Yep, they're protective. My Rottie was in the car and started growling and looking at a store. When I looked it was one of those store's that sells wigs. The thing is that the wigs were on head mannequins and she perceived it as a threat. Hands down best dog breed I've owned.
My Rottie was named "Tank" also. He was VERY well named. 155 lbs of dyyynnnnoooomite, lookin' for a belly rub. . . . . after he finished his work. Didn't like other dogs, cats, wild animals including badgers, especially not badgers!! . . strange humans bearing treats (if a stranger did NOT offer him a treat he would simply give them a good sniff and ignore them unless they tried something he didn't like. Hen, it was LOOK OUT! Never even had to draw my handgun while he lived. Miss that dog something awful.
This is awesome!! My rottie does the exact same thing, if the cars are not parked in the driveway in the same order she loses it at the window for about an hour 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I used to take my roti with me in a night shift in the pharmacy. All patients were in awe of him. My boss wasn’t happy about me taking him with me. I was always alone during that shift.
@SEAN PETAIA Eh, we have something very similar for our dog, he’s not gonna jump because there is nothing flat on the other side, only stairs, and he can’t just land on the stairs, same with my dogs they no it’s stairs on the other side so they aren’t gonna jump
At the start and even at 0:44 is like he wants to let you know that something is wrong. It's the same behaviour of my dachshund, he looks at you, then he turns to where's the issue and starts barking ❤️ he does even more when you're pointing to the source of the issue
My dog is listening...... I'm not sure, but he may have shrugged his shoulders. But, if I make the gasp sound... Like "wauggh. What was that?" It doesn't matter what sound, or none at all. He's up and pacing the floor, low growl mode, looking for a reason. Wishing a mutha would. He's a fun time. Always has my back.
Historically, Rottweilers were used as work dogs. They performed any number of tasks like herding, guard duty, and pulling carts. For these tasks, especially pulling, there was a hazard of their tails becoming caught in things. For centuries, the norm has been to “dock” their tails shortly after birth. Because they’re generally not used in those roles now, the practice is less common and illegal in some places (like the UK). But it is still common enough that a Rottie with a full tail can look odd to some.
@@onlysaneman9341 Thanks for the info, my family had a Rottweiler when I was a kid and I never understood why someone would do that unless it was health related
Relax, the Rottweiler is not an idiot. They’re a very intelligent breed. Chances are that it’s simply the rotties predatory instinct seeing a picture of a cat pissing it off
No predatory instinct. It's something new and it freaks him out. Same with mine. Things that were out of order: dead cow, street sign, garbage can, annoyed hunter and an old lady in the forest picking berries. They ARE smart but...yeah...possibly young at a certain age they develop weird behaviours. Also, no predator is angry at it's prey.

There is difference in #Psychology between intelligence &Agression. It's an agressive dog but not necessarily smart. Intelligence would be if he could understand that it's fake. But it looks like it can't be fooled and no reason for the owner to Stress the animal just for U Tube views confusing it' for no reason. Cats would look the flag and laugh😂😂. This is not a dog being protective.... this is a dumb animal that can't understand that the given stimulus is not worthy loosing his energy.
If you have read up on them they are in fact smart. Saw one that beat a border collie in obedience. Since you know nothing let me tell you that the bc is the smartest dog handsdown, loves to work with their owner and is a sure bet to win. Yet lost. Labs and goldens are smart dogs too yet mine has done this as well. In fact many do it. I think he may be at a young we call it the ghost age when they get scared of random stuff like this. Don't remember when it occurs though.

Very professional of the doggo!!
That Growl is enough to deter anyone or thing!
Rottweilers are extremely Righteousness conscious and it discriminates accordingly to person, time, place, and circumstance.
You serious?we just saw a dog that can't tell the difference between what is real and what is fake.
