- The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is here, and and finally offers a realistic Android tablet alternative to the iPad. This is my review of the Tab S6 Lite. It has a lot of good things going for it, including the S Pen Stylus, all for $349, and it's running the latest version of Samsun'g OneUI 2.1.

This was my best purchase... Long time didn't own anything from Samsung but I'm really impressed with the quality
Glad you're enjoying it!
The pen snapps onto the body really really firm only one way. Hold the tab in portrait format, so the front camera is in the top bezel. Now hold the pen with the tip pointing upwards, and try to stick it to the right hand side of the tab towards the bottom half, SNAP! Its so snug it'll not fall off when if you shake it hard
Rare to find a basic iPad for $250. I purchased my S6 Lite for $250 on sale. Apple pencil is $100, so if you found both tablets at their lowest sale prices, the S6 Lite would still save you $100. I chose the S6 Lite partly due to price, and partly because of the iPad's non-laminated screen. The clacky noise when writing was a no-go at my very quiet, wonderful university library. Also iPad's 32gb memory for $329 vs the S-lite 64-plus... The S-lite is a great little tablet ultimately far more for the money than the iPad. Granted, I use mine most of all for web research, studying, and extensive notetaking. Never played a game on it; youtube vids and movies go great. I prefer not to pay the premium for Amoled and don't need all the high-end features. S6 Lite is perfect for me, especially at $250.
Finally updated my phone from s4 mini to s a50, now it's time to update my tab s to a s6 lite, after 6years my old phone and tablet still work fine but it's time for new devices, have been totally happy with samsung android products, use them both for photos, video ,editing for my tube channel.😀
Oh nice. Congratulations. I hope you enjoy them
Not gonna lie when you said "Handy Dandy.." at 3:19 . I said "Notebook !" So proud 😂😂😂 #showingMyAge
Hahaha. Nice.
That S-pen has no battery, it works just like that and what's even better, it's Wacom. Every Wacom pen works withg this tablet.
If your tablet's too good, you'll get addicted to gaming, watching content on an amazing display, and whatnot.
If it's too bad, you can't do anything productive. It's like carrying a paperweight around.
Then there is Tab S6 Lite, perfect balance between price and features. Sure; This is not the tablet for the rich guy or a spoiled brat who needs a lot, but this is for a hardworking creative person who wants to see their children do something creative on a rather well-made device, besides using it for herself/ himself. I think to that end it's worth buying.
Apple has lost itself to greed and stopped innovating. Innovating for Apple is for the rich guy, the one with the most money. We, the lowlifes for apple, get their thrown away products for 3 years and that's what I hate about Apple.
Thank you for taking the time to make and post this excellent review..
You're welcome. Thanks a lot for watching!
Currently using iPad Mini 2nd gen... Want to upgrade... in a dilema between Tab S6 Lite vs iPad 7th generation... Please reply ... Will totally rely on you for the upcoming purchase...
Just get the ipad, it will work for atleast 3 years. The s6 lite will be obsolete for a year and a half at max. If you want a pen just save up for it, its definitely worth it.
@@vincentlouisebeltran7082 sounds biased since you clearly dont know how samsung works. Depending on what he's using it for both devices can be great.
@@vincentlouisebeltran7082 Samsung minimum works for 5 years. My moms Samsung phone is 7 years old. And it's smooth and still nice
I've had the tab s6 for a month now. So far the keyboard and mouse I have works just fine with the tablet. I use it for trips out of town. I am going to use it for course work. Hopefully it holds up.
Woah, that was a high quality sounding intro!!!
Damn should buy this so my daughter leaves my Note alone!!! Lol she loves to color!
Did you get it?
I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 edge that I just use as a tablet (No sim card), you think you know what slowdowns are, hahaha... Don't get me wrong, it's still a great phone, the Super AMOLED screen still looks beautiful with zero burn in (although it's beat to hell, has a few cracks and 2 dead pixels), still fast charges just fine, the single sensor camera is one of the best cameras I have ever had the pleasure of using (no joke one of my friends who has an iPhone X actually said my camera is better than his with a side-by-side comparison of the same picture, suck on that, Apple!), and 32 gigs of storage is enough most of the time. However, the battery life is absolutely atrocious now (Approx 2 Hours with a 100% charge on medium brightness), the single bottom firing speaker is just terrible, no excuses for not using the earpiece as well, micro USB is outdated as crap, and the old Snapdragon chipset (or mine might possibly have the Samsung equivalent I don't remember) has aged poorly... Oh yeah and being stuck Android 7 sucks, and I have old security updates lol. I would have at least liked Android 8 support, but anyway I'm thinking of asking for one of these Tab S6 Lite's for christmas, I can't believe how freaking affordable they are. $280 on Amazon right now for the Oxford gray one. Sign me the hell up. Oh yeah and as for gaming performance, I doubt it could be a downgrade from my S6 lol. Fortnite isn't even unofficially supported on my phone, not that I play it but I digress. The heaviest thing I probably play would be Minecraft or CoD Mobile. Oh and the included S Pen is just a bonus, can't wait to mess with that. The LCD screen might be a downside, but honestly if that's the only thing that's downgraded from my S6 I won't mind, heck it even has more RAM! Great review, I've been basically watching every single review I can find, and yours is up there with the best of them.
