We decided to install e-tracks because we were tired of shippers/receivers damaging and losing our load locks.
We bought these e tracks from Carrier trailer shop. 4 e-tracks were about $1500.
Thank you for giving pricing on it! I know prices fluctuate depending on a few factors but it gives me a figure to work with. Great work tackling it yourselves!
nice job , i really like the way you use the load lock bars very cool , glad to see a quality job done on a reefer
Thank you
awesome job
Which store available and dealer? Name please 53 ft etrack
Thanks for the video. Looking to do the same on my reefer but can only find the e-tracks in 10 foot lengths. Those on your trailer appear to be one piece units around 50 feet long? Can you provide contact information from where you purchased? Be safe!
Thank You
Hi. We purchased the tracks from Carrier truck sales in St Louis MO. Any trailer sales should sell it too. Make sure to buy the bag of screws too.
Excelente Job!!
How many screws do you bay?
Don't remember. When you buy the e-tracks, they will tell you exactly how many you need to purchase
Dang $1500 for 4 pieces?!?!?
Not cheap. I heard it went up too.
Did you have a hard time finding the studs
Nope. Just use a good stud finder.
What type of screws are you using? Are you screwing into the alluminum studs?
We bought the screws with the e-track at the dealer to make sure we are using the exact ones that they use to install. So when you purchase your e-tracks make sure you ask to buy screws from them too. They charge per screw but they should know how much you need. And buy some extra just in case. Yes we screw them to the aluminum studs. We pre drill the studs first before screwing them in.
@@bonnyslifevlogs6442 how many inches is it until I hit the stud drilling? What size screw do I need?
Sorry. It's been awhile. Can't remember the screw size. But you have to call your trailer manufacturer to ask for the screw size. Tell them you want to install e-track in your trailer and need to know screw size. Every trailer brand is slightly different. Also, when you drill be careful not to drill through the other side. Use a drill bit stopper.
1 3/4 inch sheet metal screws . Use the drill bit that's 1 size smaller and shell grip nice and tight
@@kellykolnes1954 yup! 👍
Hi My question is those screws will hold a 30k+ pound load ?
Reason i ask is becaus i want to do the same but,i dont want the screws to pop out!
Yes. Screw them all to the metal frame as instructed. It will only pop out if you put screws into the wall without metal frame. Get a good stud finder to help you.
@@bonnyslifevlogs6442 thank you
@@antvurena Use straps along the same side as the E-track, along the wall that you're attached to. If you need to strap across to the other opposite side of truck wall, then use a load bar, for that., because if you try to strap across from one wall to the next then overtime you will pull the screws out of the E-track.
@@bonnyslifevlogs6442 so you did use a stud finder . Which one did you use?
@euroshfl Dewalt and zircon from home depot
Hello, thanks for the video. I need to add E-tracking to my 16’ box van but it has no plywood, studs or anything. Previous owner added a lower e track right to the metal wall. Is that basically what you guys did or does your box have studs?
Hi. 53" reefer trailers all have metal studs. The e-tracks needs to be screwed into the studs to have a firm hold. I've seen some trailers that had e-tracks screwed to the walks only, the screws will pop out.
@@bonnyslifevlogs6442 totally agree! this is my point of messaging you. For some reason my box has no studs. They punched the lower E track right into the box and they added a wood rail on a different set of measurements..its bizarre. Anyway, no biggy. I was curious if your guys box has visible studs. Heres a pic of my van..oops, it wont let me attach picture..no big. Ill figure it out:)
@jessehaslanded1 there are no visible studs. We used a stud finder to locate the studs.
@@bonnyslifevlogs6442 talked to the manufacturer today. my box is made of RFP..basically plywood wrapped in fiberglass. No studs at all. They just use rivets. Studs would have been much easier though and something Im familiar with:) thanks again
What is their function or how do they work?
Holds loads better with straps. Or can be used with load bars that's for e tracks
What is the name of the type of screws that you used.
When you buy the tracks, the dealer will sell you the screws too. They are exact fit.
#12 1 3/4 inch Sheet metal screws is what I used . They worked great
😕 p̴r̴o̴m̴o̴s̴m̴
What a waste of time do not explain or show ANYTHING
The dealer told me they use any screws they have laying around
Humm. Call Vanguard
@@bonnyslifevlogs6442 #12 1 3/4 sheet metal screw .
Are those just Philip head screws ?
Yes. Bought them with the e tracks. So these screws length and size are meant for the reefer trailer.
@@bonnyslifevlogs6442 they look like a plan sheet metal screw .
I'm not sure. We bought them together when we bought the e track. Had to make sure the yr, make and model of our trailer. Screws they have are different lengths to make sure they don't go through the exterior.
