching your dad on the grill.
What a thoughtful statement!
Tiafoe has an awesome play.
Tiafoe is fun like Gael Monfils. Can't wait to see him get to a final.
GOAT on the menu boys. The "Young King" is feasting. 😂
Nadal was never goat, if i understand you correctly.
😆
It'll be a sad day for tennis when Rafa retires, but congratulations to Tiafoe
Rafa's already retired, apart from clay.
@@pauljohnson6019 Most Players on the tour playing full time tennis will never reach a Slam final.
@@pauljohnson6019 australian open champion,hater
@@noventaycinc0 Thank you, that's what they do hate!!
@@pauljohnson6019 This is the take from a nutty Djokovic fan who is so jealous of Nadal, they can't even form cogent thoughts.
Nadal in a state of shock!
Not really. He knew he is a fake goat just like Serena.
Pretty much yes
Thank you, US Open, for giving us what we've all wanted from grand slams.. extend highlights 😍
*extended
I remember Tiafoe playing Novak at the Australian open last year and it was a very, very competitive match that could have gone either way. I suspected Tiafoe was the real deal, but one match doesn’t mean anything... even though Rafa was not at his best for this match, I am now convinced that Tiafoe is a genuine top 10 player… I would love to see him win it all.
I honestly don’t usually watch the mens highlights, but this was a must watch for me.
are you saying you usually watch womens highlights ? lol
@Howling Fox Sports mens are just usually more entertaining imo
@Howling Fox Sports There is, yes, a big one. Not the same sport. ☕ ☕ ☕ ☕ ☕ ☕ ☕ ☕
@Howling Fox Sports he's saying that the men are so much better it's not the same sport. I'll disagree in that it's the same sport but yeah, the men are far better and it makes the women's matches not as entertaining. But out of all the sports, tennis is probably the most tolerable women's sport to watch. Things like basketball though, you'd have to pay me to watch women's basketball, haha.
Rafa seemed like a bit of a sore loser at the end.
Did anyone bet on Tiafoe? I won a few quid, i just thought Nadal is coming to the end of his career and if ever Francis could beat him it would be now, and i was right!!
My bet was on Nadal losing the first set coz he does it alot with these grand slams
I don't think Nadal is any where near the end of his career. Don't forget that he's won half of the grand slams this year.
Will Nadal ( and his fans) EVER admit defeat?
Foot injury, stomach muscle, rib injury, shoulder injury (this is only this 2022 year),
than not games enough and now Spanish experts say he was not focused because of his wife......ENOUGH!!!
Djokovic won Wimbledon without any games and under enormous pressure. Shut Up
don't you know? Nadal never lost a match in his life when he wasn't injured. He is unbeatable when he is healthy. We see it every times Nadal plays Djokovic on hard courts since 2013. You can see how much better he is. Djokovic can't even win a set on this surface since 2013. Oh wait...
Respect Tiafoe- from a Djokovic and Roger fan
@Howling Fox Sports don't use the word "salty" if you're trying to not offend someone
@Howling Fox Sports - IMO, greatest tennis player should either be Federer or Djokovic because they two are the real all court players. Specially Djokovic tops in that department. Nadal is the best clay court player ever without a doubt. Djokovic’s won all 14 top tier tournaments- he’s the only one to do so.
@@kakashihatake1029 - I don’t expect the respect from cheap people so let him be like that 🤪
Very high success rate on big and risky shots for Frances today. Its unstainable over many matches but it worked today. Congrats.
Incredible performance
Tiafoe played this match like he's Djokovic or Federer, enourmous mental strength and completely destroying Nadal in the end. Scary performance
One of the greatest returns of the year 24:06
I can't believe they replayed almost every other point 5 times, but that one doesn't get a replay.

I'm rooting for you Tiafoe
keep your nose clean
work hard
think Arthur Ashe
become a legend
I dare Rafa to not win the US open 2022.
(kudos to Tiafoe for playing the far superior game at this occasion)
Tiafoe learnt from last mistake, in 2019, where he folded like a text, Tiafoe has sent Rafa into retirement, apart from clay.
taking a shot at that rafagoat idiot right? nowhere to be seen now.
@@pauljohnson6019 Wishful thinking from a nutty Djokovic fan.