Thanks a lot. I'm glad you enjoyed the review. I appreciate it. Thanks for watching
@@TechOdyssey Sure thing, I research the crap out of any Tech I plan to buy and I see your videos quite often. Thanks for many good reviews!
@@andrewhamop6665 that in itself is a great compliment. I'm glad that the videos I make are helpful and give the information and insight people are looking for. So, thanks again
Nice review. How is the build quality.
Can I rest my hand on screen while drawing
Yes you can, there is a function for it ;)
Yep, unlike most reviews who seem to skimp over this feature, you can turn off finger drawing so that it completely ignores any fingers or palms on the screen, and only lets you draw with the S pen.
Thanks for the review it really helps a lot
Awesome. Glad it was helpful. Thanks for watching
Thank you!! Am trying to decide between this tablet and the "older' Samsung Tab S5E because of the better resolution. I only use a tablet when we travel for movie watching e-mail looking for information, etc. I do NOT "need" a stylus. Is it a good idea to buy an "older' tablet with better resolution and the 128 GB model had 6GB of RAM (S5E) than the "newer" model, the Tab S 6 Lite? Thank you.
Our 9 year old has become totally addicted to studying on my s7+ and LOVES using the s pen to markup worksheets and such. So of course, now she wants an s7+ (yeah, right!). So we're thinking about grabbing her an s6 lite. She'll primarily use it for studying, media, and Roblox. Do you think this would suffice for her uses?
I would check around during the holiday sales. The Tab S6 Lite is going to become dated soon. See if you can find a good deal on the Tab S7 FE. I don’t like it at full price but if you can get it under $400, it is a very good tablet option.
@@TechOdyssey Thanks for your input! The FE is so overpriced. I wouldn't pay over 300 for it. But she doesn't like the size of my s7+, so it would be too big for her. She has a Switch and a laptop, and all she uses her current tablet for is media consumption. She's currently using a Tab 4 10.1 (2014), so we're not too concerned about the age of the s6 lite, any new tablet will be an upgrade for her, lol. We ended up getting the s6 lite for $219 and we think it'll work out great for her for at least a couple of years. Thanks again!
Yoooo idk why but I want this or the tab s 7 and now there the tab s 8 🤷
You are sticking the Pen upside down. That's why you aint getting the actual grip.
Yes, if he kept and continued to use the tablet, he should figure out the proper placement of the pen to match the magnet.
9:57 MY MIND WAS BLOWN AFTER THIS
tysm :)
Problem is in the UK its £350 which is a RIP off $435.68 that's way too much for a low powered tablet.
That's a bit much
I think you just saw the actual S6 not the S6 lite
Why do you hold an entertainment tablet like a large phone? A tablet is supposed to be used in landscape mode. That's how you best watch Netflix and UA-cam. That's how you get the best sound from the speakers.
When did u pre order it? How it came so fast?
I got it from Best Buy the day it came out. I didn’t preorder
Geesh, here we go, griping and complaining about the blue color, and why he couldn’t get it! I think you should have got that pink color dude! Good grief!
Decent and fairly thorough review. Even if it is an android device. 👍✌😆😊
I have a 2022, I got it for Writing Books and not for internet use, So after I bought it I keep locked permanently on airplane mode. I will never ever take it off airplane mode. I am trying to use Samsung Notes as a Free Built in Word Processor that i could use it for a lifetime. I know that if I were to ever take it off airplane mode that I could lose all of my important writings with stupid updates, advertising and expiration dates. Plus I don't want the internet to see my personal writings. I don't want to use Microsoft Office or other word processor's because you ether have to pay for them or they blast you with updates that mess things up. Plus I don't want the internet monitoring everything I am writing or doing on my personal Samsung 2022. So my biggest question is;
1- Can I just Bluetooth my Samsung Notes directly to a Printer? Without Wi-Fi or Internet? And how do I do that?
2 - Is their an adapter cord to hook up to my Samsung directly to a Printer?? Without the use of Internet or WiFi?
