Definitely one of the upgrades I plan to do since I am a dig guy myself. As well as the back spring. 👍

This is the same set I installed in my 09 klr back in 2012 . I am finally paring them up with the adjustable preload caps . Will be nice to see if the help . Would be nice to loosen the bike up just a little for off road then make it do it's thing on road .

Yes they are! Bang for buck, one of the best upgrades out there for the KLR! 👍

Like a game at the fair had me laughing out loud. I ride a 2017 KLR.

Came for the torque setting. Looks like you got it off your phone. What is the resource? My Clymer Manual is currently a few hundred miles from me and my klr.

Follow the link below to grab the service manual. Page 13-2 and 13-3 reference the "Front Fork Top Plugs" at 22 ft-lb.

    How does it ride now?

    • @RobRidesCarolina

Still rides great! A whole lot less dive under braking and handles terrain soo much better.

Well now...you made that look pretty easy!.....I kinda hate you right now because I am looking at suspension upgrades....lol!

Yeah, easy peasy.. especially if you don't change the Fork Oil. I'm a slacker, but figured it wasn't necessary at 4k. It seems a little tighter at the top, but quite a bit of difference is noticed as they compress, it's definitely more "progressive" unlike the stockers that seem to just keep compressing without getting much tighter. I recommend a Top Gun Rear Spring also, just not the stiffest one. I got the 9.3kg/mm(stiffest), cause I'm a big boy. But it's really stiff.. haven't tested much off-road yet.

Yes, the springs on this bike are definitely too soft from the factory. They dive too much under braking and bounce all around. In order to make them feel like they should have from the factory, the most economical option is to add the Progressive front springs, per the installation process in this video, and I would also recommend upgrading the Rear Spring with one from topgunmotorcycles.com
For your weight I would probably choose the 7.4kg Spring. You can send in your whole shock and they will replace the Spring, or have the Spring shipped to you and take it to a shop. Either is easier than trying to compress the spring yourself. There are extremely expensive suspension upgrades like Cogent, but the way I've recommended above has satisfied me, especially my wallet.

Sure, no problem. For the rear, it would be a toss up between the 7.4kg and the 8.0 kg spring. The 8.0 might be the better option if you often ride with any other added weight or bags. I got the 9.3kg and I like it on the lowest setting.. I think the 8.0kg should do nicely for you. Ask TopGun what they think, when you order it, if you have any doubts.

You gonna do the rear too?

Thanks for Watching. I did the Top Gun Rear Spring upgrade. I couldn't be happier because it was a huge improvement for the money. Spring weight is based on Rider weight and desired stiffness. Give these guys a call if you have questions. If you just want the best, and don't mind spending quite a bit of money, I would recommend Cogent Dynamics, like the setup Mason's ADV uses.