24:08
That was not a shot it was a real MISSILE
Impressive the power that Tiafoe has on his right
Excellent job!
how does Tiafoe get power like that on his 1st serve with no coil....amazing
Go, Francis!! 💪🏼👊🏼
It’s a lot harder to do it when you are dealing with athleticism and quickness than the subtleties of acting, but there’s enough footage of Nadal to make it better.
Tiafoe got super slice weapon, he will go to Semifinals! I am 100% sure!
That's how you should play when facing nadal
Everyone loves Frances…go go 🔥
US tennis has a bright future
Man, Tiafoe sure whips that forehand.
Hopefully, Big Frank can build on this and become a consistent grand slam threat.
He played so well I took him & kyrigos to win cmon lads need the payday! Great 🎾 played a great net game very Federer playbook..that snap wrist forehand 💨
And this makes the end of the Big 3 definitely.
The fact that Nadal lead 3-1 in the 4th set then lost 5 games in a row really remind me of the match vs Djokovic in RG last year (2-0 then lost 6 games) and vs Federer in Aus Open 2017 (3-1 in the final set then lost 5 games). Last 2 games cannot even play properly, just trying to hit the ball back. Really sad if it's his last ever match in US Open. Hope he can come back here at least 1 more time.
you gotta be kidding me rafa only loses when he is hurt?!
Just evolving like Serena, RETIRE!!!
YOUVE' DONE IT.
Congestion’s Frances Tiafoe job well done😍👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽❤️💕💪🏽🎾🎾🎾🍾
Cant believe Rafa did not win this slam ...this defeat came out of nowhere surprisingly shocked everyone
But credit goes to Tiafoe the superpower
Nadalhas still go a lot of fuel in his tank. I hope when he retires he considers coaching; he would be a great one. Tifoe played great. He should try not to give away those crucial points. Well done Tiafoe.
He might considers carrier in gold OR he will do a full time job of being a father.
That serve at the end of the second set was on the line.
Love it! My love for tennis coming back
*is coming back
Amazing play by tisfoe he was at big 3 level in this match where small unforceded error from Nadal became also decisive for the match
tennis is mental when ur in that higher etheral zone your invincible it's called out of body consciousness
So are we not going to talk about the fan reaction at 24:14.?
I do that at every Seattle Mariners game 🤣
Tennis is electric right now!
Tiafoe 1st serve - 130mph
Tiafoe 2nd serve - 85mph
Why Rafa never attacked that second serve baffles me 0_o
3:29 the ball escaped into a netherportal
Bravo Tiafoe 👍
Whoa was that a serve? The power is from the leg- hip rotation and follow through.
Quite a performance and entertaining to watch.
ty for video
It's your time now Francis so go and win it all .
🇪🇸 GOATdal (Nadal) & 🇨🇭GOATderer (Federer) is still 100% undisputed champion of tennis & FEDAL 💎 forever!!! Cheers!!! 👑💪🐐
They both got a losing record H2H against Supernovak Goatovic.🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Tiafoe was just on fire 😂
At the end of the win the commetor say FEEL IT BOY! ....I mean KID! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
great win. congrats!
Love when he does the Salt Bae
Tiafoe you are great!!! What you did will go down in history. I dislike Nadal very VERY much and I am glad you beat him. Thanks to this, Nadal will not win the 23rd Slam and Novak will be able to overtake him next year.
American tennis making a comeback? 🇺🇸
Tiafoe reminds me of Agassi but with more power.....when he takes the ball early inside the baseline, it's a wrapp.
It is a Shame Nole couldn't defend points for Wimbledon. It is also remarkable to he is still no 7 in the World despite dropping all those points, more than 6000.00 points. He would have been 1 or 2 in the world if he was allowed to defend Australia, defend points for Wimbledon and defend points for US Open.
Go Frances ❤❤
Love the point at 18:20
Big L for Rafa and Rafa Undisputed Goat
Let's not forget Rafa is 35, Tiafoe 24, sometimes in the game it feels it when the physique is at his limits. Great match, I think Frances will win US Open if he mantains this level
Rafa is 36
Rafa was not even at his 60%. Tiafoe has a long way to go. He did well profiting from a weak version of the GOAT, though. Not everbody can do that.
Lol
Love to see it !
Fantastic 💯👑💪❤
Go all the way FT.
