About Artists:
Dr. Ashwini Bhide-Deshpande:
Ashwini Tai belongs to the Jaipur-Atrauli gharana tradition. Ashwini Bhide-Deshpande was born in Mumbai on 7th October, 1960, into a family of music connoisseurs and musicians. She completed her Sangeet Visharad from the Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya. Being a scholar, Ashwinitai also obtained a PhD in Biochemistry from the reputed Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai.
Ashwinitai‘s journey into classical music began under the tutelage of Narayanrao Datar, who belonged to the Paluskar branch of the Gwalior gharana. Later, her disciplined taleem under her mother, Manik Bhide (who herself was trained under the legendary Kishori Amonkar) was largely made up of learning the traditional aspects of the Jaipur-Atrauli style of raga development and also studying the nuances of raga-music. She then went on to train under Ratnakar Pai, a renowned teacher of the gharana, from whom she received further guidance and a great repertoire of the traditional paramparik compositions and ragas. Because of her influences from the Jaipur-Atrauli, Mewati and Patiala gharanas, she has created her own musical style. She holds a strong command over the three primary saptaks.

this is my first comment literally after decade or two of listening to youtube. i usually dont comment but this was something really extra ordinary that i really didnt have a choice. ashwini tai, you rocked this one. a slow paced rendition, so gently beautifully structured, elaborated and presented, and it gets better after each listen, i cannot tell you enough how much it effects me in a positive way. it soothes, it cradles, it hugs, it calms, it takes you to worlds beyond, no barriers really to depths and heights of emotions of feelings, divine and expanse, the vibrations are incredible, and Nishad is a perfect accompanist with his voice. rag kukubh bilawal rocks but tai you and your team aced it with this performance, this is a masterpiece. kudos to you and the team.

Ashwini tai's voice is like honey and necter. whatever she sings sounds so beautiful
The male vocal support and the female vocal support for ashwini tai did a wonderful job as well. The male, vocal support, in particular, (I think his name is Nishad) really has a beautiful voice. He has a really soft voice. His voice is really suited for hindustani shastriya sangeet. He knows how to handle alaaps, bol alaaps, taans, etc.. gracefully and with no roughness.

I just love ashwinitai's style over all. Not only her singing, but her personality too. She is a very simple concert artist. I always see her in her youtube recitals wearing a simple sari and very minimal jewelry also.

Excellent raag kukubh bilaval by Ashwini tai.
In the Vilambit bandish I think she concentrated singing and improvising more on the sthayi and didn't sing the anthara although I do see the whole Vilambit bandish lyrics given here in devanagari script and ashw tai has fully sung the other 2 beautiful bandishes
