- This recording is from a concert in the year 1964 held at the music class of the late Pandit Suresh Haladankar. It is the only concert that was recorded where Dr Arun Dravid provided vocal accompaniment to Kishoritai. And This is the first and the oldest live concert recording made in Kishoritai's career. The recording is made available by courtesy of Dr Arun Dravid, Kishoriji's senior-most disciple, from his vast collection of her original live recordings from concerts before 1990. These recordings had the distinct stamp of Jaipur Gharana, yet enriched with her skilled beautification in her quest for Bhava. As a result, these reflect her refreshingly youthful voice, vibrancy, and musical content not always found in her later concerts.

I have been deeply pained by a comment from puremusic 1980 (which, and replies to it, have now been deleted) that has lashed at me with deeply hurtful and hateful language with regard to these uploads. I have discussed this comment with Kishoritai’s son Mr. Bibhas Amonkar who has nothing but gratitude to me for preserving and digitising his mother’s music during all these years. Bibhas is also pained at the puremusic 1980 comment, but supports the project of making her music available to music-lovers at large. However, to avoid such painful acrimony in the future from people like puremusic 1980 who, without disclosing their identity, may use many means to discredit, intimidate and harm me, I have decided to stop uploading on UA-cam Kishoritai’s best music particularly from her younger years. Instead, I will work closely with Bibhas to upload it on a website that will be owned by the Amonkar Family Trust which is in the process of being registered with the authorities. So please wait patiently for a few months till I publish the rest of the treasure on that Trust website. This way, I will not have to face offensive comments from hateful people ever again. Bibhas has agreed that the 15 uploads released by me through the Sangeetveda1 channel recently need not be taken down. I am most thankful to all those who have given fitting replies to puremusic 1980 in my support.

I must narrate a touching anecdote pertaining to this concert of 1964. The evening before the concert, Kishoritai suffered a small personal tragedy. I will not go into the personal details here. But, as a result, she became so distraught and cried so profusely, that I spent hours consoling her and making her compose herself. She told me next morning before the concert that she did not sleep all night. Please hear for yourself the grit and energy she had to gather to sing a full three hour concert of which this is the second Raag. The young man behind her on the Tanpura accompanying her is "Yours Truly". This was the very first concert in her life that was recorded. And also the only one in which my accompanying voice is recorded, even though in all other concerts prior to 1966, I sang behind her, but none of them were recorded!

@@kartikgajbe7827 The reason why it devastated her so much was that the bag contained the most revered locket containing blessed "choorna" given to her by her Guru Raghavendra Swamiji. To her it was more precious than her life! Loss of other things did not matter at all! She was a totally surrendered devotee of Shri Raghavendra Swamiji.

Kishoritai’s music takes listeners to a different, supreme state which can not be described. Jaipur Atrauli Gharana hasn’t produced such supreme artist & not likely to produce any one who can match her music. Thank you Arun.