3 - Can i copy Samsung Notes to a thumb drive for safe keeping?
Please tell how is note taking experience is it ok or go for i pad
There are many videos on for drawing and Note taking. Check them.
I use it for school and it works great for note taking. I bought Noteshelf on Play Store but their Samsung Notes actually works pretty well too.
Should u buy this one or the ipad 8?
That's a big difference in tablets. Do you prefer one operating system over the other?
@@TechOdyssey im currently an apple guy but i dont care getting a samsung i had plenty of android devices in the past but what bothers me te most is that the ipad only is in 32gb and for less of price of the ipad i could buy a samsung with 64gb, a pencil and save money
do you sell your old tab..
Please tell me does this tab support seagate slim 2tb hard disk.
It does. The usb c is only usb 2.0 but it supports external storage.
watching this in July 2021
Tab s6 lite or tab s5e?
The S6 lite will likely have the more recent OS and more upgrades and continued security patch support. The S5e is a little older now but had 4 speakers versus 2, on the 6 lite. S5e has no s pen support so if the s pen is important to you the definitely the 6 lite. Performance is likely similar with the SD 665 vs Exynos processor, and they both have a 7k mAh battery - S5e is OLED vs LCD in the 6 lite. All in all I'd probably recommend the s6 lite, just because of s pen support and newer, for the same of updates and continued support. Otherwise they're very similar in performance
Can you use Microsoft office on this?
Yes you can
@@TechOdyssey I'm in need of a tablet for work but my only option is the Tab 6 lite. My main purpose is for drawing diagrams, correcting my students assignments using classroom and recording their marks in excel. Would the s6 lite be appropriate?
@@athruncagalli17 the Tab S6 Lite should be perfectly fine for that.
your not placing the s pen correctly, the sturdiest position is where the s pen is on the right side of the tablet and the pen tip faces up
It was a demonstration. You can place it both directions and both sides.
Please relax.
Thanks man
Sure thing. Thanks for watching!
Can the s pen nip be removed
No. It doesn't come with interchangeable tips like the regular s6
@@TechOdyssey the only thing i wanna know is can it be removed
@@joelsoloman actually, yes it can. It doesn't come with interchangeable tips or the tool to remove them but I went and grabbed the tool from my note 10 and it comes out
@@TechOdyssey all the nibs same size.will note 8 nip be ok for s6 lite s pen
Note taking for students??!!
Sure. If you want.
I really don't like the tft display
I only have a android Samsung Galaxy tablet.
If you like to bootleg. Android all day
I have bootloader unlocked and installed TWRP and Lineage and the performance gulf is astounding compared to what software Samsung ships it with. It FLIES with Lineage. FLIES. And currently full pen support is there. Perfect tablet for me.
It's my dream
iPad are overly overpriced. People pay more just be into their prison system.
Not true at all. The 2019 iPad is amazing value and performance and will be good for 4-5 years.
I can't buy it
Lol the best
🤣🤣🤣 no Samsung tablet will ever be a better option than an iPad. Unless you like cheap quality go for it.
No Samsung product has ever been cheap, every single one I have owned has lasted me years including their tablets.....I would say Apple uses cheap material, that new ipad pro bends super easily, look it up at jerry rig everything....
So wrong.
That not true
Can you please do a long term review on the tab S6 please please please @TechOdyssey
I would not buy a Samsung phone but a Samsung tablet looks appealing
I like it
Mine is the other way around lmao, i hate iphones but i kinda always need an ipad
@@vincentlouisebeltran7082 I can understand that but because I despise Apple so much, my hate would nuke my logic when choosing a tablet while iPads objectively are really good from what I know but I could not respect myself supporting that extremely greedy and lazy fruit company 😁
@@LetsBringThePain apple might be greedy but they're definitely not lazy lmao. The amount of engineering it takes to make every device almost perfect is kinda amazing tbh.
If iphones are not that needlessly expensive i'll definitely upgrade every year. Im also pretty sure that if apple products are atleast 10% less expensive i swear it will hold like 60% phone market share.
@@vincentlouisebeltran7082 calling iPhones perfect is such a sad joke... Apple is lazy because before it used to make inovations and it had a cool factor, now they are way behind the competition, their phones look boring and even that "argument" that they wait for something to be perfected to release it is a joke, the only thing is what they are perfecting is the huge notch and greediness that the iPhone fanboys will gladly accept

If you're using an iPad now you'll probably be happier with the newer iPad and then 7rh gen is a very good deal for $250 on sale, especially if you don't care about the stylus.
TechOdyssey Sir thanks for the reply ... I’m a student so I presume stylus do matter ...
